Do not bring your stuff here. In 35 or so years of being a consumer, this was hands down the worst experience I've ever had. The Owner (or person you deal with at least) is a hot head and has zero inclination of what customer service means. My story starts 10 to 12 weeks ago when I went in to have some boat seats reupholstered. I was told they would be ready in about 2-weeks. No problem as I was not in any rush. At least 6-weeks went by and I didn't hear anything so I stopped back in to find my stuff untouched. At that time the guy helping me offered no apology and basically said I don't know what you want me to do about it. I should have taken my business elsewhere, but instead asked how much longer and was told about 2-weeks again. I said I could wait a couple of more weeks but really needed it to be a couple of weeks this time. After this conversation another 4-weeks went by and I didn't hear anything so I stopped by again. Guess what, the seats still hadn't moved from their spot in the corner 12-weeks earlier. The guy comes to the counter and I said I'm checking in on my seats but I see they're still sitting here. He says "oh yeah, I might not be able to get to it." At this point I have every right to be angry but all I said was you need to have the courtesy to let someone know when things aren't going as expected. He offered zero apology, got defensive and went into his whole what do you want me to do about it routine once again. He then says so take your seats as if I had any other choice when you just said you don't think you can get to them. I kept my cool but once again stated that it wasn't good business and that he could've called me. At this point he basically lost his mind. I'll quote one of his line here "what the F is wrong big dog; your arms don't work"? "You need me to carry your stuff out"? I said no I'll handle it and he say then what the F are you doing still standing here. I could've lost control right here but held my composure and went about carrying my seats out. He comes over and tells me to get the F out of his shop. He then brings the last cushion out to the parking lot and said F you to me several more times despite no further provoking on my part. Beyond the way I was treated and the fact that we could've easily ended up at blows had I not held it together, I've now lost 12-weeks and have to start back at square one. It is amazing to me that anyone can conduct business in the manner and keep the doors open. Do yourself a favor and take your work elsewhere. Anywhere else will be better. read more

I needed a custom shade top made for an off-road vehicle. I spoke with Raul, and scheduled to bring the vehicle in. After bringing my vehicle in, I went over all the details with Al, the person who would be making the top. This was a unique top with custom detail, but Al listened and paid attention to every detail. Al modified my partial existing top, and added new sections just like I asked. The work turned out perfect. Can't wait to use this top off-road! The initial concept for this top when I originally scheduled with Raul, required more material and more work. I have been coming to this shop for a very long time. I had the drivers seat repaired in my 1996 Ford Probe. I had the drivers seat repaired in my 2006 Ford F150 and just recently I had a new convertible top replaced in my 2001 BMW Z3 Roadster. All jobs done perfectly. The top on my roadster is absolutely great! OEM perfect! The price was great, the product was great, the time frame was exactly as stated when I got my quote. Based on the reviews we were excited to give this place a try. I called about getting a quote on some cushions and were told we could come on by. We arrived within 20 minutes and were told that the furniture guy had just left, but if we left our cushions they would call us with a quote. A few days later my husband called and was told that the furniture guy was very busy but would get back to him. A week later we went back and picked up our items, having never heard from them. When we walked in and told the woman behind the counter that we wanted to retrieve our items (which we still sitting where we had left them in the front area the week before) because we hadn't had any call back, her response was 'that doesn't surprise me'. A major bummer, but we happily found another place that was open, reasonably priced, and had our items done in less than a week. read more

It is impossible to describe in words the fine work done by this establishment. I've had two vehicles, one they rebuilt the front seat on a 1976 Ford Pick-up years ago when Raul ran the counter. And now recently my 2007 Jetta that needed the headliner replaced and Raul's son Michael was at the counter. Took our 16' trampoline mat in for a repair on two of the straps that the springs hook onto. The service was great, they didn't even charge me. They asked if I wanted to reinforce the other 82 straps for $40. I decided to wait. Two weeks later I had another strap broke so I decided it was time to have all the straps reinforced. We took it back in and were quoted $100. We explained they told us $40 two weeks prior but they wouldn't budge and insisted they would have never quoted that low. I wanted to support local business so I brought my vehicle seats in to be reupholstered with a custom touch. We were told it would take 2-3 weeks. I stayed in contact every few weeks and was told they were busy with other jobs and that mine would be started that next week. I called for 8 weeks...always friendly, never rude but still got the run around. Finally I asked if they could be done within 2 weeks and was told that custom cars do not pay their bills, the big jobs from corporations and dealerships are more important and that they do not appreciate feeling pressured..THEY told me TWO WEEKS. We have had multiple repairs done by highlands starting from 2 convertible tops first on a mustang and another on a Camaro my dad has the Camaro 6 years later still in nice condition. Have had car seats padded and restitched for my parents Acura and Jeep Grand Cherokee as well as a headliner for my Jeep Cherokee. Just had a motorcycle seat done and asked for modifications and a special request and they called me just before they did it to make sure they were doing exactly what I wanted. They told me it would be done in a week and it was done just short of a week. Love their work, and the prices are fair. I will be continuing to bring my work back to them. read more

I had my convertible top on my Porsche replaced here. Raul and Mike were courteous and quoted me a reasonable price for doing this job that I thought was a bit too much for me to try myself. When I got the car back the next day, the top was installed perfectly and the car looked great. Had my headliner done on my truck. They did a great job on the headliner, but when i got my truck back the outside was covered in spots of glue. When I mentioned it to them they said that when they sprayed the new glue on the new headliner the over spray must have gotten on the truck. They did not offer any compensation. read more

I have taken numerous item to be recovered, repadded, carpet redone in my car. These guys can match colors with vinyl even the rest of the car interior is done in leather. The service is great, the prices are right. The turnover for a job is prompt and accurate. The shop may look a bit dated, but as long as I've lived here in Sacramento, I heard and experienced that these guys are the best. They have been around as long as I can remember.
