Stay fresh....get a haircut from professionals

I been coming here for a few years now. The gentleman in this barbershop are laid back and professional. Both owners work daily to ensure a high quality of service. I have been allowing lawrence to cut my hair as well as my son and he has been doing am awesome job. The prices kinda steep but hey if you wanna look fresh it pays to be handsome lol

They didn't trim behind my ears? Not the back of my head?

This is my second time at this barbershop, which perhaps is my fault for going back. The first time I went in, someone was sleeping in one of the chairs the others where on their phones watching videos. No one asked me if I needed a haircut or anything which obviously I did. Waited 10 minutes and not one person said anything to me, I ended walking out. As I walked out someone went after me to asked me if I needed a haircut, by the that time I was at my car already. By that time I didn't want a hair cut so I went somewhere else. My second experience I came in someone again was sleeping in one of the seats, the other again watching videos. Waited again, but finally before my 10 minute mark the guy who was watching videos on his phone asked me if I was going to need a haircut and they told me someone would be right with me. Then I get the person who's going to cut my hair in the middle of me explaining to him what I wanted or me trying to convey, he just laughed and ran out of the shop? After a few minutes he came back in with another barber and the other barber told me he would cut my hair, so instead I moved to the other guys seat. My initially barber didn't say anything to me after that.. I asked my new barber what was that all about and he just said it was something in between them? Anyways I got my haircut not exactly what I wanted but hey to me seemed okay. Then my girlfriend pointed out that the back didn't get trimmed, behind my ears weren't trimmed either as you can see somewhat in the pictures. I will not be going back at all, second barber was nice and all but the two experiences aren't enough for any rating higher.

Belair Stable Museum - Shirt on ironing board in Stable Master's Apartment

A continuation of the Belair Mansion tour…read more... Belair Stable Museum is cool for a few reasons. - It's small and therefore a short visit. - The docent is wonderful. - You can actually go in one stable. - You get to hear an old radio. As you walk around, there is quite a bit of reading, so the tour can be anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and a half depending on how much you like to read. Like the mansion, it is self guided. I highly recommend touring the mansion first so you understand more before going in. The one thing I like about both of these tours is the reminder that Bowie once had it's hayday too! (See what I did there? Lol).

When I walked up to the museum I was greeted by a museum worker (I forget his name). He was very…read moreknowledgeable and asked me if I wanted to do a guided tour or self-guided tour. I like to take my time and look at things, so I opted for the self-guided tour. Before I started on my self-guided tour, the museum worker gave me a brief history on everything that I would be seeing. This helped tremendously when I reached certain areas of the museum. The museum consists on the main house, flanked by two stables. The stables on the right contain the Stable Master's quarters. I will warn you that when you walk in the stable on the left side of the museum to be ready for the motion detector that sounds off loud horse noises. I thought I was going to shoot up to the ceiling when that naying came on. This was in the beginning of the tour, which had me tip toeing through the museum because I did not know what would be lurking around each corner. Thankfully the naying in the beginning was all for the surprises. The museum is free, however they do have a donation box. I definitely recommend taking this tour to learn about the history of horse racing not only in Maryland, but in the United States. If you are unable to tour the museum, I uploaded several pictures and you can also check out my blog in regards to the Belair Stable and Mansion at www.SomewhereInDC.com (put belair in the search box for my four-part blog).

I learned about Vitrum through Maryland Hall for the Arts in Annapolis, and the classes offered are challenging and exciting. As a novice, I am treated as welcomingly as the many experienced artists. I never feel like a novice, because Kevin and Judy explain everything so well, that I get a full understanding of the approach, tools and methods for each particular style being taught. The classes are so enjoyable - and the teachers put in a lot of time over and above the class time to make sure that what we produce comes out really nicely - including cold working and firing that can't be finished during class. Vitrum offers great sales on their glass materials throughout the year, and they do a wonderful job of communicating with their customers. Sign-up fast for the classes when they are posted by email - they fill-up really quickly.

Owners/artists Judith Conway and Kevin O'Toole invest huge amounts of personal attention, time and energy in developing unique class offerings that exploit the quality Bullseye glass they stock. The knowledgeable staff, glass artists themselves, are supportive and eager to assist students as they learn new techniques and explore new artistic territory. Classes range from introductory kiln forming to advanced courses on specialty techniques presented by internationally recognized artists. Beginner classes give students an excellent grounding in the science of glass and the rudiments needed to produce quality work. This kind of attention to detail is what sets Vitrum classes apart from others. Class sizes are small enough to afford plenty of individual interaction with instructors. Staff can and does provide advice regarding the level of experience a student needs to be able to fully enjoy the more advanced classes; this is one of the special touches that factor into a truly valuable class experience where all learners are able to progress at a similar pace.
