The good first. They do a great job. Very professional and well done paving and exactly per our…read moreestimate. The bad: Poor and undependable communication (by calling and talking to Dan, the owner) and Dan does not adhere to dates very well nor a promise to call you back if a delay. Our initial excavation for old asphalt removal and bringing in stone and prep for the base took longer then expected and ended up a 7-10 days late. Dan will say "he'll call"........but, don't hold your breath for that being on time and punctual. His business etiquette is a bit rough and may work against the grain for some customers. What was supposed to be a 2 week wait for the base to compact more through driving on it and the rain to help compact it and then they'd come to pave in 2 weeks, ended up a 4 week and 2 day wait. Bottom line is whenever they decide to show up, they do a great job, the crew knows what they need to do and each is in sync with the others, it all falls into place and they do it well, but, if you are one who wants punctuality and great customer service, and expect nothing less, do look elsewhere. But, if you are ok with some slack in when you'll get your project done and if it is going to be done on time and are ok with dates slipping somewhat, but, all that at a very competitive price for quality paving and a job that is done well, then give them a call. Bottom line is 3 stars for customer care and 5 stars for the excellent paving job they did for both the first visit for excavation and stone/base prep and for the paving a month+ later... = 4 stars over-all.

These guys were more than happy to come out to pave our driveway nearly two years ago. They were…read morealso more than happy to charge us another $2k more for the job, when they ripped up our driveway and found that the layer underneath completely needed to be redone. We trusted them. We have lived in our house for 23 years, and we have changed tires in our driveway on multiple vehicles in the fall and summer, with no issues. Since they paved our driveway, we can no longer change our tires without putting divots in it. Dan does not like to return phone calls left at the business. We tried that for a while. Finally convinced the person answering the phone to give us his cell phone. First time he answered, he was super friendly. Promised to come out with a team and fix the issues. Team showed up WITHOUT Dan (who suddenly had another place to be). They did what they could but told us there was definitely an issue with the composition of the driveway and would tell him to get in touch. Complete silence. We gave him two months. Then called his cell, left a message. No response. A week later, called again. He answered but was not his earlier friendly self. Gave us the runaround. But said he would stop by the next day. We specifically waited around all day. No Dan. Texted a message. Then called again the next day. Said he would come by at the end of the day. Waited. No Dan. No call or text saying he wouldn't be able to make it. This lack of complete lack of care, concern, respect as a business owner is unbelievable. Clearly, they do not stand by their work. At our wits' end. Next step: small claims court?

It's interesting that all of a sudden…read moreJason got two 5-star reviews on the SAME DAY from people who don't have any other yelp history. It seems very suspicious and then I got a message from Angela saying I need to not be so hateful when in fact, I'm sharing my experience and those of my community. BEWARE!!! Original review here: I'd love to give ZERO stars, but I can't go lower than 1 star. We have a shared dirt driveway with our neighbors and needed it to get redone. If you like projects that were supposed to be 2 weeks and have turned into 9 weeks with no end in sight, having construction work start at 5 pm, no shows, lots of excuses, property damage, paying upfront ... then Jason at Green Excavation is your guy. We had to cut our losses at $4000 and terminate Jason without any of the material he promised (he said we wouldn't get any even though we paid upfront). We now have to hire people who know what they're doing and it will cost $20k to undo the damage he has done, and then additional money on top of that for the project. We have had 3 professionals come to look at what Jason did and they all agree he doesn't know what he is doing. It's embarrassing because we paid 2/3 upfront and we should have done more research. Please learn from me. The lowest price does not mean the best deal. Our poor neighbors decided to keep working with him for their upper part of the driveway, it's been 4 months and their driveway and yard looks like a war zone. STILL NOT DONE!

I met Jason at the house that I was renovating needing to clean out my backyard of Small trees and brush. A contract with sign which he would clear out all vegetation place topsoil and reseed for planting grass. During the renovation he discovered that there were rocks in the soil and stated that it took him longer than he expected. I did let him know that we agreed he would clean the area. After it was mostly cleaned he then wanted the rest of his money. I let him know that the job was not done though I needed to rake and get rid of all the smaller rocks and roots myself which I was not expecting to do. Getting closer to completion he now is asking for more money, wanting $325 more for grass seed. I let him know that we signed a contract and seeding was included. Because of his whining I did agree to pay him an extra $225. When I arrived at the completed project he did not put any topsoil in at all. If I was to have all the smaller rocks and roots removed that would be an additional $800. Finally after already paying him he wants to come back and take the boulders and rocks for someone else that he has promised them to. I explained that I had already given them away and he was upset over this. I have friends that are currently using him at the same time and he has destroyed their driveway and costing them thousands of dollars. I would never use him again and strongly recommend that you find someone else.
