It offers a ton of parking, a pool, gazebos and kayaks for rent, and activities for kids. City Lake hosts community events from time to time, and it can get quite crowded on those days, but go during an off-hour and its fairly serene. For walkers, there's a view of the lake and some interesting wildlife (Muscovy ducks, anyone?). The trails also connect to the Piedmont Environmental Center, which is worth remembering should PEC parking ever fill up. Whether you want to swim, fish, paddle, or stroll, City Lake Park has what you need to be able to enjoy the outdoors.

Great public water access park…read more Easy peasy boat ramp, inexpensive usage fees and a friendly marina. Good for canoeing and kayaking. Picnic areas and even a couple overnight spots to camp make this an easy getaway for an afternoon or a weekend. The marina store has basic tackle and bait for purchase. Can't vouch for the golf course, haven't tried that yet. Ps the fishing is pretty good too.

What we ended up getting for lunch would normally cost around $15 pp but with this deal its around $11 so you save 4 bucks. I really liked the fact that most people were dressed fairly modestly. They do allow you to bring outside food and drink. The kids loved the rides and there were life guards everywhere. I even asked one of them a question and she never took her eyes off the people while answering my question. Hailey at Luigi's Pizza was awesome! Very friendly and helpful. My only con was we had to pay $20 for parking after already paying $300 for the tickets but with that said we loved the park and would definitely come again.

There is a few things that a toddler would enjoy, such as the one of a kind swings that allow you to sit with your baby as you swing together, and a mini playground but overall I think this is geared for preschool aged and up. There is a big pavilion with plenty of picnic tables, bathrooms, a walking path and workout station towards the entrance. I only wish there was shade for the playground because I can imagine it getting pretty hot in the summer!

It's hard to say which is the best park which is really just a sign of how great most of them are. Hagan-stone does have a lot of amenities but it's also a quiet, away from the city park as well. My kids love the playground and the pools, both of which can get busy on a nice summer day. My dog loves long walks in the woods and by the many ponds here. I haven't tried the camping but it's hugely popular here.

I have never seen that on a playground before so it was very appealing to me since my child enjoys them but is always in need of assistance considering they are often so high. The park seems well maintained, the bathrooms are little dated so it would be nice to see an improvement with that one day. Great place to rent an outdoor shelter for a cookout or birthday party.
