Currently still attending classes with him and work with him at home. The instructors have been fantastic! Thanks Britta! After 21 years in Law Enforcement and being around K-9's, these instructors know there stuff. People must realize, not only must you're dog learn, YOU must learn too! They are very helpful with that. Pay attention to them, just don't "Hope for the best!" Hope is not a tactic, training is. Thanks again Britta and to the entire Positve Pets Staff. Luke is doing great!

New honest trainers.. Do not be fooled by the name "Positive…read morePets." My graduation day with Trainer Taz at the Meridian location was an absolute trap designed to make my dog fail. After investing our time, effort, and money into this program, graduation day was treated like an ego trip rather than a celebration of our hard work. Taz purposefully set up a flawed, high-pressure test scenario. She kept her own dog stationary on a "place" boundary right in the middle of a tight bottleneck where it was impossible for me to get my dog on a place or maintain a safe distance. Instead of letting us navigate the distraction safely, she forced us to walk right into a high-stress spatial trap. When my dog naturally lunged due to the intense proximity and pressure she created, Taz flunked us. Good trainers teach you how to succeed by managing distance and building confidence. Taz artificially forced my dog past its breaking point just to penalize us and fail us. If you want a trainer who actually cares about your dog's progress and treats paying clients with respect, avoid Positive Pets and avoid Taz. They set dogs up to fail.

So grateful for Drake as a trainer and walker!!! Drake was referred to me by another dog walker who couldn't handle Tia. I first called Drake to do a training session and told him all the things I was worried about - distracted around other dogs, lunging towards other dogs, etc. The first training place he picked was Lake Merritt on a weekend where there are TONS of dogs. Before this, I always walked across the street when I saw other dogs. By the end of a little over an hour, Tia was lying down just casually, letting other dogs pass by. I tried many group sessions with other trainers prior to this but still never felt confident enough to practice with Tia in such a busy setting. A lot of other trainers would give tips that sometimes seemed more appropriate for a small/medium dog (Tia is 60 lbs, I'm 110lbs - "no pull" harnesses and martingale collars were not cutting it). Drake was so much more relatable because he has so much experience with big dogs and small. I seriously give this guy so much credit for giving me the tools and confidence to work with Tia. Training now is actually fun and not daunting! I can now take Tia to trips on hikes, walks around the lake, breweries, etc. multiple times a week! Tia now also gets to hang out with Drake on a weekly basis and even has her own "pack." Since I've been able to better train with her and her walks with Drake, there's been a HUGE change in her behavior for the better! Can't believe I used to think she would not be able to be around other dogs!

Buster is so chill on walks now! It's amazing! Thank you Real Dog Academy for all your help with…read moretraining, care, and encouragement! Bravo!!!!
