We were incredibly fortunate to find Dakota at High Desert Labradoodles when we were searching for the perfect family dog. Dakota and her family raise one litter of pups at a time and dedicate all of their time to getting the pups ready to join their families - including crate and potty training and riding the car. We could not have been more thrilled with our experience with High Desert Labradoodles. Our family had experienced the traumatic loss of a young dog to bone cancer, and we weren't sure we were ready to open our hearts again. I had heard of HD Doodles through a friend and reached out to Dakota on a whim. Her warmth, empathy, generosity of time, and understanding of our first situation made it very clear to me that we wanted to get our next dog from her. The love and knowledge that she pours in to caring for the mamas during the birth process and the puppies during those first eight weeks is unbelievable. From day one, she is taking steps to ensure her puppies are healthy, strong, and exposed to as many household sounds and experiences as possible. After the pups were born, we received so many photos and videos of the litter at each little milestone. Weekly emails included photos of each pup as their physical traits and personalities started developing. She cares about the household that each puppy goes home to and does so much to ensure a good match. We could not be more in love with our sweet girl, Juniper. Dakota absolutely set us up for success with training tips and early introductions to the crate, potty training, and car rides. Thanks to the foundation she laid, Juniper was crate-trained and sleeping through the night in 3 days, (mostly) potty trained within a week or so, and is fine in the car (including our 10-hour drive home from Bend). I'm privileged to be working with HDLabradoodles as a guardian for Rue who is 22 mos old. She was whelped by Dakota March 2020. She will be bred on her next heat cycle. I can't say enough about Dakota Dawson and family and her standard of raising these sweet puppies. She has so much experience with human birthing that it Carrie's over to the pups. She cares deeply and starts working with these babies to acclimate them to the world. Never seen anything so special as their kids snuggling a pup and reading or singing to them and handling them. She gives so much attention to every detail and is wonderful to work with. Don't let her being a newer breeder stop you. I've known her for maybe 5 years as her kids and my grands go to school together. I've always admired her dogs.
