After several years of Dave Klingle's poor workmanship and questionable billing practices I asked…read morehim how much will it cost to complete my auto restoration/modification. He responded, "$3,000." I told him I would remove my unfinished car body so that he could tend to another customers needs I left the already painted hood, trunk lid, two doors, front fenders and assorted small parts in his shop and began paying him $300.00 each month for the next 10 months. When the total $3,000.00 quote was paid I hauled my car back to his shop so that the final assembly could be completed. I pointed out a small spot of bubbled paint on the edge of the drivers side roof and left his shop with the understanding that he would call me when he need my assistance to attach the finished pieces. When I arrived at his shop he handed me a bill for $1,500 for the "work" he had performed. By "work" he meant the repair to the rust spot that caused the paint to bubble. When I reminded him that I paid him $3,000 to finish the car, he replied that his quoted price was just and estimate. I had already paid him thousands of dollars and spent 4 years assisting him with the restoration/modification! I told him that I was not going to pay him another cent and he threatened to put a lien on my car and that he knew I could afford to continue to pay him. If I had known about his poor workmanship and dishonest business practices I never would have taken my car to his shop. BEWARE of this swindler!
