Excellent food as prepared by Juan Carlo. My initial impression was " not easy to find". Parking was limited within a small strip mall. However the food presented was absolutely awesome. Had the birria meal with the carne asada taco. Flavorful, excellent portions, clean & fresh off the stove. I will definitely revisit and patronize this establishment! I decided to come check this place out, due to the high reviews. I noticed it said they had recently changed owners when I walked in, and all their menus were hand written on poster boards, but didn't think anything of it. I ordered one quesabirria taco, one chicken taco, and a large order of guacamole (the chips were free). The quesabirria taco was dry, flavorless, soggy, falling apart, and mostly fat. The chicken taco was inedible, as it was dry, flavorless, and tasted like it had been made days earlier, refrigerated, then rewarmed in a microwave. Then the guacamole was the worst part, it was flavorless, liquidy, and I didn't eat it. I actually went to Del Taco to get guacamole after seeing what I was given from this place. I would not recommend this place at all, and I unfortunately went in about 30mins before they were closing, so I couldn't go back to get a refund. I gave it 2 stars, cus it was only $11 for everything, and the service from the cashier was ok. read more

Really good food and friendly staff. I've tried this place a few times and they're always tasty. Today, I did have a couple things wrong with my order though. Instead of the cabeza tacos I ordered, I was given buche which is the one meat I don't really care for. I also asked for sour cream and guacamole in the burrito and I'm pretty sure there wasn't sour cream in it; however, I could be wrong. Not huge mistakes and I'm not mad or anything, I still ate the whole burrito which says a lot because they are HUGE. The lady up (I didn't get her name) front was super friendly and helpful with the menu and the man cooking our food literally began to cook it as soon as we paid so our food was hot and the cheese was melty! The lady up front brought our food out to us and the super hot salsa was legit hot and the salsas that came with the chips were a deep red hot and a green salsa that tasted like they were made with roasted chiles. Oh Boy! I think I found my new taco spot, It's really hard to find really good authentic Mexican tacos, especially up here in the desert. Several long time taco eateries in the high desert have been operating for more than 10 years and their tacos still taste horrible, you would think that they would improve on it. Especially with the bad reviews people give. Well let's just say high desert tacos certainly has very little to improve on as their taco presentation and flavors just popped Beginning with the nice and oiled corn tortillas which a lot of taco places fail to note that it takes a little bit of oil to make a great taco! The red sauce from high desert tacos has just a little bit of heat to just please the palate it has a hint of chipotle then you dress it with the lime and a radish and you're all set. The serving of meat is really really good especially in the covid times that we are living in right now people are pretty stingy with their servings, not so much here. Tacos are a little pricey at two bucks a pop but hey, it's worth it with the amount of meat they put on your each taco, usually 4 to 5 tacos is my limit I got five and I got stuffed on five I pushed it to the limit though. They are mini tacos and I still got stuffed. Hopefully this place sticks around for a long time. read more
