Sitting at my desk on a Friday, watching the rain hit my window... I thought, "I'm not spending my weekend here..." My thought processes was where can I go within driving distance with Bentley(my fur-baby), hike and take in beautiful sunsets on the beach.... After a short search Michigan and Highway 31 Cabins checked ALL the boxes! The airbnb hosts Charlie and Andra were great! They responded within minutes to my messages, gave detailed/easy to understand directions to their location and instructions on how to enter the cabin along with where to park(all very much appreciated!)... the area is super cute, half circle of cabins, complete with a fire pit. Once inside everything looked up just as pictured on their Airbnb site; no surprises. My favorite part was the information binder with "insider/local" tips, love exploring the hidden gems to local areas. Lots of amazing sites to see within a reasonable distance. Highway 31 Cabins - We were staying for the blessing of the bikes in Baldwin - Vacation Rentals Near Me - Free Soil, Michigan

My son and I wanted to get a break away from Big City and found a location central to Freesoil, Ludington, Manistee, and Cadillac. We chose the large cabin since we wanted some space and room to relax. It was a good choice. When we entered the cabin it just felt special, I don't know, it just had a fairy tale charm about it. I liked the lower ceiling cottage feel of the kitchen area that held the loft above. There were no moldy or funky smells, just a vanilla candle scent at the enclosed porch area, which faded as you entered the living quarters. It was an antique cabin, well maintained. Clean. Somebody works hard keeping it that clean because it is an old cabin and that's not easy to do. Fragrant detergents are used on linens. It's a real log cabin, perhaps rowhouse shaped with a lean-to and another addition added on. The dining area has high ceilings with a cast iron fireplace and ceiling fan. A roomy space. The living room has a television, two upholstered chairs and a loveseat that makes into a bed. I slept very well there, it was quieter from Highway 31 traffic there, the pull out was comfy to me. There is a wall of windows that looks out to scenic woods where we saw a deer take water. The kitchen was fully equipped and they offered coffee with creamers. The grounds were very well manicured, ample parking, and there was a firepit (wood available for a small fee), picnic table, and grill. The hostess/keeper was kind and friendly and kept a nice office where we noticed cross country skis and heard of snow shoes for those who wish a winter venture. There's also plenty of brochures to check out your surroundings so you don't miss a thing and stay plenty busy in food and fun. I think it would also be a lovely Michigan winter stay there. Another note, whoever decorated the cabin did so beautifully. If I were an out-of-stater I would have received the full blown charm of Michigan. My cup was full. You could tell a lot of work was put into the project, with generous care and loving detail. I would be blessed to return again some day. read more

Rustic cabins, not fancy but nice and clean. A good value for the money. Cabin had a fridge and microwave and 3 beds.
