High Point, NC is the Mecca for furniture in the USA. Twice a year the world descends upon this smallish town to do there buying of home goods. You name the brand and they have presence here. Either a storefront, a building or a whole floor or more in the IHFC. The event is known in the industry as the "Market" and it sure is. From what I understand is that there is the old IHFC market building and a new larger one that they built attached to it. For those of us that live in Toronto and is familiar with the the Bay on Queen Street, and have been on various floors of it. The IHFC is bigger. My client holds one of the floor and basically, they have their whole furniture line on that one floor of the IHFC. As I was wandering around on the floor, I got lost. Almost decided to call is a day and fall asleep on one of the dozens of beds and sofas there. It would be a hoot to see the place explode with the population of High Point growing by thousands. There is no hotel to be had on Market week and many of the locals rent their homes out. BTW - you know your in FurnitureLand when one of the buildings looks like a dress or with socks sticking out.
