Challenging course but fun, unfortunately the bar was closed when we played, I guess a maintenance issue which understandably happens. New to the town first time playing this course it is in fantastic condition. Staff is friendly very helpful and awesome. Kudos to the people who keeps the place maintained. Greens are in great condition. I can't wait until we have dry condition, it feels like it's going to be fast. It rain the night before and light rain though out the round, and they let us drive the cart on the grass. I still can't believe this is a public course. Definitely play this course if in the area. read more

I have golfed at courses around American for 6 years using a onewheel(hoverboard) a push cart. This is the first course in my experience this did not allow me to use my onewheel. The guy I talked to or manager that came to tell me this was nice and took my back to my truck to put it in there. I would have gladly payed a cart fee if that was offered so that I can use it. Just sad to see I have golfed here 3 times before with it with no issues. Seems management got strict or something maybe focus on the missing grass on a lot of the holes then someone using a onewheel. read more

This course came highly recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint. I made an error and did not complete the booking through Chronogolf but made the mistake of thinking we still had a tee time. So there we are at the pro shop at 6am without a confirmed tee time. Thank goodness we were fortunate enough to find Jim. Where most other courses would have turned us away, he took the time to work us in at the very last last minute and even one of the local members was kind enough to move his tee time around for us as well. So thankful they were able to get us out there because we had an incredible experience. Course was well maintained, greens were fast but ran true and I ended up carding my lowest round yet. This is now my new favorite course. read more

So far, I only come here for the clubhouse restaurant. By far some of the best service you'll find in the area. Attentive, friendly, and absolutely committed to making your experience the best possible. There are many, many menu options catering items from the carnivore to the vegetarian palette. The serving portions are generous, well presented and most importantly, appetizing! Don't worry, these aren't golf course prices either. The food is priced slightly lower than one would find throughout the area for similar portions and quality. It's a win-win! I've been going to this establishment for nearly a year now, at least monthly, sometimes more frequently, and they have been consistent in every aspect of the experience. read more

Great time on the course and awesome service in the bar aftwaeds. Highland Meadows would be one of the top public courses in the area, except for the greens. I understand they can't control public ignorance when it comes to repairing ball marks.... But the greens are really bad. read more

They charged us twice for the round and range balls. An extra $107.00. They admitted it and apologized and said they would refund the second charge which was great but then they only partially refunded it. When my husband called again, they actually made a joke about us wanting the remainder of the fraudulent charge returned to us as though that was absurd, offering range balls instead. As though i would trust them with my financial information ever again after such dishonest practices. read more

When traveling with my daughter's softball team, three of the other dads invited me to join them for a round of golf on Thursday morning. They thought they had booked the entire foursome for 7:40, but apparently they had only reserved a threesome and someone else had already booked the fourth spot. I showed up Thursday morning as the fourth, and the two people in the golf shop informed me of this unfortunate situation. However, they offered to call the single who booked the fourth spot and see if they would move to a slightly later time, which they agreed to. I was able to enjoy the round of golf with my friends...what amazing customer service!!! By the way, the course was a great layout in terrific condition, and we played in just over four hours. read more

This course and the staff have gone down hill since houses have lined the course. I lived in Cheyenne 03-08 and always enjoyed golfing here, not now. Our tee-time was 8 a.m. and it went down hill from there... - Did not finish until nearly 1pm - Very long course and people were allowed to walk - 0, none, nada, not present.... No marshals on a weekend the entire time we were on the course - No food other than chips and candy bars ready on the turn -- Even muni courses have hotdogs - I push the "service requested" button on the cart 6 times on the back nine. I was trying to get someone to speed up the walkers in front of us and no one EVER came. Glad there wasn't an emergency. - No beverage cart until 9 I gave two stars rather than one because the Bloody Mary on the turn was very good (even though I couldn't get a hot dog) read more

Played a few weeks ago, early Oct. Course was in great shape and as always greens rolled nice. The staff was great, as well as post round meal and drinks on the patio. A super nice bonus was th addition of a pin chart every day. I love courses that provide it to all players. I would recommend this course. read more

If i were judging just the course, i would give this place 5 stars. It's very beautiful, challenging, and extremely well maintained. Unfortunately our experience with the staff darkened our day a bit. When we showed up at our tee time we were told we needed to start on hole #2 because they were "doing something" on the first hole. No biggie, we drive past the first hole - which was completely open by the way - and arrive at the 2nd tee to find two foursomes waiting to tee off. We weren't about to wait for 8 people who haven't even tee'd off yet, so drove back to the first hole. On our way we ran into another pair who were also headed to the 2nd tee. I understand if you are running behind, but cramming 10+ people onto one hole is just bad business. Tee times are held for a reason, it would be nice if you could look into why this happened and provide some guidance to your staff. That said, everyone there was very friendly - but something was amiss with your scheduling that day. We'll probably be back either way, i'd love to revised my rating to 5 stars next time :) read more

I am visiting from out of state. This course has a great layout for an outing of friends or a novice golfer who isn't really up for a challenge. It won "best new course" by Golf Digest in 2005, the fairways were in excellent shape and the tee boxes were flat but that was about it. The course is surrounded by homes and I personally wouldn't call it "pretty"... I didn't take one picture. There was a dress coat on the greens today which made for some slow and bumpy greens... I assume this is not normal. My only other critical comment would be how wet the course was. It was an 85 degree day with no rain in the last several days. My ball plugged a couple times and the sand bunkers were mud. I played from the blue tees but maybe should have played the blacks. The course played quite easy and didn't really ever make you think about holes. Overall a good experience at a good price. 4 stars because I had fun and it wasn't expensive. read more

Hello, I used to golf this course a number of times per year to get some variety in my courses. It "was" a nice change. Seems like the course got a bit pricey in the past few years so I reduced the number of rounds there. I hadn't golfed there this year and went out a week or so ago. I was greatly disappointed even though the price seemed to be lower than I remember. The greens were NOT in good shape and what really got to me was the DO NOT indicate pin placement by their GPS or a placement chart. They have huge greens and if you're out 180 yds with the undulating greens you cannot effectively see where the pin is. it could easily be a 2 club difference. When I asked the pro shop about it they basically shrugged it off. They compete for my golfing dollars. The most I would pay to play here would be $40.00 w/cart. Even at the reduced I would be frustrated. May other courses offer a better golf experience. read more

I've been golfing here for a few years, and it's a very good golf course. It's a links-style layout with few trees, rolling fairways and some "pot" bunkers. Generous fairways lets you rip it off the tee. Conditioning is always great. Greens are good. Several risk/reward options on several holes (notably #6, 7, 14, 15, 17, 18), with good variety. Great views of the front-range mountains (#11 par-3 has Long's Peak as backdrop). GPS in carts a plus. read more
