Traveling on a motorcycle from Virginia to Vancouver, BC Canada, first day on the road. Dark skys and swirling winds forced us into the closest place we could find and SpringHill Suites was it. What a great hotel. We only stayed for one night but I wish it were longer. Check in was easy and efficient. I had made a reservation online and I am a Marriott Bonvoy member. The room was large and the bed was comfortable. I did not want to get out of the shower !!! Shower head was superb. Lots of towels and the bathroom was a good size. Breakfast in the morning was above average. Coffee was delicious. Scrambled eggs and bacon. English muffins and JIF peanut butter. Plus lots more offerings. That's just what I had. I got a great rate online. Give them a try - you will be glad you did !! read more

The set up of this hotel is somewhat unique. It is a fantastic layout if you are alone and will be there for several days, as there is a nice sitting area that is separated from where you sleep by a divider. It comes with a Microwave, a wet bar, mini fridge, and things like the coffee table can be split and moved around to make it more appropriate for eating, visiting or another sleeping area. For us it was a visiting area as we were in the area for a funeral and to visit with family who were also traveling from another part of the country. I loved the seat placed over the window unit to both hide it a little, and give you a place to set luggage or look out. The closet set up was also nice and since they have a pull out sofa I didn't have to ask for an extra pillow which is awesome in my book. That said, the bathroom barn door is heavy and noisy in the middle of the night, and doesn't offer as much privacy as we like. If you turn on the light before you close the barn door you flood the bed in light. Thankfully I usually remember a night light for this reason. The shower has room for improvement, cleanliness was okay not great. The reviews about breakfast are spot on. They don't offer much, as in not many choices really, and are slow to refill, replace - the weekend we were there, apparently there was a boys softball competition of some sort, so getting into the breakfast area after 8am was a shot in the dark. We usually just grabbed juice and a banana. I will say other than a few kids running down the halls, the room was pretty quiet which is a huge plus, I didn't hear all the slamming doors of all the folks coming/going which was a nice change from other places. read more

Spring hill suites, first the price, $94 with discounts, in January! Ok, need a nice room. Room is nice, all accommodations. Breakfast , Sucks! Steamed sausage, precooked(fried)eggs, boiled eggs, toast, plain bagels, no Danish or sweet breads, so-so coffee.1 set of well used salt and pepper shakers ( hello people with colds!) I've stayed at this hotel a few times now and it lives up to Marriott's reputation. The rooms are large, offering a small sitting area, desk and kitchenette in addition to the beds and bathroom. Most importantly, the rooms are clean and not dated. The hotel is well staffed with friendly faces. The lobby offers plenty of work space, a bar, take out food and free breakfast in the mornings. The hotel also has an outdoor fire pit, indoor pool & hot tub and decent sized gym. Located in Clarksburg, the hotel is within walking distance to a Panera and a short drive from a few other dining options. I highly recommend this SpringHill Suites for anyone traveling through the area. read more

Very nice room and no noisy AC. Good location for places to eat though don't plan on walking to them as the area is the most walker unfriendly place I've ever seen. My go-to place to stay in the area. Excellent hot breakfast bar (the cheese and cold cuts was a nice change of pace). Nice room. Just two quirky things: the room was a little cold, even though it's summer, and the ac is off, and they have all these bins in the room, but it's unclear which is for recycling. We stayed at this hotel three times this past summer when our daughter was being filmed for some professional movies in the area. This hotel is beautifully decorated, with lots of teal (unlike many current hotels that are all gray and beige), and nicely laid out (with big lobby, and extra sink and huge closet in rooms). When we commented that it looked new, they said it was actually about five years old, but the housekeeping manager is very particular about taking great care of it. The hotel manager and the front desk employees were super nice and friendly, and cared about the satisfaction of the customers. It is convenient to the highway and to shops such as Kohls and restaurants such as Texas Roadhouse, McDonalds, and Panera. We will stay there again! read more

My family and I stayed here in May 2017 for my younger sister's college graduation. The service was great. They managed to give us adjoining rooms and meet all of our expectations.This hotel is in the middle of everything as there are a few gas stations and food places within walking distance. There is also a Walgreens right across the street. The rooms were big in size as there is a separate living area with a kitchenette and pull out couch. One room can easily accommodate up to 6 people comfortably. The complementary breakfast was great as there were many different options to choose from and our kids loved it. The only downside I would say to this hotel is the fact that the pool is very small and there is no hot tub. However, I did love the fact that they gave away free chupa chup lollipops at the front desk. That took me back to my childhood years. All in all a pleasant experience. read more

The general manager's follow up is completely unacceptable. I am not the only person in the past two weeks to complain about cleanliness on the first floor of this hotel. There is another review on TripAdvisor where someone found trash on the floor and found a dirty washcloth in their bed linens. Sometimes cleaning staffs at hotels do not do their job. I don't want to be told that the rooms are cleaned daily and pests sprayed for once a month. I want to be told that I would be welcomed back and that my complaint will be investigated and taken seriously. The response is apathetic, generic, and seems to insinuate that they did nothing wrong. The general manager's response has made me adjust my review down to one star. read more

Good hotel. Friendly staff. Everything was clean. We used the pool. They had towels, maintenance came by a couple times checking everything. The room was clean and quiet. Only thing, we couldn't get tv to work. We could get it on but couldn't change channels. It was fine, I didn't call for help. But was confusing. We just didn't watch tv, which was fine. My family and I showed up to check in and there was no one at the desk. I loudly asked "hello?" No answer. I asked again. No answer. I ended up calling and the lady who answered told me she was in a guest's room fixing the tv and she would be here in "just a few minutes." She finally showed. I stay with Marriott a lot and am a Silver Elite rewards member but this is unsatisfactory. Otherwise, the room was clean and spacious. read more

My family got together in Clarksburg to visit. All 4 families stayed at the Spring Hill Suites. It was perfect. The suites were large which gave us places to meet and chat about old times. The children were disappointed with the pool. It is VERY small. However management allowed them to go next door to their sister hotel where the pool was larger. We would stay there again. read more

Part of me wanted to give this hotel 3 stars but the cleanliness and staff kept it at a 4. The rooms were nicely sized but poorly designed. The set up was all over the place and the TV was put in an odd spot making it hard to see from the couch or beds. My bathroom door would also not lock which wasn't a huge issue for me but something worth pointing out. The part that really made me want to lower my rating was the breakfast. It was a very small selection and the food was not very good. They also had a sign saying "Oatmeal with Nutella and fresh fruit" and there was no Nutella. I was not a big fan of the false advertisement. The pool was a little small but at least it had one. The workout room was a nice highlight for me. Very up to date equipment and a clean area to get my evening workout in. Overall I have to give this a 4 because there was a lot of good parts to this hotel but there was definitely some disappointing parts. Definitely sufficient for an overnight stay but I would not stay more than 1 night here. read more

We arrived here on our way to Orlando, Florida. Without a reservation and three tired kids, Melinda and Debra checked us in at 1130 at night with no problem. Stayed 1 night 6-16-2018. Very nice hotel. Had adjoining rooms and both were bigger than most we have stayed in. Very clean. We have stayed in many hotels and never have had better service. Jay at the front desk was exceptional. He was extremely nice and pleasant. Jay was very informative at check-in and offered suggestions for place to eat and gave us a list of places to choose from. We had an issue with the TV and he personally was to the room in under 4 minutes and fixed the issue. Every hotel should have a person as good! read more

This is a nice new hotel that is very clean. The front desk staff were all very friendly and helpful and really all the stars go to them. Checking in was easy even though we booked through Travelocity. Our room was descent sized and the shower had nice pressure. We had a issued with the heavy sliding door to the bathroom derailing but we notified the front desk and they had someone up to look at it right away and when that person was unable to complete the repairs they had their engineer repair it ASAP. They kept up updated and resolved the issue quickly. The complimentary breakfast was not huge but had a nice variety of choices. Here is why they don't get the full 5 stars. First while the front desk was super nice and helpful the cleaning staff not as much. There were two of us staying for 3 nights. We only had a room cleaned once and when it was done it was not very well. Items that were on the floor were not picked up or disturbed. So I find it unlikely they vacuumed the floors at all. We slept late one morning until about 10 or 11 (keep in mind checkout at this hotel is not until 11 am but we were not checking out for another day) so they were already cleaning the rooms adjacent to ours. As we left our room one staff member was complaining loudly and sarcastically about not getting tipped. But we ignored this comment, smiled and said good morning and went about our day outside the hotel. So they saw us leave the room, they were actively working on the adjacent rooms, we returned several hours later there was no one on the floor cleaning but our room was not cleaned. Okay... well this being the 2nd day of the trip and two people with one bathroom we ran out of toilet paper. This wouldn't have happened had the room been cleaned and restocked while we were out. I called down the front desk and had them send more up and again the front desk staff were helpful and efficient getting someone up to hand us rolls right away. My other issue was that when we turned on the heat or ac there was a musty smell. We opened the window and aired out the room and then turned on the heat later and the smell returned so it is definitely coming from the heat/ac unit. I have stayed in other SpringHill Suites so I'm little disappointed at the lack of standards for housekeeping. The front desk resolved the issues quickly but they shouldn't have had to resolve them at all if the proper cleaning & restocking had been done. There are other people complaining about the level of cleanliness so this should really be addressed by the management before complaints go up the chain to corporate. read more
