Dimov Tax Specialists - George Dimov, C.P.A.

Dimov Tax Specialists

I've been working with Dimov Tax for the past four years, and they continue to exceed my…read moreexpectations every single time. They are incredibly professional, always responsive, and consistently keep me updated throughout the entire tax preparation process. Their attention to detail and clear communication give me complete confidence that my taxes are being handled accurately and on time. It's rare to find a team that is both efficient and personable, but Dimov Tax truly delivers on both fronts. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable tax accountant.

I've been a client of Dimov Tax for nearly 10 years, but my recent experience has been extremely…read moredisappointing. During the past five years, I've noticed a clear shift in how the firm operates--communication has declined, staff turnover has increased, and overall service quality has dropped. After paying nearly $1,800 upfront for my 2025 business and personal tax returns, I experienced over a month of delays with little to no clear communication. Despite multiple follow-ups, I was repeatedly asked for information I had already provided, which showed a lack of internal coordination. On top of that, I was asked to sign an engagement letter late in the process, which was not properly delivered or explained. As a client of nearly 10 years, it made no sense to receive a generic engagement letter outlining services I've long been familiar with. There also appears to be a high turnover of staff. I was reassigned multiple times, and each new person seemed unfamiliar with my account, leading to redundant questions and confusion about my LLC structure. It felt like I had to restart the process repeatedly. It's also extremely difficult to get George Dimov on the phone, and emails often go unanswered. At this point, he comes across as an absentee owner, with much of the work seemingly outsourced to staff abroad who are not aligned or familiar with long-term clients. For a firm handling time-sensitive financial matters, that level of disconnect is frustrating. Even more concerning, there was a separate incident involving a former employee, Bob Liu, who went rogue and took client information, including mine. He processed one of my tax returns independently, and to this day I have never received a copy of that return. I had to notify George myself, as he was not aware of the situation. This directly impacted me by delaying a construction loan process I was pursuing with a bank. Most recently, after having over three months to prepare my returns, the firm still filed my tax return incorrectly. That was the final straw for me, and I ultimately decided to terminate my relationship with them. I also ended my payroll services with them. Despite paying $100 per month automatically for 38 months, they claimed I owed an "outstanding balance of $5,700 for 38 months of services." This was completely false, as I have proof of every payment. This situation highlights the disorganization of the firm and the constant turnover of staff who clearly are not aligned or aware of long-term client accounts. Overall, I can no longer recommend this firm, especially for clients with multiple entities or complex tax situations. P.S. The reviews here feel misleading. I've noticed that the owner is quick to respond publicly to reviews, yet does not follow up with his actual clients. If you're considering working with this firm, feel free to reach out--I'd be happy to discuss my experience further and share supporting documentation. As a result of the delays and mishandling of my account, I was also charged a late-filing penalty by the IRS.

While I appreciated the professionalism in communication, the overall experience fell short in several important ways. First, there was minimal human interaction throughout the process. At no point did anyone take the time to understand my unique career goals--whether I was repositioning myself for a new industry, returning to the workforce after a break, or targeting a specific type of role. The service felt highly templated and lacked the strategic depth I expected from a career consulting company. They did want me to submit two job opportunities, to get an understanding of the roles I wanted to apply to, but by the time YNJ completed their services, those roles are obsolete. YNJ emphasizes their move toward AI- and tech-driven solutions, but this focus seems out of sync with recent hiring trends and feedback from recruiters nationwide, who have voiced growing concerns about the authenticity and accuracy of AI-generated materials (https://www.nytimes.com/2025/06/21/business/dealbook/ai-job-applications.html?smid=url-share). Unfortunately, that disconnect was evident in the documents I received. They don't need to be experts in every field, but there's a noticeable lack of industry knowledge that makes it difficult for them to highlight critical, role-specific functions. Drafts were returned with errors--including incomplete sentences and exaggerated or unclear claims--so I had to carefully review everything to avoid misrepresenting myself. Revision times of 24-48 hours (even for minor edits) created unnecessary delays in my job search. And conversations with Tim felt rushed and surface-level; I was never fully confident that my feedback was truly understood or applied. I did call YNJ to discuss these concerns before posting this review, but they did not respond, I'm assuming it is because they already received their payment. I had roughly five different hiring managers review their work, and none were impressed. While the general template that they utilize is unique to their services and adds a splash of color amid the monotonous pile of resumes, nothing really stands out. In the end, Your Next Jump's work may serve as a basic starting point, but if you're a professional with a nontraditional background, transitioning industries, or aiming for mid-to-senior level roles, you'll likely need to invest significant time refining their drafts yourself--or seek more strategic, personalized support elsewhere.

I have never wrote a review before but feel obligated to due to my experience…read more I purchased the Job Search essential package for fixing up my resume and I have to say I am incredibly disappointed with the service. They didn't bother trying to understand my job or what career I am looking for and basically just copy and pasted my previous resume but in a different template. The very few changes they made were sentences that were incoherent, repetitive (used the same sentence several times throughout the resume), and full of typos. No amount of "unlimited back and forth between the writer" is going to salvage poor and lazy writing. You're better off saving your money and doing it yourself or passing it through ChatGPT (which I am pretty sure they are doing anyways). The 5/5 star reviews for this company are clearly purchased/bots. Christina J.'s review is spot on for the experience

We worked with Steven for two years without…read moreincident - I wouldn't say he did a great job or was particularly communicative but our taxes always got filed and we aren't aware of errors. However this past year he dodged my emails/phone calls, my husband's emails/phone calls, and my elderly mother's emails/phone calls (we all file separately). He once picked up the phone and then pretended to be someone else when he realized I was calling for an update on my taxes. He lied to us about filing for an extension and took forms from my mother that he never returned. Ultimately he stopped replying entirely and we had to look for a new accountant, several months after the filing deadline. I just got a notice that I owe several thousand dollars in late filing fees because it turns out he also lied about getting an extension. I don't know what is going on and while I wish Steven no ill will, please do not work with this firm or him. I don't want this to happen to anyone else.

I was more than satisfied with their explanation and eagerness to earn my business and trust. I've taken them up on the offer to work with them so have updated the review initially and provide a final review once completed. ______________________________ Let me say the reason I reached out to Capitol CPA is because of their excellent reviews and they were my first pick. However, it's difficult to go with a company or trust them with your taxes when they can't even respond to you in a timely manner or at all. Let me detail my experience below: December 16, 2019: Send an inquiry through their website asking about availability for new clients. Receive a response from Steven that they're currently evaluating their capacity and will get back to me in a week. I respond immediately asking if I should follow up in a week or if they'll let me know? *CRICKETS* December 26, 2019: Ask for an update. Hear nothing, follow up with an inquiry through their website December 31, 2019: Receive a response from Steven apologizing for letting this slip through the cracks. They have room for new clients and ask for information. I respond an hour later with the information. *CRICKETS* January 19, 2019: Another follow up. Ask for an update. *CRICKETS* January 31, 2019: I give up. I reached out to three other companies and they immediately responded, asked for my tax information which I provided, and... immediately responded. So thank you Capitol CPA for wasting my time.
