This is after they didn't do a good job on the roof and it took them months to come back and fix the leaks they caused. STAY AWAY!!

This was without doubt THE BEST experience I have ever had with a contractor! Mike and his team were hard-working, efficient and highly professional at all times. Mike did everything he said he was going to do, in all cases on time and on budget. He started the work the day he said the work would be started -- and he completed the work two weeks later, the very day he said the work would be completed. He worked long hours to make it happen, in spite of inclement weather outside his control, and even went above-and-beyond to protect our property as if it were his own home during the bad weather periods. Our good experience started with Mike's quote, which was far more detailed and well thought out than the competing quotes. It was by no means the cheapest -- but it was competitive, and it was very clear that Mike had taken the time to think through the project in detail where others hadn't. Mike was very clear about what was included in the quote, and what would be additional -- should there be additional work needed once the team got into the job (in fact, once he pulled up our roofs, there were indeed a few sections of support beams that had rotted and needed to be replaced --- but because of Mike's clarity up front, there was no question that this was outside the scope of the original quote). Both the quote for the job, as well as the hourly rate Mike quoted for any additional work needed, was more than reasonable... especially considering the quality of work that was done. Mike also went the extra mile to point out areas of future potential problems or concerns as he found them -- but without trying to "sell" us that more than was necessary should be fixed right away. We appreciated feeling that he was truly "on our side" in understanding that we had a set budget, and prioritizing what was urgent vs. what could wait for another day. Finally, I can't speak highly enough about the quality of the work done. I have worked with many contractors who will press and cut corners to get a job done quickly, or who will realize they have under-quoted a job and then try to cut corners to make up the time on the back end. I called Double R to have a storm door installed. The door has openings all across the bottom and was not installed properly. When I complained to Bob Thalheimer, the new principal of Double R, I was told the person HE sent to do the job now has his own company and Double R would not take any responsibility for the poor job. Because the person they sent has his own company should not be my problem. I don't know the person Double R sent or his new company. Double R won't stand behind their work, won't even talk to me about it! After all the years of dealing with Double R, I will never call them again. Like others, I received a time window. Spotless was showless. I called 15 minutes after the window…read moreended. I was told we "like a number of others that day did not receive service. I would have an appointment the next day, with a 2-4pm window (at the end of the day)." I wasn't interested in sitting around again with the possibility of a no-show and no notice or call. I answered, "No. Not interested in your service now or in the future." Given the big hype on their phonemail about customer service and happy customers, the cavalier attitude (after I arranged my schedule and was forced to re-schedule my yard clean-up ,etc because of the no-show, and would have to hire another contractor) surprised me. Almost as surprised as when the Spotless truck appeared in the morning many days later, and I repeated to the crew leader that I had terminated Spotless. Shortly afterward, I received an email that my appointment was canceled. The "family" crew that I hired was reasonably priced, efficient, and honest. When I call to complain, the person on the phone claimed they arrived some time after 11 (which was a complete fabrication - I was home at the time and my ring camera would have caught it). So this company is unreliable, unprofessional, and apparently liars. Take a hard pass on this company.
