I went in to have a fill. I am new to the area and heard they were a good place. I told Ryan that I wanted a fill and that I felt that my nails were a little thicker than my previous nail tech normally does and could he make them thinner. Ryan told me that I had to have them removed and I needed a new set for him to fix them. Spent $80.00 + tip on too long super thick nails 1/4' thick nails. I went back in and asked him to make them shorter and make them thinner, he did but still WAY too thick, tipped for time because I felt guilty. I thought I would just suck it up and wait for fill time and try someone else, but then they started to lift bad on the right hand, I got one caught and it broke. Went back in and showed the manager my nails. Ryan soaked them off and "TWO" replaced my nails with new thin narrow nails, they looked great. No charge but I tipped her for her time. 4 days the right hand started to lift bad again, I sucked up the lifting and waited for fill time. Went in to pay for fill, TWO was busy I got Ryan again. I asked for a manicure because if they don't clean up my nails and cuticles they tend to lift. I got soaked in lukewarm warm water and my cuticles cut, literally he actually hurt me. Paid 60.00 for fill, nail art and 10.00 for him to hurt me and cut my cuticles, no manicure! I asked for red French tips. He had me check the first nail and he said "this ok don't come back and complain!" He only put one coat on, I asked for another and he said no it will mess up! It looks pink it's so light! I spent $170.00 total between work and tips and my nails have looked awful. See pictures! read more

I had a really bad experience at another spa a month ago and whatever they did ruined my long beautiful natural nails And I lost six of my gel toenails polish within a week of having them doneI was very hesitant to get my nails redone. I want to get a full set with gel fill and a very nice manicure. I read that Highland nail and spa had a great review on yelp and Google so I decided to try their services. When I say the difference between the two visits between the two places I went was like night and day. Highland is very calming and relaxing. I know for a fact, the technicians knew what they were doing, and I didn't feel as if they didn't or uncomfortable. They were very gentle and very accommodating. The only thing I would say is that it was a little pricey than what I was wanting to pay for. Went to highland Nails Bar today and got the most subpar pedicure for almost $90 dollars. What!!! Sanitation was incorrect, she literally pulled out a case of drill bits that hadn't been cleaned one time in all their uses. Used nail files in her pedi box and the dust and grime in all cup holders about made my skin crawl as I sat there. Couldn't bother to trim my cuticles or cut my nails to be even. Asked her to clean under my nails ( they're clean already it just should be done as part of a pedi) she literally just stared at me because she doesn't speak English. My $20 dollar gel add on is full of bubbles and not painted all the way to the cuticles or cured correctly. It's a no for me. Such a no Save your money, and lower your risk of infection and go somewhere else read more

Sue did it again- every time this business gets better- which is hard to do when you're already offering superior service. The extra touches like heated neck wraps, steamers on legs during pedicures, and excellent customer service from the entire staff make this a must-do every time we visit. If I could, I would give this 0 stars! I went with friends and family to get my nails done for a very important event, and all was going well until I get to dinner later that night. While picking up my food about it fly one of my $95 nails pops off! Kid you not, five minutes later another one pops off. So the following morning I respectfully call the salon and tell them about my problem and what had happened. In return the lady I talked to was very rude, and blamed ME for the nail popping off. After that I brushed it off, and decided to come up to the salon and voice my concerns with the nails that had fallen off, and when I arrived I asked for a refund or to be compensated because my nails popped off within a short time of getting them put on. The nail tech was very rude, and would not let me finish what I needed to say, so respectfully I left. All in all, the people here are nice enough, but the quality in their performance is not worth it, especially not for $95. read more

They have frequent turnover of nail techs so you never know who you'll get. Some have been excellent and then they're gone. The last 3-4 times have not been great. The men are all way too rough and cut you with their ramped up drills and leave product on your skin. The girl who has done mine two times also leaves product on my skin around and under my nails and NONE of them rub oil or lotion on your hands any more. Very disappointing. read more

my finished nail product looked great but the care for my actual nails was not good . these people used a plastic unused nail to scrape and peel off my old nails instead of soaking it off. This hurts so bad and he's so bad for my nail. they were really rough I don't recommend and the people were up and moving and working while I was getting my nails done and it took forever No hate to the people, but I think this place can improve a lot. read more

I was glad to be able to get in right away with my friend. That's the only Positive about my experience. I requested a dip (manicure) and a pedicure. My friend wanted a pedicure. They asked me what color I wanted. I said I don't know. Where is your selection to choose from? They insisted they would bring to me. What color did I want? I didn't know, but said I wanted something in blue. They came back with a bottle and said, "You do this." Wait, what?! I'm not allowed to see a color selection? I asked again for choices that I could look at. They said "This blue will look good on you. You do this." I felt pushed. I liked the color so I agreed, but thought how odd. They then asked if I wanted gel or regular polish on my toes. I wanted gel, thinking it would last longer. It's what I normally get so my polish doesn't chip. They didn't tell me it would be an additional $15 for gel polish. Two days later, the polish was chipping off my toes! I was so upset. I couldn't go back up there to get them fixed because of my inability to drive (long story...recent surgery). I talked to my friend about the polish chipping. She said, "What do you mean you got "gel" polish? "My guy asked me what color I wanted and I said I like the color you had. He used the same bottle on me but didn't charge me an additional $15 for gel polish. You know why? It wasn't gel polish!" I felt rushed, manipulated, and their constant trying to up-sell me was stressful. I wanted to have a nice relaxful time with my bestie, but instead it ended up being a very poor job. In fact, two of my fingernails broke...and this is something that VERY rarely ever happens. So, will I go back? No. Would I recommend them? No. I always say that a nail salon is only as good as the technician you get. Maybe I got two bad techs working on me that day. :( read more

At the Highland Nail Bar, Nancy and Emily tag-teamed to deliver both a Delux Pedi and Ombré French Manicure. There was no time spent soaking off my old polish in drying acetone, like in some local salons I won't mention. Emily wrapped my nails in foil and took the time needed to take off old polish while I relaxed in their massage chair and Nancy performed magic on my dry, tired soles. Update: 9/6/2017 - This place has gone downhill. I don't know if it changed management or what but it definitely isn't as clean or up to date as it was when it opened. The employees are also not friendly and very rough. My last few experiences have been negative. I've been waiting for weeks for this place to open and I finally got to go today! It's so beautiful inside and the owners, Thomas & Lynn, are so sweet. I've been to every single nail place in town but either: the owners are nice but the salon isn't clean or the salon is great and people are meh. I've been to most of the nail salons in Granbury, and Highland Nail Bar is, by far, the best one. Very clean and neat. The staff is always friendly and helpful. They have complimentary soft drinks, water, wine and margaritas. I never hear a hint of complaining or talking about customers behind their backs...which do many other nail salons allow. Very well managed. They are always willing to go above and beyond if you have a problem with anything! And that has been rare for me. This is a family run salon. The customer next to me complained so they started on her before they got to me, or the customer on my other side who had been waiting longer than either one of us. Never going back and heres exactly why. Not sure if its just me or what but I set up an appointment at 2pm they said okay thats fine. I was excited for my first time. I showed up as planned and I must have waited literally a good 25mins,which then after I was taken to my chair for my pedi and as soon as I sat down,and they turned the water on,nothing but cold water. It was a older gentleman who set it up and walked away. I was left there looking like a total idiot and literally, 25mins later a woman came and asked if I was getting a pedi and mani. I told her only a pedi like 3 times. They then fussed about what polish I wanted and I told them gel. But they said that was going to be an extra 20 so I changed my mind. It took 10mins just to get them started on my feet after that. So by this point Im livid because service had been lacking respect since I had gotten there (over an hour by this point) Im getting irritated but honestly... I dont want to be the person who seems to be the problem because Im a server and I understand things happen. But I know I wasnt the problem and I sat there trying to get over it but by this point I was getting tired of the cold water I took my feet out and finally the lady asked about the water and if it was cold. I said yes. She then apologized time and time again about it. I said its ok. For some odd reason,service sloped down quick after this. Ok, so I might have been the quiet person who doesnt say something when its not right,but as I said before. Im a server and understand when things can go wrong,but by this point,the lady was handling my feet horribily. Not sure if she was upset with me or what. But she was being rough and when she brought out the hot stones,she didnt even warn me,and BOOM, I felt this hot stab on my leg that I jerked. She had the audacity to ask me if it was hot. Really? "No, I just jerk away because I have random leg spasms." Yeah right! She kept speaking a different language to the others there and sounded irritated. I hated that. When she was done,I then finally got offered a bottle of water. Can you believe that? I definately said,no thanks. I was so mad. So in all,Im thinking,did I do something wrong to these people? Why is it that I seemed to have been the only one with rediculous service that day? Why was I ignored for the first hour and treated like complete trash? I didnt tip her,well ok I did $2 but I dont feel bad. I didnt deserve any of that. But whatever. I didnt say anything except, "Im not coming back." And Im sticking to it. Hate to say it. As far for the decor. I hate a spa with chairs literally beside me and in front. I came to relax,not to worry about whos staring at me or my feet... I've been going to this place for almost a year and they've never disappointed. They now have new owners and it's the worse experience ever. I was told there was a 10-15 minute wait and it was almost an hour, and after that I sat in the spa pedicure chair and my water went cold twice, so that was another 30+ minute wait.
