They've consistently delivered outstanding food for our winery events (200-250 guests), catered both of my weddings (yes, two COVID weddings with the same groom!), and whenever we have the chance to get their food in our house, we jump at it. I was lucky enough to get to try High on the Hog during a recent catering event at Brick Barn winery. Everything was so tasty! They served up Italian beef sandwiches and they were so flavorful. Definitely a gourmet sandwich and the beef was cooked perfectly. They had picked veggies on the side, as well as two other veggie sides that were equally as delicious. Every food item was delicious and we received lots of feedback from friends and family about how friendly the staff were (including bartending) throughout. Brett and Amber were communicative and professional throughout the planning process, and helped us develop a super personalized menu that used fresh, local ingredients and felt like us. We had a fantastic tasting a couple months prior to our wedding, and then they completely exceeded our expectations on our wedding day. The food at the tasting was so good that my husband and I decided to split all three entrees between the two of us at the wedding! So glad we did that - it's easy to forget to eat on your wedding day and we were so excited to revisit all 3 entrees :) The servers also did an amazing job of making sure to find us and offer passed apps regularly throughout cocktail hour. Our guests had wonderful feedback about the food and the staff (bartenders and servers). Brett and Amber have a ton of experience catering weddings and know exactly what they need (including rentals, kitchen supplies, tents, etc.) to make a seamless experience for guests & the bride and groom. Planning a wedding is stressful and it was such a relief to know that Brett & Amber had everything handled from a food, beverage, and kitchen perspective. Just waow!!!! We hired High on the Hog Catering for a 300 person fundraiser BBQ and everything was seamless; from the initial phone call, to the day of the event. Their pulled pork was perfectly cooked and seasoned!!! And the sauce that was offered on the side was out of this world. My mouth is still watering. We then moved buildings and had a wonderful buffet meal of fresh greens with citrus & beets, arugula with goat cheese and acorn squash, sautéed greens, chicken with some crazy green bomb sauce- SO good, and short ribs over mashed potatoes. This summer I was lucky enough to have two separate dinner parties catered by High On The Hog Catering and Chef Brett Stephen. I had asked for quotes from many, reputable caterers in town and was consistently disappointed as I received proposals that all seemed like menus I'd seen over and over again in every above average restaurant in town. I wanted this meal to stand out and be more than the typical dinner we had all had before. Brett gave me exactly what I wanted. His menu proposals had interesting combinations of flavors and creative uses of food that I wouldn't have imagined and when we ate the prepared meal it was exactly as good as I hoped it would be...both times. High On The Hog Catering also provided desert for our parties, as well as a few other events we did not cater for dinner. These are, by far, the best cakes any of us have eaten. We've tried about 4 different combinations of cake flavor, fillings, icing, and decorations and they have all been exceptional. In addition, Brett brought his own staff to serve the dinner and do clean up. They were professional, friendly, and required no direction from me. They truly made the event stress free and that was priceless. High On The Hog's prices are comparable with most of the caterers around town, on average. However, the food and the service were both superior and I don't see myself ever using anyone else for catered events or cakes in the future. read more

Thanks to Brett and Amber, our Thanksgiving dinner was amazing! The BEST deep-fried turkey we've ever had. It was cooked perfectly: moist, tender, juicy, and delicious. The stuffing was yummy as well. The apples in the stuffing had the perfect crunch to them. From start to finish, Brett and Amber were professional, accommodating, and friendly. Pickup was easy, and everything was hot and ready to be served. We could not have asked for a better meal. The only downside is we only ordered turkey, stuffing, and rolls. We have used High on the Hog for three events so far with party sizes from 15 to 25. Brett & Amber have done a supremely professional, friendly, and flawless job of planning, preparing, cooking, and serving amazing food each time. All of our guests have talked (sometimes for weeks) about the incredible food. Somehow after the food is served, they invisibly clean up, package up leftovers, and silently depart with little for us to clean or organize. HIGHLY recommended for any type of event. read more

He brought all the food on site and cooked a delicious meal that brought out our favorite dishes from Santa Barbara local ingredients and had vegetarian/vegan options available for our guests with dietary restrictions. He is very amendable to working with you to create the menu and goes the extra mile to make sure you and your guests are happy.
