We've come here for two years now for a private group and it's great. James is probably one the kindest people on this planet. The guys at the front desk are also super chill. It's $15 per person for admission, $20 for all-day gear rental with free air refills. the paintball boxes come with 2,000 balls for $90 each, and we bought about 6-8 for our party of 22. It a bit pricey but it's a great annual experience for us. there's 7 big outdoor maps, and they're open rain or shine. I definitely recommend, you'll have a great time :) read more

Lots of fun, sucks having to use rentals that are far inferior to some of the guns people bring , and getting poorly matched up, but that's just dependent on crowd size who shows up. Either way love it here, had a blast. Will go back read more

The first thing the counter person told us as he handed us our weapons, just go out and have fun. High Velocity Paintball is must if you're looking for a corporate bonding afternoon. What's better than getting together with coworkers and shooting Sid from accounting in the face? Seriously, don't think you're playing with a nerf gun. I'm on the field with a few of the worlds finest, The US Navy. Oh yeah, and Marines as well. Here's the thing, you'll see the motivators dressed in camo gear in the field. Expensive paint ball guns. Extra Paint balls on their utility belts, ready to throw down. Real life combat experience? Zero.zero. It's easy to load up and pepper the entire field with paint balls. We did it using less ammo. There are multiple areas for paint war. The last is the WWII field. More on that in a bit. The first field had helos, jeeps and planes to get a great advantage point. They have the air in the gun set to 2. It's powerful enough, if you get hit you'll get a welt. When I got hit in the thigh? Now I'm pissed and it's on. Man, we flanked these guys and laid down the law. The issue is, you only get so many paint balls. Throughout the day, we all watched other teams talk smack. Now we're in a bombed out housing area. Not too much protection. We're taking heavy crossfire, I got shot in the neck. I'm pissed, not because it hurt like hell but because I made a rookie mistake. Finally, the WWII field. Our team using up all the paint ball ammo. This place is like eBay. You dont Want to get pushed around by the folks who brought their own weapons. We Opened our wallets, bought a Sxxx load of paint balls as well as smoke bombs. (You want a war, it's on) Picture a WWII field in France. There are trenches. Now add smoke to the field. We flanked those SOBs! Haha!! Did we win? Yes but the adrenaline rush, having Fun and smelling Napalm (kidding) made this a fun thing to do. As for my body? I may have the mind of a 21 year old but my body is saying Advil and Lots of it. I *highly* recommend High Velocity Paintball. It's a good bonding experience for both corporate events and buddies who still have one left in them. read more

This was an awesome experience for my son and his friends. Hubby and I decided to reserve a day of paintball fun for my son and some of his classmates. The staff was very helpful with the organization process. Checking in was quick and easy and the guys were very helpful in their explanation and direction. We sat in the car and waited for them to have their fun. We were even able to order pizza for them so they could have a bite to eat during their play time. My son loved the event and I would definitely like to organize something with them again, maybe even for the parents! read more

Very disappointing experience. Given that HV is around 30-50% more expensive than most other fields in the area I would have expected a good experience. While the fields are great (full size trucks, planes, etc) the rest leaves much to be desired. The rental equipment is beyond terrible. Specifically, all of the masks are scratched up beyond the point that they are useful. You can't see anything through them. Luckily I had brought my own but the rest of my group had a very difficult time. Rental guns were ok. The number of walk ons was also ridiculous. At one point there were around 100 people per game which was way too many for the small fields. It's not very fun when there are six people behind every spot that has cover. I would save the money and go somewhere else. read more

It seems odd that I haven't gotten around to reviewing High Velocity since I've been going to HV since I was in high school, but to be honest I don't even remember the first time I started going. I've always just gone there with whatever paltry savings from allowance/work. Now that I'm an upstanding member of society with a job, I can go there regularly. High Velocity Paintball is one of the few dwindling places in NY that you can still play outdoor paintball. From when you pull up into their ample parking lot to when you decide to leave battered in paint, HVP has run one of the tightest ships out there. After you park and get ready head over to the sign up booth at the front to pay for admittance and paint. The prices are, admittedly, a bit high to stomach for some people. For walk on players (people w/o a private group), admission is either $40 or $45. For group prices (minimum 20 people), admission is $25 or $35. The cheaper price option for people with their own equipment. On top of the admission you have to play with field paint, which sells at different price points depending on amount. The best deal is for 2000 rounds for 90$. If you're a newer player I would recommended give or take 500 rounds, and it should last you through the day (split the 2k box with three other people). If it is your first time and since it is quite a lot of money, definitely make the effort and try to find a private group. The staging area is central for access to all the fields and has plenty of amenities. For private groups there are tables with tents and lockers, for the walk ons theres a shaded wooded area with tents. Unfortunately the HVP property doesn't seem to have sewage pipes so you're more or less stuck with portapotties. Their portapotties are actually quite clean compared to other portapotties that I have seen in my life. The staging area also has a gun range where all personal equipment must get chrono'd (tested to make sure their equipment is shooting at safe speeds). You can also purchase and order food from their commissary. The prices are a bit high but staying hydrated is important. High Velocity Paintball has 7 different fields that you will experience throughout a day. Attack and Defend, a smaller map with plenty of cover for moving point to point (Try to take the center asap); Air Force, a field filled with aircraft and oil barrels (staying in the plane is dangerous); The Castle, probably one of the most extensive maps with two castle tower structures that's particularly fun to play capture the flag on (controlling the sides are key); Trenches, a self explanatory field (smoke bombs are great here!); Western, as close to CQB as you can get at HVP (everyone is gonna rotate so if defend your weak side); Woods, with plenty of tree and bush cover (don't stay on the hill for too long); WWI, a huge map with lots of vehicles to take cover behind. For people that have some qualms about shooting each other or people that are looking for a new experience, High Velocity Paintball offers some of the best paintball fields and amenities that I have seen. Although it is a bit expensive, you definitely get what you pay for when you visit. I would also heavily suggest to newer players to make sure you come in a group for your first few times. Sometimes playing with the high tech players can be a bit intimidating but keep in mind it's not the gear that makes you a good player, its the tactics. If you're looking for a great place to try out paintball or a solid regular location for you play, High Velocity should be at the top of your list. Say hi if you bump into me, I usually play once a month on Sundays! PS. Please try and tip your referees, they stand in the sun all day to make sure you have fun! read more

Hello paintballers. Look at yourself, now look at me. Now back at yourself, now back to me! Sadly, you aren't me, but if you played at High Velocity Paintball instead of wasting time at other fields you could PLAY against me. Look down, now look up. Where are you? You're on a field WITH THE MAN YOU WISH YOU COULD PLAY LIKE. What's in your hand? Back at me, I have it, it's the flag you thought you captured on the castle. Look again, THE FLAG IS NOW DIAMONDS!! Anything is possible when you play at High Velocity Paintball.. I'm on a horse. The best outdoor paintball fields on Long Island, no question about it. I've heard people complain about the prices but for a day of paintballing it's typically only $10 more than playing at other fields. If you're coming from the NY metro area or out of state other places are fun enough sure, but you get what you pay for. The staff is friendly, helpful, and most importantly they make sure you have a safe and fun day. The fields are all immensely different and offer challenges for even the most experienced paintball enthusiast. Be sure to come check out the haunted attraction September-November for an experience unlike anything else in the country! I come here at least once a week and my only complaint would be the lack of a yearly big game. It's hardly a problem as everyday is epic at HiVi Paintball! read more

High velocity , WoW! It was off the hook! , it felt like I was at war, paintball flying, and butts getting kicked. The fields are like a battle zones The best one for me was the Wild West and I also loved the castle , even though I got shot while I was reloading. You have to be fast, when playing in the field. The cost isn't that bad, $25 dollars to enter and air all day, now for the paintball that's a whole different story, they cost $82 dollars for 2000 balls, at the shop, but on the field it's $90. So stop at the shop before going over. And if you don't have gear, they will also provide you with it for $30 dollars, just check out their website. Hope to see you out there. read more

$40 admission if you have your own gear $45 admission if you need to rent gear You have to buy paintballs from the place (you cannot bring your own) There's 7 maps to play and you are separated into low/high categories. You are only out if you get shot on your body. Workers here are chill and friendly. My favorite map is the Castle one, followed by the Woods. Bring your own food if you want to save some money. There are storage bins on each table for you to keep your stuff while you play. There's about a 7 minute break cycle between each map rotation. read more

All around great experience. I made a reservation for my teenage daughter, and my partner's family (uncle, aunt, two teenage boy cousins). The reservation was easy to make, easy check-in, great explanation of the rentals, assigned referee who was glad to answer questions and offer options of play, and great fields. We were playing amongst each other only at first, and then played with others as our reservation was for walk-on play. Eventually we ended up playing a few games where a little over 20 people were on the field. The refs were great with paint checks and calling hits. I also appreciated that the red had me chrono when he noticed I brought my own marker, very aware and responsible of him. I will definitely be coming back with more folks. Thank you, High Velocity! read more

Paintball is a sport, but it's also an experience. Where you play definitely can make or break a day. If you've played at high velocity, you know there's few other fields that can beat it, I've gone pretty much all over new jersey and long island and this one is one of the top of my list. Prices: The prices are very high, but you get what you pay for. During on season (non winter months) Its pretty much 25 entry + 15 air = $40 entry + a case of 2000 rounds for 90 at the field or 75 at the proshop which is a mile away. They do not mention about the discount paint at the proshop but the option is there to stop by there first before going to the field. Unprepared customers pay the price. Fields: Absolutely the best fields money can buy. They have a real stone castle with a lower level so you can sneak around the "trenches" or stay high above and fight your way to the flag on the other side. They also have decommissioned aircrafts and vehicles in their world war II field. They put money into their fields, none of the usual wooden planks, spools and other random construction materials used to craft the run of the mill bunkers. Food: They have a food booth that sells marked up food since there's nothing close by to the field. You can also have the local domino's deliver there as I've done it with large groups, which I find is the best option since you can stack up on $5 pies :) I would say if you don't get to play very much but you want the fun, this is the field to shell out the cash for. read more

In the middle of January I am asked do you want to go paintballing next week. Instantaneously a few things flash through my head: are you crazy? It's going to be cold, will the paintballs even pop open or will they hit like solid rocks because the paintballs are frozen, nah they do pop. Since this winter has been like fall or spring. I agree because of the mild temperatures. The day comes and we are at High Velocity in the aftermath of a 2-3 inch snow drop. The sun is out but we are in Siberia in the middle of the Cold War during World War II. Nothing has changed since the last time I was in these terrains. This field is still hollowed out prop planes, vehicles and bunkers played on sand and soil. Another field has an abandoned church, houses and shacks like the old west. The most memorable field is of course the castle field, like with guns shooting in the time of Sir Lancelot. The goal in the castle field is to run through the walls, pathways and under passages to capture your opponents flag without being shot. Each field pretty much has trenches and little hills to hide behind you better take cover because not everyone is shooting the same. You have experienced and the novice, those that are part of a team play with first timers. And it's different if you walk-on and join others or bring a group and play separately as a party. You can request to play "Iron Man" usually in the last game where even if you get shot out you can keep going until you give up because you run out of paintballs or hurt too much. Basics: ---Admission: Depends on day or situation: walk-on $25-Free, group rate $10-$15 ---Unlimited Air: $15 ---Rental: $20 (Mask, Tank, Marker, Loader/Hopper), Free: Bring your own ---Paintballs: Depends how many you want: about $90 for max case (2000) and $75 at Pro Shop, cheaper for 1000 or less. Services: ---Snack Stand ---Co2 and Compressed Air fill ---Port A Potty ---Sinks with spray and clean rags to wipe your gear ---Tables with big bins to lock your stuff (bring a locker combination lock) ---Allen keys available in the test firing area with a FPS reader. The referees are good, they will tell you what's a No and what's a Go. I hate when amateurs fool around thinking they are in a Rambo movie and play around with their marker barrels uncovered. Staff will remind you to keep your barrel condom on and keep your mask on in the field for safety. They will explain things to the best they can if asked. But don't expect too much servicing if maintenance is needed here. ---Nothing is indoors read more

An absolutely awesome field. I play speedball predominantly, but when I DO play scenario, this is the only field I'll go to. The staff is courteous, and the fields are amazing. Left off a star for the pricing. It IS worth the high price, but $90 a case makes paintball inaccessible for many people, especially when you're charging for air and every possible add-on. Hi-Vi = Amazing but expensive NYC Paintball = OK but inexpensive Cousins Paintball = Crap and expensive. Play @ Hi-Vi or NYC. They're the only 2 choices in NY as far as I'm concerned. ESPECIALLY try to make it out for one of hi-vi's big games. Hundreds of people mowing faces simultaneously is the most fun you can have paintballing. read more

This is my usual go to location for paintball since the drive here isn't too long and the fields are outstanding. They have a good amount of fields here and are very well maintained. They only have one field that's a true woodsball field while all the others are out in the open but have structures and props. You also have two fields that are similar to fighting in the trenches. Air fills are good as I haven't had to wait on line very long. Bathrooms consist of porta-johns. They sell snacks and you can have pizza delivered there. This location is field paint only meaning you can only use the paint they sell. Paint prices here are a bit insane but nothing like what my friends in Canada pay. You're paying close to $100 for a case of paint at the field. Go to their pro shop located about 3-5mins away and grab a case for $86 after taxes. It's still pricey but I try to justify it by thinking of it as toll money if I had gone to Liberty Paintball. Refs here are a mixed bag. Some of them you can tell just don't really give a damn while others are trying to make your experience a excellent one. Quality of their paint. In the Spring, Summer and Fall it okay for the most part. Sometimes they're really oily and you can see it on the plastic or the pool at the bottom of the bag. Sometimes the dimples are a little too much and that's when I complain. In the winter, they don't use winter formula paint so you're still paying that high amount for paint that will basically explode in your barrel or breach. Bring the price of the paint down, offer winter paint for the winter and I'll give it 5 stars and sing the praises of High Velocity all over the place. read more

Been coming to this paintball field for many years, I usually have private parties of 20+ and more every time I come here so it's always a lot of fun and to avoid mixing with other walk on people. 7 different fields ranging from airplanes to wild West and to capture the flag in a castle setting. One downfall is that we're not allowed to bring our own paint, could save a bunch of money if we could, and that there's a separate location to buy paint and paintball gear which is about a mile away before the actual outdoor paintball field. The paint is cheaper too at the supplies location instead of the actual field too so that's quite inconvenient to overcharge people at the field. I definitely recommend this place to people to experience a fun and challenging game with friends or even with other players. Just avoid playing with children if you get mixed with them, I've had my fair shares of cheaters and trigger happy kids who keep shooting after I'm clearly out, seriously book a private party reservation to avoid all of that. Travel time from NYC is about 45 minutes to an hour, they serve food and drinks and you can order pizza for delivery so need to worry about getting hungry :). read more

My first experience with paintball goes back to the mid 80s when it was a bunch of guys running around in the woods playing capture the flag with 10 shot pump pistols - and it was called 'The Survival Game'. I had not played since the early 90s until finally I got back into it a few years ago. Needless to say I am showing my age but the experience has evolved on so many levels. This brings me to my experience with High Velocity. I read the other reviews here and these guys pretty much hit the nail on the head with everything. Sure, it is a bit pricier but if you are a paintballer, you will immediately know where the extra couple of dollars went. The place is highly professional and organized. Granted, not every paintball experience will be the same (referees miss some calls, players are not exactly honest, etc) but they do as good a job as possible. There is a strong emphasis on safety that I have not experienced at other venues and this makes a difference when I bring my 11 year old son and nephew. There are several fields that offer a different theme. Plenty of parking, assembly areas with picnic tables with locker boxes where you can lock your valuables. Sinks for cleanup up and even porto potties that are not disgusting and seem like they are actually cleaned after each day. The pro shop guys are friendly, knowledgeable, professional and accommodating. I would give an extra star if it weren't for the so many a la carte extras that seem to be designed to squeeze an extra buck here and there. All day air should be a courtesy, not an extra. But that is just my opinion. Apparently it is something they can charge as I would rather go here and pay the extra money instead of Cousins which many - including myself - find terrible. If pricing was more accommodating, I would find myself going more often and business is all about increasing the frequency of a repeat customer. A good experience overall. Two thumbs up!!! read more

Just finished a day at this facility and had a fantastic time. Came with a walk-in group of three and played as much as we wanted to. Rental equipment is well maintained - staff is super friendly and helpful (shoutout to Stan the owner who is a very cool Army vet) - lots of space to spread out and wait in-between games. Actual playing field is fun and quite large but beware of the slippery gooey floors. Years of paint accumulation is inevitable but just something to prepare for (i.e. Don't wear flat soled shoes / cleats are a huge advantage). Only other hiccups are the refs - who are a bit on the younger side. Rouge players ran amuck a few rounds we were in and weren't called on their rule violations (i.e. Shooting other players after being hit). In the future we will likely stick to the outdoor fields just for variety reasons but this location is a solid choice for getting your paint on. read more

Service is A+. Easily the best paintball store I've gone to. Moreover, we had a party last year at their outdoor field and the staff was helpful, the refs were understanding and fair. High Velocity would be great for people to play paintball if they fixed some of the issues that made my experience much worse. The maps were creative, and well designed. When I first got there, there was maybe 15 people on each team, and everyone followed the rules. Then later, there were almost 40 people on each team (when there were plenty of maps open) and people would purposely shoot their own team members, and other people would continuously shoot someone after they shot them once, and when people had their hands up, and were walking out. Outside of paintball, it is a terrible place to bring kids even if they won't be playing paintball. Some of the employees would smoke near crowds of people, and use foul language near younger kids. read more

$25 for entrance $15 for unlimited air- (why this is not part of the entrance is stupid) $90 for a box of 2000 paintballs-(field paint only and I think $30 for a bag of 500) =$130 minimum if you are a walk-in with your own gear(I have no idea how much it would be if you are renting their equipment) Outhouse porto-potty for toilets does not reflect the pricing they charge...??? Holly molly I couldn't believe I spent over $500 or was it $550 for a family of 4 for a few hours playing paintball, and I've been playing around New England for a while... I'm still a little shock, I usually pay around $75 a person for the day with entrance, air, and box of 2000 paintballs(I've payed as little as $55 for a whole day of play)... I'm surprise this place hasn't gone down and closed yet... I thought I was going in a speedball tournament with the pricing they gouge on people... No wonder the paintball community is shrinking this past few years?? RIDICULOUS... We have fun depending on the people around and not really how fancy or big the field itself is... We usually just WASTE more paint on huge fields and long games and standing around people or bunkers... We prefer smaller active fields that promotes a lot more game rotation... on that note this place charges gets out of hand and probobly charges from 50% to 100% more than other fields. A place like this does not really promote the hobby IN THE LONG RUN as the pricing itself will deter the parents and kids from frequenting at all. I mean you can literally buy or do a lot more with $130 than go paintballing for a day, like a nice shoes, an ipod, a few basketballs, a nice northface bag/sweater, etc, etc.. ;) read more
