It's like a 95 year old having a Ferrari…read more This Fun Spot is out in the boonies at the edge of the Atlanta metro area and lacks the happening vibes of the two Florida Fun Spots. Granted it was noonish when I was there but it was Saturday and the place was a ghost town. The layout is pretty odd as well. There's a secondary overflow parking lot on the midway next to a big stockade looking building and other old timey looking facades but most of it looks like a county fair or a family fun center like Barrymore's back home. I got my wristband to ride as much as I wanted for the day, even knowing I had to make it to Cape Canaveral by the end of the night and couldn't spend anything close to a full day here. I made a beeline for the fabled star attraction, ArieForce One. It looks great and a mere station wait was a welcome sight. The first 90% of ArieForce One completely lived up to the hype with an incredible mix of airtime hills, inversions and overbanked turns coming at a breakneck pace. Nothing was breaking my neck though, or causing the slightest bit of discomfort. Then came the series of bunny hills at the end with their violent ejector air. Absolutely killed my thighs whether I was in the front or the rear of the train. Felt like my thighs were getting jackhammered. Now I've ridden several coasters built by Rocky Mountain Construction, the manufacturer of ArieForce One. Iron Gwazi, Steel Vengeance, Twisted Cyclone and Goliath in addition to the one I'm talking about. All had the lapbars with the shin guards that let you go upside down without over the shoulder restraints. I've never had an issue with these RMC restraints on any of their other coasters that I've ridden. I thought I'd ride ArieForce One a dozen times or so. After one ride I went to ride a go kart track. It was okay nothing special. Came back for a second lap on ArieForce One. Once again I needed a break from it after that. I rode the park's other coasters, an unremarkable wild mouse called Hurricane. Hit the bathroom and took pictures of weird murals on the walls by video games and the food court. Came back for a third lap on ArieForce One. Once again it was exhilarating, exhilarating, more exhilarating then excruciating. I know a lot of coaster freaks are over the moon about ArieForce One - about the only other people riding it were maniacal masochists who were walking roller coaster encyclopedias. And I wouldn't mind working my way up to being a walking roller coaster encyclopedia but to be that I need to be able to walk. Love everything about ArieForce One until those bruising bunny hills at the finale. To me that ride is unmarathonable. Fortunately I did need to make good time on the road and I had lots of other fun things planned on this trip and I knew I would be spending a pretty penny so I didn't much mind the cash I sunk into that wristband. This Fun Spot is just so odd and its marquee attraction has a fatal flaw but I'll still give the place three stars. Here's to knowing when to say when.

USA Mgmt demonstrated a severe lack of integrity in almost every aspect of their operations. The hiring process was chaotic each time, with training requirements constantly changing depending on who he spoke with. He dealt with numerous employees each summer, and despite completing all requirements, his paycheck was withheld due to claims that he hadn't. It took over a month of persistent calls to get his certification properly uploaded. At the start of the 2024 season, the pool was at risk of not opening due to lifeguard certification issues. Shockingly, the company suggested forging certifications--an alarming practice, especially considering these certifications involve life-saving responsibilities. The clock-in/out app was unreliable, making it impossible to accurately track hours worked. Furthermore, USA Mgmt failed to update their insurance documentation, leading to the contract holder withholding payment, which caused the pool to close for several days. Instead of taking responsibility, USA Mgmt blamed the contract holder for non-payment, while the lifeguards, including my son, went nearly a month without pay. My son's last day of work was 7/27/24, and as of 9/4/24, he still hasn't received 2 paychecks. After repeated calls and follow-ups with a manager named Morris, I eventually sent a certified letter to their accounting dept. I was told 2.5 weeks ago that his checks were sent. When I asked when, I was not given a date and Morris blamed the USPS for checks taking a month or longer to be delivered. I was told again today they were sent and I asked when. He said today and did not have an explanation why he previously told me they were sent. This company's failure to pay minors on time, coupled with their illegal practices and indifferent attitude, is unacceptable. My son isn't the only one facing these issues--his fellow lifeguards have experienced similar frustrations. I am disgusted by their behavior and will be filing a formal complaint with the government to ensure these issues are addressed.

The new facility is sparkling and definitely worth visiting if you haven't seen it yet and becoming a member if you swim work out regularly. We paid about $250 for the family to join for the year and the bonus is that it gives the whole family access to all Atlanta public pools. The building is very open, bright (lots of natural light come in through the glass), and beautifully built. While ATL isn't the Northeast, winter is still somewhat more of a period of hibernation for a lot of people and the opening of this center provides a very nice public option for continuing to be active. It seems like they offer a wide variety of classes and activities for kids. While I can't speak to the basketball gym, workout facilities, and indoor running track on the second floor, the pool is great. It's helped our toddler develop an appreciation for the water and we haven't even tried their infant swim program yet. Some highlights of the pool are that the water is very warm, they have a beach front walk-in, a separate family changing room, a variety of aquatic toys for kids to enjoy, and a few fun sprinkler type poles in the pool. For parents looking to entertain their kids this could be a great drop-in option too at just $5 a visit I believe. My only complaints are 1) We've waited months to get our membership cards and the machine that prints them is always down or unavailable for some reason. This is obviously not such a big deal but 2) As this "undiscovered" gem is no longer so undiscovered, we've seen more and more swimmers come to the pool and it can be difficult to find a free lane to swim in now (especially around peak hours weeknights after work). This may just be what happens as you become a victim of your own success. The pool is huge but it's unfortunate that the way they built it the lanes cannot be expanded or added easily because the free swim section has a giant physical barrier from the lanes part.
