We're very glad we did! The location is extremely convenient, and the apartment manager, Baeron, is very friendly and willing to show you whatever empty apartments he has at the moment. When we arrived he was doing maintenance on the driveways and parking, which let us know right off we had active staff on the property! At Westbury you have a choice between a two bedroom apartment or a one bedroom, on the ground floor or second floor. You can also choose whether or not you face the communal green in the center (keep pets off the green so nobody has to worry about poop) or facing the parking lots. Apartments facing the lots (which are shaded by trees) may be able to snag an apartment with a fireplace for about $10 extra per month. If you have pets, you can have up to 3, and each pet is an extra $10 added to your rent per month. They don't mind if you have large dogs! The apartments are very spacious. The 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom ones my husband and I looked at were just over 1,000 square feet. The master bedroom has a walk-in closet and one of the bathrooms, and the second bedroom has a large closet with a sliding door. The second bathroom is just off the hallway (yes, these apartments are so large they have actual hallways!). The apartment's trim is in white, and the walls are a muted cream. The floors are a beige carpet kept in impeccable condition, with faux wood flooring in the dining room, kitchen, and bathrooms. We cannot wait to move here!

Most of the staff members are rude and act as if the residents are inconveniencing them throughout interactions. They also act incredibly entitled to the premises, because most of them live here and are friends with the managers/owners as well. What is worse and also shocking is that the managers and staff members mock the residents living in their apartment complexes openly on their social media pages. Staff also makes up the rules to use the amenities as they go, sometimes making it so much of a hassle it's not even worth it. Definitely not giving "luxury." The parameter of the property is not secure, as they haven't finished the fencing. Now that we've discussed the blatant unprofessionalism the staff exhibit, let's talk about these "luxury" apartments themselves -- When we moved into our apartment, all the appliances had dents in them. The cabinets were not hung properly, there was literal pieces of tile missing and you cannot even fill the garden tub up with hot water before running out of hot water. I would be surprised if the people that built these apartments were even licensed individuals. The landscaping is done poorly (when it's even completed, sometimes the weeds are practically shin high). We recently received an email saying we would be responsible for any maintenance needs; including, but not limited to appliance replacement, new tile, bed bug charges, pest control, lock replacement, etc. with a list of prices. It also says if you require maintenance there will be a hourly rate. They built these apartments cheap and then want to charge their residents when their cheap materials inevitably break? *LUXURY*

However shortly after moving in my roommates and I found that the apartment we had been put in was trashed and did not look clean at all (although they said they cleaned it). We talked to management and they cooperated very well and ordered a cleaning service to come clean it before we completely moved in. The apartments are something that any college student can expect to live in. Walls are thin and people living there can be sketchy. One thing I do have to point out though is that the management seems to be very unorganized because each person we have talked to about something seems to either lose one of our papers or accidentally charge us extra for security we did not sign up for. However, the already furnished environment is fantastic, as well as utilities being already paid for through rent. Just an average apartment complex with its flaws.

Granted the staff is kind and does what they can, they are severely over their heads. We were surrounded on all sides by neighbors who either made our home smell like weed, kept us up all hours of the night or dumped their trash everywhere. My wife's car got keyed twice. Someone got their tires slashed in the parking lot. Great place for college kids who don't care, but not a good place to live for anyone else. I would advise that people stay far away.

I had one time that maintenance came into my apartment without notice. most of the landkeeping staff were courteous too, they worked around you, but there was one that tried so hard to get attention, he kept driving his lawnmower on the pavement in front of wherever I was in my way, stare at me and try to dance around. I liked that it's a gated community and the gate stayed closed most of the time, only control access to tenants and workers. the gates would stay open during thunderstorms or power issues. they have a pool open during summer time and a small gym area. there wasn't an apartment available for me to view before I moved in. The outside looked nice. when I did move in, the inside of the apartment was made of the cheapest materials which are not that sturdy and not practical which made it hard to maintain and clean. the apartment was so poorly cleaned before I moved in, I had to deep clean the apartment myself. there were multiple things that didn't operate and constantly had issues. all the electrical outlet were dirty, worn out and loose. if I plugged anything in, the plug would barely hold or fall out. the windows are covered with thin and fragile blinds, I had to cautiously move every time I wanted to use the windows. the blinds had bends and stains on them. I reported it and the apartment employees said they'll send housekeepers back out but never did. all of the shelves in the closets were wired racks and they were dirty. it took me so long to have to clean each individual rod. the walls were painted with hair painted in. the cabinets, sinks and faucets had scratches, chips, dents, stains and were warped. the bathroom sink faucet would spray out everywhere instead of stream, it was short and close to the sink that I was practically rubbing my hands and items on the sink everytime I used it. the sink would drip underneath. the previous tenant left a dirty soap dish super glued into the bathtub that I have to pry out. the toilet was so small and it couldn't sit flat on the ground so it wasn't sealed, it would wobble every time it was used and water would leak out around the bottom. I would have to hold down the lever to flush evertime. I reported it to management and they came out the same day to work on it but the issue kept coming back, because the apartment is so cheaply built. water from all the faucets smelled bad. all of the appliances were so old, outdated and barely function like they should. the stove didn't even have a preheat indicator. the fridge and freezer smelled terrible, like rotten food. the fridge wasn't very cold, I was not safe to store food longer than overnight. I had to take the bottom panel of the freezer apart and clean all the spilled food juices left there over time. I spent hours continuously cleaning the fridge but it was so old, it kept smelling so bad. I reported it to the apartment employee but all they did was replace the fan cover not the smell. the fridge barely kept anything chilled and the freezer didn't keep food frozen. I had in units washer and dryer. the washer was newer and clean. the dryer was dirty, rusty and made my clothes smell bad. they had open parking, parking close to the building was for tenants and tenants had vehicle pass that are hung on our rear view mirror. while visitors didn't get a pass but are to park away from the building by the fence line. Available parking spots usually wasn't an issue. they had a courtesy officer on site for noise complaints, which I never had to call, my neighbors on the sides were quiet. but my upstairs neighbors constantly walked around and making noises upstairs all throughout the night, the installation were thin. I heard seasonal birds chirping all throughout the night and into the morning. I occasionally heard a nearby train but the neighborhood was mostly quiet. after I moved out, they charged me cleaning fees even if you leave the place clean, and "missing" items that I never had to begin with. they also changed me utilities fees after I shut off my utilities, those extra days after I moved out, they used the utilities to work on the apartment after my lease was over.

I lived here for over a year. As soon as I signed up thru this apartment with my phone number and…read moreemail, I started getting spams throughout the whole time I've lived here. I paid $400 deposit when I moved in but they only credit me $99 when I moved out. They didn't return my deposit but charged me extra that I had to pay them. It's gated, vehicle and pedestrian gates were residents accessed only with remote and cards controlled. The exit gate is really slow to open. I never had any packages stolen or dealt with crimes. 1 bedroom is rarely available. The apartments were tucked away at the end of a court with no public thru traffic. I had to pay extra monthly to rent in units washer and dryer which were used. They were stained and dirty and smelt so bad, like moldy and body odor. I kept having to clean them. The fridge was not clean and smelled so bad, like rotten. I had to deep clean the fridge/freezer and rolled it out to clean the back area and under. it smelled worst when the weather would warm up. They charged me for a replacement drip pan when I moved out when it wasn't new when I moved in. I also had to clean the microwave. The master bathroom was disgusting and unclean. There's a lot of rust and chips in the bathrooms sinks and tubs. The carpet was dirty with stains and hair. The apartment charged me for carpet cleaning when I moved out when it wasn't cleaned when I moved in. I tried to get parts of the apartment cleaned or replaced because the previous tenants left it in such terrible conditions. The bathroom sink had water damage in the storage area floor which was rotting and I couldn't store anything under there. The sink also started to have noticable cracks which was probably causing the water damage. I put in a repair request and they left the storage area just saying it's cosmetic and tightened the pipe under the sink and left the sink cracked. Uncovered parking was unassigned but I paid extra monthly for a covered parking spot. There were signs saying Reserved, and unauthorized parking will be towed. There were still people who were inconsiderate and still parked. There was a neighbor who parked their car so close to my paid spot, they would park on the white line or over the line consistently. The neighbors relatively left me alone but there were an older man who tried to talked to me when I moved in and kept staring at me. I heard my neighbors occasionally yelling and arguing throughout the night and early morning. The neighborhood is filled with bugs and birds seasonally so they would be on my balcony, and some mornings, hundreds of birds in the trees and area chirped non stop so loud. Birds kept pooping on my balcony and would try to build nests. If the cost of maintenance was too much, they wouldn't fix repairs. I had a call asking about two of my older work order that wasn't done. This place wasn't always organized. And sometimes they wouldn't give notice before they enter your apartment but would send you a notice after sometimes. I had to pay extra for built in, not optional, cable and internet. The cable was discontinued during my lease and the cable company charged me an early cancellation fee even tho it was the apartment decision and the apartment management should've addressed that. The apartment still charged me the same monthly fee even without cable because they said the internet speed increased but internet was bad. The units went up to 3 stories and there are just stairs no elevator. All of the units mailboxes were in the same area by the pool. I was given the wrong key to my mailbox and when I went to management, they said I just had mail stuck pushed up in my mailbox. The handyman finally gave me the right key because management doesn't seem to do much or know what they're doing. The pool is by the management office, it's smaller and hours were opened seasonally. There is also a small gym in the management office that is open 24/7 by residence key card access with single bathrooms. At the end of my lease, they would automatically charge me month to month rates. You would have to give them a 60 days notice to move out. When I turned in all my keys, the employee didn't give me a receipt even when I asked for one. Management called me the next day claiming I didn't turn in my keys. They're unorganized and don't properly communicate with each other.

Therefore my other leaseholder had to come in person to the front desk to sign the paper again. the guy who uses to work up there (or still does) is very nice but you don't see him often. You will waste your time living here. The apartments are very nice but the management makes this place feel less of a home. Update: The repair guys are horrible, and will even walk in on you while you're taking a shower or a bath without you knowing. Which to me is a big safety hazard. They will come in your apartment when nobody's home and not even give you a warning. Most of the time when they are coming in they are repairing things that I've already fixed because I've put in multiple request and just lost all hope that they were going to come at all. Laura is one of the worst of them all she's very rude and when you have a problem she doesn't seem to care and makes sarcastic remarks. I was even trying to talk to her about an issue I had and after she got done talking I tried to put my two cents in and she rudely said " let me finish and maybe you'll understand." I honestly feel like if she doesn't work here the place would be a lot better but it's way overpriced for shitty management.

Do I sometimes have to pay a some late fees? Sure but I knew the policy when I signed my lease. Why would I get mad? Seems to be a turnover in maintenance staff but they work for a rent discount not a long term career. That being said the repairs are not always done the way I think an actual professional would do them but these are not fancy apartments just clean and comfortable. I love mine. Especially the price. Biggest complaints are dog poop from rude tenants and the closest dumpster has a broken cement walk area at its entrance with zero lighting so people having to take trash out in the dark will just set everything on the ground rather than risking a fall or encountering someone sketchy in the dark. Also not sure how the lack of lighting there and over building numbers aren't required. The broken cement is probably against ADA laws for wheelchair users. I know there have been reported car break-ins and I fights at night but I go check my mail at 2 - 3:00 in the morning with zero fear or problems and no social interactions!
