We just bought a house on acreage in the Tumalo area with the aid of Susie Biggs. Susie was and continues to be AMAZING! As people coming from the city buying acreage in a more rural area was foreign to us. However she skillfully guided us through the process of wells, irrigation rights, septic systems, and general information about the area. We called Susie on the recommendation of a friend who had bought a house with her in Bend and as soon as we had our first conversation we understood why they had highly recommended her. She is a straight talker, thorough, efficient, quick on the ball, and just really delightful to work with. When we started the process of looking for a house in Bend our initial plan was for a place in town however this changed rather rapidly to buying on acreage. Susie was right there to help guide us. She knows the areas in and around Bend very well and will help you get to the area that will suit your needs. Once she gets to know you and what you want, which is REALLY quick, she will offer her honest advice such as, I know that area, house, neighborhood and I don't think it's what you're looking for. She will always take you to see the place if you really want but after you see it you'll likely be like us and say, "oh, yah, you're right." Because of her knowledge of the area and how well she learns her clients Susie's gentle guidance will save you a lot of time in searching for a home. Susie made herself available to us whenever we needed, I.e. nights/weekends/holidays. She really went to bat for us and made sure we understood what we were buying and that we were protected. The sellers' agent was a little rough to deal with as in I would never use/recommend the sellers' agent, however, Susie professionally and graciously managed the sellers' agent on our behalf ensuring that our questions were answered about the property. Susie thought of every detail all the way through and was always on top of the last minute details. She thought of things that we would have never have thought about. She really made us feel safe and protected Now after the close of the sale, Susie continues to be available to us whenever we have questions. We could not be more disappointed with our experience using High Desert Realty and Will Florence. Our house closed Jan 12 and we completely moved in March 13th. In all that time we did not hear from our agent- no welcome to your new home card, no gift, no visit, no contact at all. He didn't help us with hiring labor to move in, or come check on us. Everyone we have met since moving in says that is very strange for Bend. All of our new friend rave about their real estate agents and how generous and kind they were. We, unfortunately, can not say the same. read more

I am very disappointed that I let Team Birtola list and sell my house. First of all, I think our realtor Milo was more in it for the buyers than us. It felt like he was telling the buyers realtor that we would negotiate more. I feel that he was not on our side of the sale but on the buyers side. Also, 2 times during the time our house was listed the buyers friends attempted to gain unauthorized access to our home. One time with the buyers realtor showed up with the buyers friends to show them the house when Milo told her we'd be away.... during covid lock downs, no less. The second time was 3 days before the new owners had access to the house but technically owned it, we were doing a rent back, without any notice the buyers friend unlocked the front door and walked right in. My teenage son was home alone. These things are completely unacceptable... and very dangerous as we have a guard dog. Very shady dealings going on with this place. I would not recommend unless you want to feel taken advantage of at every single turn. read more
