I used Yelp to find a car wash place and drove over to Water Works to discover that it was a detailing shop and I had to make an appointment for a day or two in advance. I asked the owner if he could recommend a place nearby that I could go to right away explaining we had just come from the funeral service at St. Francis. He told me to nose our car into the packed garage and he would clean off the windshield and front of our SUV with his high power spray hose and solvent spray. That he did and then he had one of his employees come over to help wipe down the car. When they were done I was going to give him 20 bucks thinking that was fair recompense. He turned down the offer saying that due to Covid and family illnesses he had lost a number of his relatives over the past two years and that he understood what we were going through. He told us we didn't have to pay! I thanked him gratefully and we drove way with a clean windshield and front end completely impressed by the owner's humanity and generosity!

Around town, I heard Water Works was a good place to get my detail done. They were right. Service was prompt, professional and friendly. Vehicle was perfectly clean. We are talking, seats removed and carpet taken out, a big job. And they did great. I'll be taking my vehicles there from now on. I highly recommend Water Works.

Damaged hood Going through the car wash I didn't notice any…read moreproblem, but when I got home a notice some scratches on my hood. The scratches appeared to be from the rotation brush that apparently bounced off the hood some way. I reported the damage and the manager was more in the defensive mood than to try to find out what happened. He said he had pictures of me interring and leaving the car wash with no damage, but there was damage when I got home. The only pictures the manager showered me was a video where you couldn't tell the color or make of the car, let alone if there was any damage.

Was disappointed to find that the vacuums do not work very much at all. There was hardly any suction. it's two dollars for four minutes. We just returned the vacuum hoses to their spot before time was up because it was a waste of energy. I'd say if you want a good car wash they are worth the money, but don't count on the vacuums.

Turns out the valve stem got torn off. I took this to management, and although they were nice, they kept reinstating that they didn't see the wash malfunction on their end, nor my flat tire. They then proceeded to reinstate their policy on damage claims, stating that because my car was older than 5 years, could not be covered. Now, I'm not calling them liars. I wouldn't be surprised if their camera equipment is lower quality // outdated, but the rail of the wash definitely ripped off the stem. In the middle of the wash, without touching the wheel, I felt my car start skipping up and down, then pulled out onto the street and had a flat with some severe rim damage. And management suggested I hit a curb? Again not to put them at fault, they did a great job reinforcing ownership's rules, but come on now. Anyways, seems like ample evidence to me. I want to return to this location believe me, but unfortunately I will not be using this car wash anymore.

There is absolutely nothing in the wash tunnel which could cause that damage. My guess? She says they just bought the car but took it to be washed, which implies it was dirty. The dirty surface of the car and windshield likely concealed the chips, and the wash revealed them. The car was 20+ years old and came from a dealer (and I'm just sure it was a reputable dealer selling 20+ year old dirty cars!) who can back up her story? The AutoShine washes on Broadway and the one behind Farm and Home are by far the best washes in Quincy. (And the vacuum stations at the Broadway location are a detailers dream! (Please add those to 48th Street!) Personally I don't use tunnel washes for my vehicles as I don't like brushes and scrubbers touching my paint. But I have ridden through both AutoShines in other vehicles and can vouch for their equipment and process.

Luckily I had an air compressor to fill my tire. I stopped by Dene Lambkin Honda. They greeted me immediately and I told them about my tire. I saw the service writer drive off in my car and immediately began to change the tire himself. I sat in the waiting area for 5 min. A young lady came back and showed me this giant screw they pulled out of my tire. Within 10 min they came out and told me I was set to go. They plugged my tire and I drove over 300 miles that trip and didnt have a problem. The staff was professional and efficient. I was only charged less than $20 and they washed my car. I purchased my 2025 Camry from Lewis Toyota in Topeka Kansas 9/12/2025 after totaling my car on the…read moreway home from vacation. I chose Shottenkirk to do my service work. First service 5266 miles tire rotation, MPI, adj fluids. Everything on the check list was parked except tires rotated. I told service writer there was some carpet under passenger seat that was not taped down correctly, it was not repaired. Second service 6542 miles, was for leaking strut was repaired in a timely manner. Third service 10316 miles, oil change, tire rotation, MPI. Again everything was checked off except tires rotated rotation. Forth, third Toyota care 15812 miles. Again everything checked off list except tires rotated. 21439 miles forth Toyota care oil change, tire rotation, MPI. I told them of a piece of trim that was loose, it is still loose Again everything checked except tires rotated. This time when I received their survey I noted that the box was not checked for tire rotation. I got an email that told me it was just an oversight that you had reviewed your tapes and the tires were rotated. My next service call was because I got an alert on the car that said my car needed service. I made an appointment drove an hour each way to have the service department tell me they forgot to reset. I have been extremely disappointed in my overall experience with Shottenkirk.
