First visit with the goal of getting a new dentist. I found the entire set up very informative and professional. The staff goes out of their way to be friendly. I didn't exactly understand what all the high tech being in house can accomplish but it was nice they wanted new patients to see how up on things they are. The appointment went about how I expected. They took their time getting a base line for my dental needs moving forward. Made me feel like they wanted to be doing the best for what I needed. To those saying they hard sell - I found that wasn't the case at all. They brought up options but never once pressured anything and are wanting to go once step at a time in the areas that need more urgent attention. I really wanted to like this place because of the convenient location, but after a few bad experiences I've decided to go elsewhere. They were constantly upselling something and when I finally gave in to replace a crown, it never felt good. I had to get it replaced by another dentist less than 6 months later. I have experienced extreme anxiety with dental appointments. At my last appointment I had an anxiety attack in the parking lot of Highland Ranch smiles. I let the girls up front know. Without any compassion they let me know that Dr. Michelle Haynes was unwilling to work with me and they needed to cancel my appointment. If you have anxiety at all, this is not the place for you. I really want to give them a better rating but after a few trips to this dentist I think I'm done. First, they told me I needed to replace a filling when my last dentist told me I didn't. After convincing me I should, I did. A few months later I had a hairline fracture on the same tooth. They denied that could have happened as a result of the filling replacement. Maybe it wasn't, but according to a simple google search other dentists would say different. When I was getting the cap on my tooth, the assistant was very rude. I kept telling her she was gagging me. At one point, she started huffing and puffing that she couldn't get scans of my tooth and it was eating into her lunch break. It was unfortunate as I definitely didn't want to be there either but to be treated that way because I gave her some feedback was concerning. I have been a customer at this practice for several years. Today was my last visit. I was there for regular cleaning and xrays, no flouride, no insurance. Apparently, they think pretty highly of themselves as the bill came to $161 for xrays, $135 for cleaning, and $74 for a three minute eval from not even my regular dentist. The total was $370.00, again without insurance - which is absolutely absurd. And finally, when trying to schedule my next cleaning (I go twice a year) I was told they had nothing available for 8 to 9 months and their practice was so large now they simply could not get me in at all in June or July which was 7 months out. I must admit though, they are good. But do yourself a favor-find a smaller dentist that cares about keeping customers and charging fair prices. I'm done with HR Smiles. read more

I was feeling sensitivity in one of my teeth and suspected that my filling had fallen out or was loose. Dentist did not believe me / didn't see anything wrong with it. She sent me on my merry way after explaining some not-helpful things to me abt why I might be experiencing random pangs. Since then, the sensitivity has just been getting worse to the point that it freaking hurts to floss that tooth. Not impressed by this dentist at all. Going to go somewhere else. I was thrown off by the 3.5 star rating this dental office had, so I investigated further looking at the 1 & 2 star reviews. In short, disregard them, they're some of the stupidest reviews I've read and because of dopes like that using Yelp, it really gives good places a bad name. I'm a transplant from Philadelphia/South Jersey and have always have a fear of dentists. It's odd because my grandfather was a very well known dentist in Philly, and after him I've only been to two other dentist over 30 years. When I lived in LA I would schedule my dentist appointments around when I was flying back East, that's how crazy I am. So moving to Colorado gave me some trepidation about finding a new dental office. This office comes highly recommended by a close family friend, and if you look at their Google reviews, they have a 5 star rating with over 500 reviews. Please don't even consider the low reviews, they're obviously from people that are scorned or just plain dumb! This practice is fantastic! I first met with Dr. Haynes, then Dr. McCabe, who went to Temple Dental, the same school as my grandfather, and one of the best in the country. Dr. McCabe performed an extraction on a broken tooth, and let me tell you, it was done in less than 10 minutes and I didn't feel a thing! I'm not bullshitting, absolutely nothing. They provide Nitrous for patients that request it, they were extremely thorough in explaining everything that would happen and what I would be getting after the area healed. Everyone was extremely nice and personable, and again, everything was pain free. Which to me is one of the most important aspects of going to a dentist. I highly recommend Highlands Ranch Smiles and I'm very lucky to have found my new dentist office in Colorado. Check them out! read more

After seeing my x-rays when I was in for routine cleaning & check-up, I was told I needed a crown on a tooth that had an old filling. So Michelle Haynes did the crown and I paid my portion of what I was suppose to owe. But now, I receive a TEXT stating I owe an additional $380.00. So I called my insurance and was told that my x-rays did not support the need for a crown. From the x-rays sent in with the claim, they determined by both their expert dentist and a third party dental expert, that all the tooth called for was a three surface filling, so that was all my insurance was going to pay for. When I called and talked to the girl at Smiles, she said there really wasn't anything she could do. When I explained I have never had a crown denied before at my last dentist, she actually stated that they see a lot of claims denied for this same reason. I told her "That's Alarming". My insurance rep advised if they or anyone recommends a crown to have the x-rays sent to them prior to having it done. Advise I will surely heed. read more

Do NOT trust them!! I had 2nd and 3rd opinion done based on their Xrays their plan for me which included 7 expensive treatments. The two separate dentists saw no reason for these services based on the same xrays from Highlands Ranch Smiles. What a joke! I did 3 fillings with them mistakenly and their price was 75% more than the other two dentists I saw with insurance coverage. Both dentists agreed, based on highlands ranch smiles xrays (which is had sent over) before these fillings were done showed no concerns for any fillings in the 3 they did. Highlands ranch smiles also said I needed a root canal and wanted to send me to another specialist and then back to their office for a crown.. Come to find out there was no need for a root canal on this tooth both other dentist told me this. It already had a root canal and the crown broke so it just needed to be replaced. I wanted to get a second opinion because I just didn't get a good feeling from these woman, always trying to sell you something when you come in. Seemed untrustworthy. I'm happy I got another opinion. Additionally, I want to relay that I never told either of the two new dentists of the diagnosis I received from highlands ranch smiles until after their recommendations. And both dentists had the same recommendation for me, one filling and one crown. Highlands ranch smiles recommended two root canals and crown, and 4 fillings!! So glad I did my research. Highlands Ranch Dental is like a shady mechanic and they are much more expensive than other places. They try to woo you with gifts and cards but that's their way of making you feel like they really care. DO NOT trust them. read more

Cracked a tooth this weekend and went to Highlands Ranch Smiles to have it repaired. The office assured me they were in-network but when I reviewed the cost estimate for a crown discovered it was twice as much as my last crown. Almost $800 more for the same service. After researching, found Dr. McKeever is actually not in-network with Metlife and can charge whatever she wants. She takes Metlife as a partial payment but does not follow normal and customary charges for my zip code. The office was well maintained and the dentist professional but it is really frustrating to waste an entire morning with a dentist who was not honest. read more

I finally don't dread visits to the dentist anymore, thanks to Highlands Ranch Smiles! I've been coming to this place for about 2 years now and all the hygienists, Drs, and staff are super friendly! The clinic is clean and theirs gloves smell like bubblegum and grape. Like most people, I used to dread going to the dentist. Ever since I've been here, I no longer have that fear. From sealants to fillings, to fixing chips, I've had pretty much all my major dental work done here with no issues and very little pain. Their equipment is very modern and there is very little wait time once you get in. During each cleaning visit, they provide you with a new toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss. I'm a wimp when it comes to shots of any kind and especially ones in the mouth. The staff made my experience super comfortable and talked me through the whole process. I've been coming to Highlands Ranch Smiles for dentistry for over ten years. In the very earliest years, it was a totally different clinic run by a different dentist. Dr. Michelle Haynes took over around 2011 or so, and she has been an excellent dentist for me the whole time. Her practice has grown a lot over those years, too - she now has two other dentists working with her (I've had good experiences with both) in addition to her staff of hygienists and office folks. Everyone has always very professional and friendly. In addition to regular twice-yearly checkups, I've had to have the occasional filling and most recently a crown for the first time in my life. Nobody likes to go through tough dental procedures, but Dr. Haynes and her team make it as pleasant as possible! I was nervous about the crown, but the whole process went really smoothly. A day later, I barely feel any cold sensitivity and no pain. Even though I moved from Highlands Ranch to Denver a few years ago, I keep making the drive back to Highlands Ranch Smiles every six months for my dental checkups. I'm a happy customer. read more

Good dentist practice but it seems like I was always being sold something. Nice doctors and hygienists but felt strong armed a bit when it came to the financial side. I bought a very expensive whitening kit that I ended up changing my mind about but they wouldn't give me my money back. They did credit my account the amount but it left a bad taste in my mouth (no pun intended) and I don't think I'm going to go back. These girls had the ball to send me to a collection company for a charge of an appointment that I didn't attend and cancelled a week in advanced, in addition to me finding out that they were charging my insurance and my ex's insurance for a the same cleaning for one of my children , when I confronted their accountant lady she said was a mistake. I'm going to call the insurance companies so they can open some investigations with this practice, in addition to having a lawyer look into this collections charge. This practice is there no caring about you but is all about the money, I left their practice after finding out about the insurance issue and after the multiple harassment sessions I had to go through when checking out after a cleaning. They not only overcharge for their services, but when you are trying to leave their office they stop you and harass you to book other services and is hard to leave. I have been going here for many years. I had pretty decent experiences here until today. Today I went in for my 6 month checkup. My hygienist and I were making small talk while she worked on my teeth. I had mentioned I had been living in LA for the past couple months. My hygienist asked if I had a car with my in LA. I told her that I did not, and was okay with that, fine with not having to deal with crazy LA traffic. My hygienist then proceeded to say the following, "Times are changing. This country is going through something right now. People come into this country. And they all have a ton of kids." As a proud Mexican man, I was both deeply offended at the blatant racism and disappointed this hygienist felt it okay to share her disgusting opinion. Highlands Ranch Smiles is a great denistry place! Dr. McKeever is my favorite. She is always so nice, friendly, fun and helpful when I ask questions about my teeth. I have used insurance in the past and paid out of pocket in the past. Some of my insurance experience has not been ideal but that is typically because my insurance coverage. The office staff are very helpful in explaining what insurance covers, why and the amount I would owe. I would recommend for people who have insurance and who do not have insurance because it is affordable both ways for a teeth cleaning. My husband got invisiline from Highlands Ranch Smiles. He loved not having braces and enjoyed the simplicity of the process of straightening teeth. The staff is super friendly and welcoming...they even have a gift for you if you are a new patient (hint: it's a travel mug!). Don't come to this office if you don't want to be charged the highest premiums. I will hand it to them that their office is one of the fanciest around. You even get a "free" gift at your first appointment. I can see why! I was told at my initial consultation that I had seven cavities, and I was quoted an enormous amount for my next appointment. I went to two popular dentists in the community to get second and third opinions. Both said I had an extremely healthy mouth and that I had only two minor cavities. Went to Highlands Ranch Smile this morning for a cleaning and checkup, the hygienist insisted for me to do a deep cleaning or else she wouldn't clean my teeth at all! This is something I never heard of....refusing service! I left without the cleaning! I'm going to report this to the Dental Association and Goggle review.
