Full disclosure, there are several similar hotels in the area and I chose this one for the indoor…read morepool and hot tub as well as the free breakfast. The pool and hot tub met my expectations and are open from 7am-11pm without the need for a lifeguard so you have plenty of time to take advantage. They also weren't crowded and the hot tub was perfect after a long drive and a long day. The free breakfast also did the job before a long day, it's the usual yogurt, cereals, muffins, bagels, eggs, sausage, etc. along with a make your own pancake station I didn't get to try, enjoyable cinnamon rolls, and one day they had biscuits and gravy. They also have 24 hour free coffee in a machine which was pretty good. The gym isn't anything amazing but they have some treadmills and other machines and that was more than what I needed to get my steps in for the day. The room itself did the job, the bed was comfortable and the room was quiet and I slept well. The cleanliness in the bathroom could have been better as there was some mold in the bathroom shower. One weird quirk was my card wasn't working for access to the gym/pool area so the front desk let me in. No big deal, just slightly annoying. Also the front desk staff was super friendly, helpful and down to earth. I'll stay here again if I'm the area since the hot tub is a big draw and hopefully they can clean the shower a little better next time.

If I'd been the one booking and researching... the pic and accusations of bed bugs would have caused me to look elsewhere. We looked and lifted the mattress but didn't see anything. But I'm still creeper out. The bedding is white but different pattern than the pic.

Beautiful place for a wedding. This place is definitely off…read morethe beaten path. It is located off of 48 (way off) and off Old Elkins road and behind Nay Chapel. We navigated to it by searching for the chapel and then taking the road behind it. Once you drive behind the chapel, the trees open into a large field with a structure at the far end of the open field. There is a rather steep hill between the road and the structure. A large bus was able to make it but it may seem daunting to visitors. We attended a wedding at this location. The wedding was beautiful. It is a scenic place set at the end of a large field. There is one large structure painted white with a large open area inside. There are 3 bathrooms, separate bride and groom areas and a storage area with a sink, refrigerator and table. There is not a real kitchen. The outside has a concrete pad to one side of the building. In the field, toward the road, are a fire pit and an outdoor wedding area set well away from the structure. The wedding area is farther out in the field with 2 large concrete pads for benches and a grass aisleway that faces an area for the wedding to take place in a backdrop of a forest. Overall, it was a very nice place for a large event.

It was kind of a muddy mess due to there not being walkways from their outdoor wedding area to the barn reception area. I'd say in a few years this place will be 5 star for a barn wedding.

PUBLIC RESPONSE TO VALLEY FALLS CENTER'S MISLEADING COMMENTS…read more I feel compelled to respond publicly to address the false and misleading statements made by Valley Falls Center regarding the solar project completed at their facility.     1.    Our company is a licensed contractor in the State of West Virginia. We performed the installation, passed inspection, and the system received permission to operate. The work was completed, functional, and met all applicable requirements. Despite this, we were not paid in full.     2.    Valley Falls Center claims to have paid a "general contractor," but both entities involved--JK Renewables and Sapphire Peak Energy--are not licensed general contractors in West Virginia, as required under WV Code §30-42-4. There was no licensed general contractor on record for this project. Under WV Code §38-2-2, when work is performed with the knowledge and consent of the property owner, the owner is directly liable for payment, regardless of any contracts they claim to have signed with upstream parties.     3.    Valley Falls Center claims this is a dispute "between subs." That is false. We had multiple meetings and direct communications with Shannon Tran. She knew we were the licensed contractor performing the work on-site. At no point did she object to our role or request any lien waivers. We were never paid in full for the work we completed. Under WV Code §38-2-22, we have the right to file a lien since no written lien waiver was ever executed, and none was requested.     4.    To suggest the work was "shoddy" is both defamatory and factually baseless. If the workmanship were substandard, the system would not have passed inspection nor received utility PTO (Permission to Operate). The delay referenced by Valley Falls Center was caused by internal disputes between Shannon Tran, JK Renewables, and Sapphire Peak Energy over inverter configuration--not by our company.     5.    Valley Falls Center's public comments are a clear attempt to deflect from their own unlawful and unethical business conduct, including:     *    Knowingly hiring unlicensed contractors     *    Falsely claiming a general contractor relationship to avoid payment     *    Making defamatory statements about licensed professionals     *    Attempting to intimidate through legal threats instead of resolving unpaid obligations We have filed a valid mechanic's lien under WV Code §38-2-39 and are prepared to pursue litigation for:     *    Breach of contract     *    Quantum meruit     *    Defamation     *    Slander of title     *    Tortious interference with business relations This is a warning to other contractors and businesses: avoid doing business with Valley Falls Center and Shannon Tran. Proceeding without full payment, transparency, and honesty is a risk no professional should take.
