She had appointments and procedures scheduled every day for a week, and being able to stay so near the hospital was great! I was blown away with RMH! They have thought of and provided everything a family could need while away from home whether for a short term or a long term stay. The house can serve over 170 families, is clean and inviting, and has the happiest staff around. We were met with smiles and encouragement at every turn. The rooms are well outfitted and in good repair. There are activities throughout the day for both parents and children. We used the arts and crafts room, the toy room, the indoor playground, the outdoor playground, the exercise room, the library, and the laundry area. My granddaughter loved the therapy dogs that came to visit. We were served lunch and dinner each day and breads and cereals for breakfast. There was a large family kitchen area that was fully stocked if you wanted to cook your own meal. All of this was provided at no cost to the family. After experiencing this place with my family, I can tell you that I will be an avid supporter of RMH and the services provided to families with children needing medical attention. This is truly love in action.

Four years ago, Nikki started StarfireU as a shy, silent 21-year-old. Today she enthusiastically led me on a tour of her school. StarfireU is a four-year college geared towards individuals with developmental disabilities. Their goal is to enrich lives through unlimited opportunities that build independence and community inclusion. Students have the opportunity to improve social skills, create art, photography, learn yoga, cook, and everything in between. Many go on to lead independent lives and become involved in the community. I sat in on a seminar where the Senior class discussed their capstone projects. Ideas ranged from documenting Cincinnati murals through photography, to fundraising for homeless advocates, to adapting a play from a favorite book. I was beyond impressed with the initiative and support within these classroom walls. StarfireU has been educating adults with disabilities since 1993. Over the years, it has grown from a single classroom to a state-of-the-art facility with computers, roundtable classrooms, and dry erase walls. The facilities are clean and well kept. They do an amazing job caring for my sister who has been there since 2002, in addition to Day Program. When our mother died suddenly, St. Joseph Home went above and beyond to provide support for both of us. They held my hand as I applied for guardianship, assisted with the transition and have been in constant communication regarding my sisters care. As her legal guardian, I have peace of mind knowing that my sister has the very best care around the clock from people I know and trust. They are very open to feedback and consistently reach out about day to day activities, health changes, ideas, and more. I'm grateful for the level of care & home they have made for Rachel. I'm truly thankful for the work these special people do daily.

So impressed with this group. You seriously could not find a better group of staff and volunteers to run such an important organization. They're so nice, would bend over backwards to help someone, and continue to work hard even when a pandemic tries to get in the way! Love this group and the work they do.
