When I did the search this place came up and even though there was no Yelp activity (reviews, tips or check ins) and after checking their online menu, we decided to give it a try. Now we have a small deli in our building, this is no means an even comparison. We have a small variety of items that we can order and they only take cash. Who does that in the 21st century? Skyline is a little hard to find because there are no signs and it is located in the Worley Parsons building. Once we walked in we just followed the people that were streaming in and out of the deli. First of all, they have a very extensive menu. It includes: Paninis, wraps, daily specials and combos, build your own salads, pasta and sandwiches, breakfast, tacos, smoothies, beverages and desserts. They also do catering! I can eat here every day and not have the same thing! My friend ordered the chicken and dumplings special of the day with green beans and he enjoyed it thoroughly. I had a ham and cheese panini with a cup of chicken noodle soup. The soup was hot and had very good flavor.and the panini was prepared perfectly for me. They have a beverage section with fountain drinks and 2 types of tea with free refills which I took advantage of. Lastly they take all types of payments and there is an ATM if you need cash. They even have a rewards program that I will check out.

The location of the restaurant is not immediately visible from the Main Street. It was tucked away on the rear of a building creating a little challenge to find. My visit was during a weekday morning and no other patrons were inside. A completely empty restaurant is usually a cause for concern for me. Patty's is set up for orders at a counter in the back of dining room then take a number to the table for delivery. The dining room is very bright and simply decorated but spacious for a bistro. I ordered the Grandma's Morning Casserole and it was a solid 5/5 with great quality sausage and bacon. Everything about the dish is near perfect, especially the tasty crispy tater tots. My request for a croissant with the breakfast was honored and it was delicious. This gave me idea to check out more baked good from the showcase. I purchased a carrot cake to go and later wished I had bought two. The cake wasn't the traditional style with nuts and shredded carrots. Instead, the cake was the consistency of pound cake that came covered in a rich chocolate drizzled over the top. Perhaps, I got lucky with my first impression but I'm eager to give them another opportunity to repeat the great experience.

The omelette was very flavorful & tasty, however, definitely thinner than I am accustomed to eating. It did not come with any bread option or side item so make sure you look at the breakfast side items (only located on the Saturday/Sunday brunch menu, not the main menu) or ask about side items. I don't have a large appetite & I must admit I was still a little hungry. I inquired about bread after I finished & they offered to bring me some toast but I was already done eating. I had a bite of hubby's breakfast sausage & croissant. I'm not a big sausage person but the sausage tasted smoky with a hint of sweetness and it was yummy! The croissant was also buttery & good. We got the carrot cake; it's Brazilian style, which differs from the standard American version. It's super rich with chocolate filling layers made with condensed milk. A bit too rich for me but I'm sure others will love it. They also have coffee drinks and they are setup to do the basics drinks (mocha latte, cappuccino, etc) without all the syrup flavors. I ordered a cortado. Although it is not on their menu, the barista gladly said she would try to do her best. I provided directions on the espresso to milk ratio for a cortado & she absolutely nailed it. The coffee was robust & without the traditional vanilla syrup available, a little brown sugar added made the drink great. I will definitely return. I'll try their lunch menu next time.

If you need some groceries imported from Russia there are not too many options in the Houston area. It's not an area that you associate with masses of Russian immigrants. But here is a place that has all your Russian import needs and it's pretty amazing. Houston has decent sized pockets of just about everything, so no wonder they need a good chunk of Russian grocery stuff for the Russians. I'm pretty sure the people running the place support Ukraine independence too. If they didn't, I might not visit often. Some of the imports are even good value, which is unusual for imports. You'd be surprised how not overpriced some of the things are. A much bigger selection than you'll find in any of the grocery stores.
