We just had the exterior trim on our two story home painted by this company. The owner came to review the work to be done and gave us an estimate of cost and when he would start the work. He called before starting the work to give us a few days notice. He began the work in the time frame that he had quoted us. Once he arrived with his crew, they worked full time until the work was done. They placed drop cloths over deck, porch and even the tall shrubs. There are extensive perennials around the house and they were careful to not destroy any of them. No mess was made anywhere. They painted neatly and fixed areas of soft/damaged wood. The owner also made sure that all of the windows that were painted could be opened before leaving. The price estimate quoted was fair and that is what he charged us. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone who asked for a reference and I would hire them again to do other painting as needed. If you hire this company, bring out the crew some ice water on a regular basis. They worked in 90+ temps for three days and needed lots of cold water. read more

Recently had the interior of my house repainted by Bjorn and his team. They were prompt, mask-wearing, professional, and did an excellent job, refreshing almost the whole living space in just three days. 10/10 Would absolutely recommend. read more

I cannot speak more highly of the quality of work and professionalism that A Job Well Done brought to my house painting project. Having a house painted for the first time in maybe 20yrs and at the same time completely changing the color I must admit that my nerves were getting at me. Bjorn brought and exercised his vast knowledge of color, process, and products to help me feel comfortable and confident in my decisions, and his work. Bjorn staffs an experienced and professional crew that take true pride and interest in what they do. The whole scope of the job was seamless; quick, clean, and concise, with a high level of communication throughout. The transformation was astonishing and beyond my expectations. While on site I personally witnessed several neighbors walk by and complement the crew on the progress and quality of work, some went as far as genuinely thanking them for making the house look so good; my sentiment exactly. If you are looking for the highest quality paintwork done on budget at a competitive price look no further than A Job Well Done. read more

Bjorn is a careful, considerate painter who does what he promises at a very reasonable price. I left him alone in my home with no regrets. His paint job was flawless. He listens very carefully and worked hard to understand what I wanted. He was quick to respond to my emails. He adjusted his schedule to accommodate our changing requests. (I didn't like a color I had picked, and he very considerately repainted the room with no grousing.) We would hire him again in a heartbeat. read more

I hired A Job Well Done to paint a multifamily in Burlington in the spring of 2013. I'm super happy with the results. Here's why: -Speed. These guys are fast. They put in long hours and work hard. My tenants said they showed up early and stayed late every day. They definitely banged it out. -Reliability: They started when they said they would and finished within the time we agreed, even with all the front porch curve ball changes I threw at them. They're like the David Ortiz of painters. -Courteous: My tenants said they were super laid back and very easy to work with - they moved their stuff for people who needed to get in/out of the driveway and accommodated folks on-site all around. Personally - from what I saw when visiting the job site, I couldn't agree more. -Extras: They trimmed the bottom of the garage doors so they close completely, shaved pre-existing excess foam filling on the main house trim & plugged a few holes here & there where needed. -Quality: The paint job looks great. The house looks 100 x better. We went from being close to the worst looking house on the block to being one of the best (IMHO). Thank you for a job well done! read more

We selected "A Job Well Done" to paint 100% of the interior walls of a condominium. I liked that their website revealed local ownership, a professional approach to painting, a small crew, and lots of attention to prep work. They also do things associated with painting, but which are often not available from a painter (such as dry-wall repair and other finishing work). We had several such micro-projects and a couple problem areas, and the project manager/owner Bjorn walked through the house patiently with me as we built the project and addressed each one in turn (some of which made into the project and some of which did not). The project planning process was thorough and involved an estimate for coverage based on total wall square footage per room/space (it is important to remember that this is different than floor dimensions). The crew started promptly and worked consistently for 4-5 days. I had planned to remove some shelves, faceplates, and towel racks, but wasn't able to do so and the crew ended up demoing those things as well as making a disciplined effort to temporarily remove many doors and almost all of the mirrors (which is a nice touch because we may not want to keep them all for the long haul). As the project unfolded, I visited the unit occasionally and talked by phone with Bjorn every day or two and discussed how things were going. Our job had a number of problem areas where the combinations of original color and covering color were inherently challenging, and it was obvious that additional coats would be needed to get the right results. We had made it clear that we were looking for the best results, since this was our one chance to work on the house while it was empty and we are hoping to never pick up a paint brush again for the next 10 years. In the end the price was about +20% from the estimate, but I feel that the quoted price and actual price were fair and that the A Job Well Done crew basically did what they said they were going to do. In short: A Job Well Done is probably at their best with mid-sized projects for owner-occupants whose main interest is in high-quality work and long-term value (rather than commercial landlords, sub-contractors, etc.). After living in it for about a month, I've gotten used to it and I think it's a great value and added a lot to the home. People walk in and often comment on how nice it looks, which is due to the quality and technique of the painting work, from planning -- to prep -- to completion). read more

Jay (the owner) is amazing. He is a master handy man. I really don't think there is anything he cannot do. And he does it well. We had him out initially yo install a 2-story chandelier and other light fixture and he did a great job. Today, we presented him with quite the challebge. We got new countertops and needed our faucet and garbage disposal reinstalled. Jay came out on a Saturday when his wife was sick with the effects of the Covid vaccine. He was faced with multiple challenges due to the placement of the drain in the new sink which required a trip to Lowe's which unfortunately did not solve the problem. Promising to come back on Monday, he wasn't able to let it go so stopped at Home Depot on the way home. Finding the right garbage disposal to fit, he came back out and finished the job. 4+ hours on a Saturday, again while he was needing to get home, and he had us up and running at the same price he initially quoted! I cannot recommend Jay and A Job Well Done highly enough! . read more

We hired Bjorn and the crew for a project at our office. They came in right away for an estimate. We had a very short time frame and specific request. The team worked tirelessly including nights and weekends to get the job done. They were extremely professional, careful, and respectful. Costs reflected the estimates and everything looks great! Highly recommended. read more

We had a lost of outrageous quotes for painting the exterior of our 2,400 ft2 home here in Burlington. Bjorn was very professional and good a communication while we worked with him and his crew. Vermont can have unpredictable weather and they worked hard around the rain. I highly recommend. read more

Very bad experience with them. Hired them to do the interior of our house, but right from the start their prep work was very poor. They did not put down proper protection for the floors and the work they did repairing seams was bad. After a week of only 2 guys showing up (they said at least 4 would be working) we asked them to leave. They refused to refund any of our down payment for their bad work. Never use these guys. read more

I scheduled an appointment for a painting estimate. After 2 weeks of no communication, I emailed asking for my estimate. I still have not received their estimate and it's been almost 2 months! Poor communication skills!! read more

I had several painters come to my home and look at the job I needed done. My primary problem was a spot in the living room ceiling where the paint had come away from the dry-wall and was sagging a bit. The other painters didn't think it needed special treatment and thought that just painting over it would be good enough. (That had been tried before and it didn't work.) The owner of "A Job Well Done" saw that it needed to be cut out and repaired. He did a fantastic job in repairing the spot and blending it in with the rest of the ceiling. I am amazed at how good of a repair job they did. After seeing how well they did in the living room, I hired them to keep going and do the master bedroom too. I'm thrilled with the results. The owner is easy to work with, responsive to requests, and takes pride in his work. read more

I recently had my kitchen cabinets resurfaced by Bjorn and Company. They did an excellent job. They gave me a fair estimate and were very professional. They removed the cabinet doors and worked on them at their shop to minimize the dust. They did the job in a timely fashion. We will certainly hire them back and plan to have them paint our front porch. Job Well Done. Thank You Sandy read more

We are very happy with A Job Well Done's work. Its crew painted the entire interior of our home and did a fabulous job. They fixed several problem spots and their work was superb. It's like having a new house. They even threw in a few extra items without being asked, and they followed up on things like windows that became shut. All at a reasonable price. We cannot recommend A Job Well Done highly enough. Hire A Job Well Done. You will not be sorry. read more
