I hired Catering Connection before their acquisition by a larger company. My event occurred after their merge, and I feel like the quality of the services degraded sharply during that transition, maybe just a coincidence, idk. I have already talked to the company about the sour taste left in my mouth with a few things that went wrong on our wedding day, but I am still feeling the need to alert others that this place doesn't have the 100% perfect track record that it has on here. A majority of our event went well. However my husband and I really regretted the small details (warm food, bride and groom saved apps, drink garnishes, certain rentals quality) that were supposed to happen, that were talked about in a phone call and documented on paper, but just didn't. I don't think they understood that I was deeply upset about all these things, maybe I phrased my email poorly, but regardless they refunded my husband and I's meal. Overall I am most upset by the service post emailed complaint. I felt like all of my issues were retorted and rebuffed. And it made me feel like I was wrong about my interpretation of my own wedding. Sure it's a business and they don't specialize in emotions, but it's a wedding..it's a high emotion experience. It just feels like a very overpriced for what you get situation. Philippe and his team helped us create the most spectacular Holiday Open house and 49th Anniversary celebration! Philippe is the epitome of professionalism as is his staff. We had wonderful food (all of our guests complimented the quality and display). We received set up, serving utensils, trays, Charcuterie boards (two of them) and a wonderful salsa bar/presentation. In addition our 3 hot appetizers with heated serving trays. Never could we have put this together on our own, even though my husband is a great chef! I highly recommend Catering Connection for any of your catering needs. I hosted a 3-day corporate event at the Dos Pueblos Orchid Farms and our offices for 150 guests. Catering catered 5 of our meals. Planning - Philippe was great help with creating a quote based on our budget and making sure all the logistics such as number of tables needed and electricity were squared away. He knows venues in Santa Barbara well. Compared to other quotes I received, Catering Connection was the best in value and price. Food - My colleague and I attend a complimentary tasting at their office. We were completely sold with the taste of the food here. I personally especially enjoyed the tri-tip with salsa, quinoa stuffed bell pepper, and popcorn. We also had gluten-free guests and they were able to accommodate.  Service - Philippe and his team were amazing! It rained between our first and second day which was unfortunate as our serving area was outdoors. The floor was completely flooded but they remained calm and quickly reset to serve indoors before guests arrived. We also had some issues with electricity at the venue but the team went above and beyond trying to make the best out of the situation by problem-solving so that they could brew their coffee on time. I plan events often and usually have to babysit caterers to make sure they set up on time and replenish food quickly but with Catering Connection, I did not worry at all! read more

My husband and I hired Catering Connection for our 10/22/22 Santa Ynez wedding. From the very beginning, Casey made sure we were taken care of and got a quote turned around in record time with a variety of options. Their prices were incredibly reasonable and made it so we could opt for a station serving style rather than a traditional buffet. Since our wedding was at a private residence, Casey also helped work with Ventura Party Rentals so that we could get everything we needed for our big day. We ended up going with passed appetizers, welcome drinks, and then three stations for dinner: Market Station (3 delicious salad options), a Flatbread station ( 3 mouthwatering flatbread/pizza options), and a carving station (TriTip and Chicken). They also helped bring everything needed to serve our cake which we bought ourselves, and put together a display with delicious macaron cookies. My husband and I have been to a LOT of weddings over the past few years, and, even though I am sure I am biased, I have to say that the food at our wedding was hands down the BEST! People were commenting all night about how amazing the chicken and flatbreads were, and there was enough variety to account for even the pickiest of eaters. The entire Catering Connection staff was very warm and easy to work with. We also used CC as a licensed bartender. We did BYOB and had a signature margarita cocktail. My only regret was that the cocktails were SO good, they ran out in the first 2 hours! Not the fault of CC, unless you count making delicious drinks a downside! The bartenders were very professional but also easy to talk to. Our guests commented on how wonderful all the staff was throughout the night, which was another wedding first for us. There is nothing that we would have changed about our catering experience (except maybe making sure we ate EVEN more on the night of instead of walking around and talking to our guests!). I never really write reviews, but I promised the the guys at Catering Connection we would and they definitely deserve it. Philippe was so helpful in coordinating everything. Any time we needed adjustments he replied very quickly. Never felt like we were missing anything. He helped with the whole rental process also. We were introduced to them through our venue manager at the Lavendar Inn in Ojai, Beth. When we went in for the tasting, my wife was a little worried that the food wasn't seasoned or salted enough. We requested a bit more garlic in the sauce also. The day of our wedding couldn't have gone any better. Neil and his team were so helpful and very attentive. The Food tasted Amazing!!!! I love the Catering Connection! I have used them for several different events at our corporate location in Goleta & simply cannot recommend them more highly. They have an extensive menu to choose from for all occasions, and if they don't have it on the menu and you want it, Philippe & Ursula will probably make it for you. They have worked with me on a very short notice as well as a longer lead time and simply NOTHING suffered in the challenge of a quickly planned event. They are stars. I have had them cater several lunch time staff meetings. Sandwich selection is great, quality is yummy, and portions are abundant. We have some picky eaters and lots of different dietary challenges (vegan, gluten free, pescatarian, vegetarian) and Philippe always works with me to make sure there is something to please everyone. Delivery is always prompt (usually very early!) and setup/utensils/serving pieces/etc. are all great. Pickup equally prompt and unobtrusive in our busy office. Philippe worked with me one year to do a special holiday themed buffet for a staff lunch and everything was just great. We have used Catering Connection for an employee 35-year recognition event, and an employee farewell party and both were wonderful successes. They can do it all, from appetizers to desserts, and everything is just terrific. We recently used someone else to cater an event (organized by someone other than me...) and I can honestly say that while the food was good, the portions were really skimpy for the same price. I will definitely go back to Catering Connection and kicjk myself for not insisting that we use them for that event. read more

Holy cow, where do I even start? The food was SO GOOD. I mean, absolutely incredible. I got so many compliments from all of my guests about the dinner that we served at our wedding. And thats pretty nice when you consider the fact that we weren't making food our #1 priority! We tasted with several different caterers before deciding to go with Catering Connection, and we couldn't be happier with our decision. Hands down, they had the best food for the money. I literally felt like I was eating a 5-star meal. And their presentation is immaculate. They pay attention to details, which I love. Perfectly sliced lemons in each water ... perfectly placed little pieces of bread with butter next to it. They made sure that the food tasted just as good as it looked, which was important to us. One of my biggest fears in choosing a caterer is that they would put their best foot forward during the tasting, but on the wedding day, it would be a step-below. The exact opposite is true with Catering Connection. The wedding day food was actually better than the tasting, which I didn't even think was possible. Phi and his team at Catering Connection created the most spectacular menu for our October wedding in Santa Barbara! First, the watermelon welcome refreshment was the perfect way to kick off the warm October evening -- super delicious and refreshing. For apps, we offered 4 different ones to our guests during our cocktail how...which was perfect! Phi's team has a HUGE variety of what they offer -- and everything we sampled was so so good!! Lastly, for the food...we decided to have a buffet because we wanted our guests up and mingling as much as possible...and this really helped make that happen. Again, the food -- there is so much to choose from. It is impossible to go wrong. People say "wedding food" never is that great -- but let me tell you...this was amazing!!! One thing worth mentioning: We didn't use Phi's bar services because we had a connection elsewhere. We are so happy we used Catering Connection for our wedding! Our reception venue was tricky (it had no kitchen to prepare or store food) but Philipe and his team did not seem a bit phased. All of our food was even better than it was at our tasting and our specially cocktails were superbly mixed. They help coordinate rentals with the rental company and DON'T charge an extra fee for this convenience. Their billing is straight forward with no hidden fees. It was always easy to communicate back and forth with the company and we entered our wedding day knowing we were in good hands! And they'll customize dishes for you. My mouth is still watering from the cilantro, lime shrimp h'ors d'oeuvres! Post-wedding fatigue has set in or I would write so much more. Don't think twice. For our tasting Philippe created a delicious interpretation of what we wanted our menu to be. and the night of our wedding delivered the best catered meal and best service we've ever had at a private event or restaurant. The staff and bartenders were phenominal....but...the management was downright RUDE! I tried to politely ask the head waitress, manager, and catering coardinater that my order was incorrect and they proceeded to purposely try to.humilate me in front of the wedding party. "I'm sorry sir, would you like a few more drinks to help make up your mind"? I'm personally not a drinker but apparently the normal clientele they deal with is? After working in the industry for over 4 years I would never recommend this company (except their waiters/ waitresses and bartenders) to anyone. read more
