Hello ladies & gentlemen, I'm writing this review on behalf of Nicole Zahra also known on Instagram @mesmereyezinghair let me just start by saying my hair was an absolute hot mess and I know it, through the years I have shown myself no self respect with the amount of box dye I used, it's sad but true, so I FINALLY got the chance to get my hair professionally done, before I even got into the chair She made sure she knew everything that my poor hair had been through, from color treatment, to heat, to washing routines I mean EVERYTHING which is extremely important when providing clients with a consultation, when I showed her what I was going for she was honest with what the results would be and the sessions it would take unlike some stylist who just throw you in their chair and completely under deliver (this is a reason I have not got my hair done, I've witnessed many friends go through this horror story) I ended up asking her what she thought would be best for me, at the end of the day you have to trust your stylist and Nicki made me feel beyond comfortable when it came to trusting her with my hair. My whole experience was just amazing, the vibe of the salon in general is very nice, it's clean, the other people working there are polite and professional, Nicki also had a snack drawer which made my heart sing when she gave me a pack of cookies because my pregnant a** was hungry. LOL. After a few hours of getting my hair done she completely brought my hair back, the color work she did was absolutely amazing. My hair felt so healthy and I have received so many compliments on how warm and natural it looks considering I have pale skin. Nicki is amazing, and I can't wait to come back and have her touch up my hair, she truly helped me feel beautiful again.
This review is for Tina Soto. I was looking for a new place to get a color and cut and came across High Fashion Studios here on Yelp. I left a message and received a response within 48 hours from Tina herself. Tina is super nice and unlike any hairstylist before asked me to send her pics of my hair's current state and a pic of what I wanted. I wanted a darker red and to chop my hair to my shoulders. It was nice to walk into an appointment and have the hairstylist already know what I was coming in for down to the color and cut. We only had to iron out a few details. Not only did Tina meet all my hair expectations, but she blew them out of the water. I absolutely love the color of my hair now. She suggested we add in more brighter red pieces to pop against the darker red we used on the rest of my hair and it looks so cool! Those bright red pops are the kind of red I have been slowly edging towards these past several years and it was awesome to finally see that bright red in my hair. Also she listened so well to how I wanted my hair length. I have had hairdressers in the past take what I say and then continue to chop off more than I asked. It made me paranoid every time I got a cut. I didn't have that issue this time around. I also felt like for as much as I had done during this appointment, it went by really fast. I have had coloring appointments in the past feel like they take soooo long. It made me think that maybe my past stylists ignored for too long. Lol. It helped that the atmosphere in the salon is really nice and like I said before Tina herself is super friendly and is really fun to chat with. I had a great experience at this salon and I definitely recommend it. I have already gotten so many compliments on my hair. Thanks again Tina!
Tina Soto is a godsend!! I came to her for color correction after a humbling DIY color attempt and she fixed it exactly the way I wanted! I was able to get a hold of her via call/text and was able to work from the reference photos I sent her. She tries to understand what your style is like before starting and has targeted suggestions, which I highly appreciated since I've had stylists unwilling to do this before. She has an air of confidence that made it really easy to trust her, not to mention she's super down to earth and the salon itself has very relaxing vibes. She was very careful throughout the entire process and really knows what she's doing. As a result, the blonde I asked for actually feels healthier and more manageable than the last one I got from a previous stylist (which felt fried even after trimming). She also acknowledges the fun in getting experimental colors and styles, which will definitely have me coming back when I decide to have something more unconventional :) Thanks again Tina, it was a pleasure!
This review is long over due. This review is really based on Stephanie! Let me start with how SHE IS AN ANGEL!!! I found Stephanie on instagram (@a.vibe.called.steph), and always admired her work. To be honest, her work intimidated me because she worked with such vibrant colors and I was not into that at all. But I thought, if she's good with colors she has to be good with more basic hair colors. I decided to bite the bullet and message her. She asked about my hair journey, which included going to other stylists and never leaving satisfied to also dealing w/ some health issues that were reflecting in my scalp/hair. Stephanie listened to all my concerns and made me feel not self conscious about my situation. That was just everything to me!!! Come the day of my apt, I was so set on just getting a refresh on my balayage and cut off a lot of hair. Steph saw my inspiration photos and got started! We started w/ the cut and she let me cut my own hair. She really empowered me to let go of my long locks and made me feel confident in doing so. Long story short, she somehow convinced me to step out of my comfort zone and play with color. I was skeptical at first but I'm glad I did. I never thought I'd be into high fashion hair colors, but here I am. Each session a different color!! I highly recommend Stephanie and her assistant Monica! They are great!!!

IG @loveisinthehaiir_ This was my first time colouring my hair, I'm not gonna lie I was a little scared at first and since I wanted two colors this was like a big change for me, Also I have super long hair, on top of that I had box dyed my hair black a couple of years ago, and I had no idea my hair was going to give them a hard time, these two girls are amazing honestly, It was a really long process and I am so thankful that my hair came out to be exacly how I wanted it. Thank you Monica for doing this, I appreciate both of you guys work on my hair. The most important thing is that my hair feels healthy. This review is for hairstylist Charm, Charmazing, Charmaine! Where do I start? I came to Charm for a very natural Bob! Easy management and I wasn't expecting anything exciting; I just wanted an easy, manageable, hairstyle! Charm listened to me and went to work. Once completed she handed a mirror to check out my new du! Boy oh boy! I was in for a treat!!! My hair was beyond my expectations! The passion she put into my hairstyle spilt onto me!! My review is for both the venue and my personal stylist, Stephanie (IG @a.vibe.called.steph). Recommended to me by a mutual friend, i could not be happier that i found her! I came in with a grown out brassy ombré, and told her i wanted a lavender/magenta ombré. She asked for photos of my current hair prior to setting an appointment with me, and was VERY upfront and honest about pricing, time commitment, and what i could expect after sitting in her chair. Guys, Steph is a HAIR wizard! If you're looking to go for the trendy colorful "unicorn" hair that's everywhere on social media, she is YOUR GIRL! Not only did i get the results i was hoping for, but she managed to make it happen in one appointment. The salon is adorable, but not exactly obvious from the street. Steph let me know where to park and how to find it when i made my appointment. They have a photo wall set up for taking pictures of your hair before and after, complete with glam lights! Came to this salon following Stephanie; who worked on my hair way before. I first came when the salon was at a stage where they were revamping it. Great atmosphere and really friendly ladies! Now the revamp to this place is seriously so cute and chic! I love how cozy this salon makes me feel. From the moment you enter to the moment you sit in one of their chairs, you feel as if you're friends with all the girls. This place has it all. Nails, hair - color, cut, braids, extensions, and eyelashes. You can literally be pampered here if you need! I get my hair done by Stephanie - cut, color, and treated. I LOVE HER. You can't find anyone as passionate as her honestly. Especially in the Bay Area where everyone is competing with each other all the time. She's definitely more than a hair stylist to me but I definitely love her more for being an amazing colorist (; I have dark, stubborn Asian hair! Too stubborn to work with sometimes. I've been blonde for about 4 years now, so I struggle finding the perfect person to work with my hair. But let me tell you, Stephanie works magic with my hair! I walk out feeling so great about my hair! She literally surprises me every time I see her and I've been going to her for along time now! Working with her is so easy as well. You tell her what you want and she'll tell you how she'll get there. Whether it's coming back for another session, or she can actually get it done in one sitting. She's very honest and confident about her work and I love that about her! And ladies, you pay for quality, not wanna-be "goals." But Steph gives you both! I always fall back in love with my hair every time I see her. She has been trying to revive my hair from my pervious hair stylists and is very persistent on it. I recently jumped the gun and chopped my hair off to restart my unicorn journey with Stephanie (: As far as the other services there, I personally haven't got the chance to do anything else there. But I have met the other girls who work there and they are truly amazing. Especially Alonna - the nail artist - I've seen her work and she is honestly so gifted. Ok so I can't write a very descriptive review, but I can be very HONEST!! I called and asked if I could a same day appointment and TINA fit my daughter right in. So my daughters hair was down below her bottom, and its has this funky wave to it right in the center. So she went over all her options she asked me what I thought I wanted and she asked my daughter what she wanted. Then we discussed what she thought was good, combining all our ideas. She was very professional, especially having a young girl in her chair all while carrying adult conversations. (I say that because I was in a salon not to long ago where they didn't consider the fact they had children around) she was also very inspiring and gave me a lot of information of different options I have to go to school myself!! Tina was very informative, she offered several hair tips for my daughters hair, my hair and other people who with me as well. I highly recommend her and I will write another honest review once I have my hair completed my hair appointment on Wednesday,,,, Thank you Tina, Zoey loves her hair
Steph is still my hairdresser,and she's now dear to my heart. She creates magic onto your hair, and makes sure you leave owning all of that magic I'm of a certain age and I will say,I feel pretty sassy sporting these beautiful colors she created! ILY
Even after moving halfway across the country to Oklahoma, I still make it a ritual to come back twice a year for a dye session. Stephanie takes care of my hair and makes sure it fits my lifestyle and routine. 5 months later I still get compliments on how my hair color has faded. I'm 100% loyal for life!!

Hi there! Thick, pin straight, stubborn, dark brown head here to vouch for Nicki Zahra. I've went blonde (more like brass) once and never trusted another stylist to lift my hair color ever again. I'm extra particular about products and technique because I am CONFIDENT in what my hair requires. I would rather go years with my locks breaking off than to have any mediocre cut by just *anybody*. I will blow my last $75 on that GOOD good (products) for my hair before I pay my rent on time. I've had my fair share of disasters. From $12 corner hair shop trims, "Can I speak to the manager" stacked bobs, Garnier Fructise firey red box dyes, cutting my own bangs, to the "I'll just shave my sideburns off" identity crisis. I been THRU it to the point that my trust issues have convinced me that *I* tell the stylist how to do their job. Then they hate me and never return my calls. Maybe it was for the best. It's terrible, I know, but we all have a closer relationship to our hair than we realize. I did not realize that before coming to Nicki, but once I embraced that I was trusting a new stylist COMPLETELY, I knew I had to change if I wanted what I felt I deserved. I wanted the full experience of enjoying my hair journey. At my big age of 27 I'm trying this new thing called ~~~effectively communicating~~~ and it really took me where I needed to be with Nicki. She truly looks at your hairs resume - how long ago did you do this, was it a bad job? Which was your favorite job? Why did this style only last for a few months? What did you learn from that style? What are you looking for in your next hair journey? She really went above & beyond to make sure she was going to do her best to meet my needs. I felt warm & fuzzy inside. She C A R E S. I wanted to go lighter and have tons of dimension all while keeping my hair healthy since Im attending a wedding this following weekend. She educated me on the risks of taking my hair too light too soon and suggested we did it in sessions. She offered naughty snacks & drinks, and delivered a HELL of a head massage. I don't think anyone should be expecting this last service - but we stayed so late that she even offered to drop me off at BART. All of this is a true testament to Nicki's impeccable service. I am such a fan that I believe she honestly could excel in anything she put her mind on. If you are a victim of terrorizing your own hair, get cold feet when selecting a stylist, or even have the same thick brown straight hair as me and are looking to go lighter & FEEL great about yourself then I 10/10 recommend Nicki Zahra. I feel so beautiful and radiant all over again. I'm convinced I have the locks of the very first angel to have ever served the gods. I feel like Queen of the Narf. My review is for Stephanie (@a.vibe.called.steph on IG). I first found her on instagram and immediately fell in love with her work. Then going into my appointment, I had long dark roots, an uneven blonde, and some really dead ends (refer to the attached picture). I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she told me that we might not be able to get it exactly like the picture but we can try. Throughout the whole process, she educated me about what's actually going on with my hair as she did it which I really love and appreciated. She gave me lots of tips on how to take care of my hair and what I should avoid. In the end, the results exceeded my expectations and I was totally in love with my hair. Overall, Stephanie is super sweet, down to earth, and a very talented hair stylist. I would HIGHLY recommend going to her! read more

Monica has been coloring my hair for quite a few years now. She took me from my ugly box black hair to a beautiful purple, then to brown, then to the most beautiful shade of honey blonde. Recently I had a vision of a teal color I wanted for my hair and Monica executed it perfectly! She did a mixture of blue, green and purple to give me the perfect shade I envisioned. When I went back for a touch up, I asked her to do something different but keep it pretty similar. She ended up giving me a shade of teal that I did not expect but loved even more than the original. If you're looking for someone who will color your hair as well as keep the integrity of your hair in great condition, definitely contact Monica! She's amazing at what she does read more

So I went into the studio knowing I wanted a perm and had them done before with poor results. What can I say, I am an optimist! Tina told me straight up that I had thick hair, that it pulls down curls and makes them hard to stick and that she would try her hardest to get some fabulous curls for me...and DID she deliver! She somehow managed to give me sexy beach hair and beautiful spirals all while making it look totally natural! It took 3 of the longest hours of my life, and cost a pretty penny, but it was totally worth it. I couldn't have asked for a better product, and I respect her for being both so candid with me about the potential for a bad curl but also.being an optimist like me. I would definitely refer her and her establishment to my friends and family for a good hair makeover! read more

I've spent years struggling to find a hairstylist that fit my needs and educated me with the process for coloring hair. Let me just say Stephanie is PHENOMENAL!!! I've had bad experiences with bleach and color leaving my hair damaged, HOWEVER I've had two sessions with Steph and already my hair feels better than ever. I highly recommend booking with her. I wanted to change my hair color because it was so blah. It needed a change. So one day I was looking online for the latest hair trends. I kept seeing the ombré. I immediately liked it because it was different and I wouldn't need a touch up. I went on yelp and looked for salons that had great results for this ombré. I found High Fashion Studios and called to make an appointment. My stylists was Joe. He told me he's been doing hair since 15 years of age and had a lot of training. His work really shows his talent. Joe did the ombré just the way I pictured it would look and he also cut many layers to my long hair. Schedule an appointment with Joe and you won't be disappointed. This review is for Stephanie. Let me tell you! She is a hair wizard! My hair was crazy damaged when I first came to her. It was home bleached and dyed. She was really honest of how bad my hair was and the process that it was going to take for my hair to be healthy. She really knows her stuff and explains the process while she's dying your hair. She is super sweet and down to earth and makes me and my wife feel at home. She always fits me in her calendar even though I know she's super busy. For my bachelorette party she booked me right before my trip because she wanted to make sure my hair looked fresh. For my wedding she offered to drive all the way to Gilroy to refresh my hair the day before the wedding! I mean what else can I say she is just amazing! I have texted her on several occasions asking about hair products and she always responds (super quickly too!). I refuse to let anyone else touch my hair that's the reason why I don't mind driving to the salon from Gilroy. read more

I literally fly back to the bay area from Washington, DC every 3-4 months to get my hair done by Melissa Tilton (and to visit family). After a traumatic experience with a salon in DC, I refuse to let any other stylist touch my locks. She knows what she is doing, which is great because I hardly ever know what to do with my own hair. My last appointment, she did balayage peek-a-boo blonde highlights on my long dark hair. It has a natural subtle ombre to it, which doesn't look like I dip-dyed my hair in a bucket of bleach. Not to mention, she is so entertaining and down to earth to talk too. read more

So I bought a Groupon for a haircut and style for this place and needless to say I'm glad I did! Tina was awesome she cut and styled my hair and I LOVE IT! She accidentally double booked me but it was no big deal she didn't turn me away I just had to wait a little bit and I'm glad I did. They allow kids which was a huge plus. My nephew was super good and he enjoyed himself too. Tina offered him air hockey. What salon does that?! I really enjoyed this place plus it's neighbors next to one of my favorite places the Reptile Room! Also they are a network Bumble and Bumble Salon and sell their retail line. Which I adore! I will definitely be coming back to see Tina! Don't let the negative reviews sway you from not coming here! I think they are mostly from caddy chics anyways! read more
