When a start date that was agreed upon arrives, Robert comes up with excuse after excuse to postpone the project. After giving him ample opportunity to make this right, we decided to ask him to return our deposit so we could have another company complete the project. As of 2-18-24, we have not received anything from him. I will update this review if we ever get our deposit returned. Save yourself the headache and go with another contractor.

We had Robert & crew from Iron Rock D&B redo our kitchen recently. We went with stock cabinets that…read morewere painted a royal blue, white quartz counter-top with slight gold marbling, off-white back-splash, oak plank flooring and stainless steel appliances and the results are beautiful. There were challenges along the way, as with every project, but probably more so on ours because the house was 80 years old. The old kitchen was 50 years old so was totally gutted. Cabinet options were somewhat limited in our price range and we should have asked more questions regarding layout and functionality, which contributed to the slightly lower rating due to some of their limitations. Start to finish was almost 5 weeks. Workmanship was above average. They kept me informed of when they would be on-site and what they would be working on, so I would say communication was excellent in that regard. Bottom line, I would recommend Iron Rock D&B for your kitchen remodel. D&J Smith

Like many such bathroom-plumbing works, this is a complicated installation that can easily go wrong a hundred ways. The RR people planned it and did it at one go. Done right! Our compliments on the excellent work by the technician who visited us to install the shower door (apologies - I did not write down his name). He did an overall fantastic job, start to finish, earning a 100/100. He is competent, professional, and courteous. He answered all our questions patiently and stayed focused on the job without rushing it. Notably, the final cleanup was so thorough! Earlier, the person who visited us for the estimation and measurement was equally good- very knowledgeable! The office personnel who handle the scheduling are very responsive and understanding of our (customers') changing needs and priorities. At first, we were concerned about the high-end quote, but every cent of the price was worth it. Good job, Refreshing Renovations, and the management and support team. Their quality of work and attention to detail is amazing and the price is very, very fair for the work being done. We are so glad to have found these guys, truly a local gem. On top of that, they fit us into their busy summer schedule so the work could be done before the painters came! I really couldn't ask for more, highly recommended.

My husband and I hired USA Pro Construction for a project to remodel our kitchen. This included…read moreceramic tile from the entryway through the kitchen to the powder room; new powder room vanity, lights, towel rack, toilet paper holder; kitchen cabinets, kitchen backsplash, granite countertop; painting, light fixture in hall, new baseboard; electric and plumbing for garbage disposal, sink and dishwasher, over-the-counter microwave. I really like Mike and believe he, his brother Keith and a couple of intermittent helpers basically know what they are doing. I would like to say I love the finished product, but it is just okay. Besides the overall incomplete and/or rushed items done in a non-professional manner (paint, trim) and the fact a 3-4-week estimate turned into 7-8 weeks, two of the largest items have major issues. 1. Our new cabinets went up right after the demolition of the kitchen and I immediately noticed they were the wrong cabinets. After admitting this was his mistake Mike continued to tell us new doors were coming. This lie continued for three months. We have now found out that we cannot just replace the doors. Our only option is to order unfinished doors and have them stained, etc. as close as possible to the color of our cabinets. We withheld part of our last payment to Mike but the total expense to replace the doors is more than double the amount we withheld. Unfortunately, we have decided to install the doors that were ordered in error even though they are far from what we wanted and have some minor scratches. My husband installed them. 2. The ceramic tile we had installed is a wood grain look. As the days went by after installation, we could see there was a haze on the tile. Mike said it might take 13 washes or more to remove this haze and twice he mopped on a special acidic cleaner. This did not help. After my 70-year-old husband spent two days (two different times) on the floor applying an acidic cleaner by hand and mopping the floor well over 13 times, the haze remains. We now are having a tile and grout company cleaning the tile, repairing a couple of loose tiles, adding grout where it has come out and sealing the grout in both our floor and backsplash ... with no guarantee the haze can be removed. Mike also promised to give us all receipts and warranties but, after numerous requests, that has not happened. Maybe this job was more than they could handle both knowledge-wise and size-wise or possibly their experience lies in other areas of construction. I know money may have been an issue for ordering new doors, but all Mike needed to do was let us know and we would have paid for them and deducted the cost from the last payment. Maybe better quality and less messiness will come with more experience and I hope for Mike's success with his business, but his priority should be honesty in communicating with his clients and quality work.

I hired Jorge to put in vinyl/PVC porch railings for my front porch and my side porch. The…read morerailings had to match existing side rails on the front porch (these were the rails going down the stairs). The side porch was made of pavers, had no railings and looked trickier. Additionally, I wanted a shelf on/near the railing - this is the porch to go to the patio and BBQ grill. Jorge did fantastic work! It looks terrific. There were many tricky aspects to it and he conquered all difficulties. I felt the price was fair - he was definitely not the cheapest quote I got, but I had followed up with references who raved about him - and I can see why - he did very good work. That said, he could have been a better communicator - I would have liked a written proposal and I wish it had not been me to follow up with him on "are you coming today" - however, he had had an emergency in his family so it may have been just that. I very much recommend Jorge for porch railings. Plus - added bonus - he's a really nice guy!
