High Desert Aussies is an amazing Aussie Breeder! We got 2 dogs from her over the years and they are so well adjusted and are aging gracefully. Our Girl is now 10 and our boy is 7 and they both still love to hike and enjoy the outdoors with us.

The dog I received from her was diagnosed with lupus at 1 years old. Which IS GENETIC ... once I called her to inform her of this to give her the opportunity to have the knowledge of which two of her dogs were bred together she took no accountability. She is a fraud. I would never get another dog from her. Definitely wouldn't recommend anyone else does either. She will say she doesn't remember me but that's the point... SHE SHOULD . We talked 4 years ago actually. She will deny and say it's not genetic but if she did her research and due diligence...she would find out there are many kinds and SLE LUPUS IS GENETIC. I have spent the last four years with my dog in and out of vet clinics because of the lupus and seen 13 different vets and specialists. EVERY SINGLE one of them has said LUPUS IS GENETIC. The one I met with yesterday was shocked you would try to deny it. If you are going to breed dogs you should educate yourself and prevent this from happening to other people. DO BETTER.

We can not say enough good things about the newest member of our family. A beautiful miniature…read moreAustralian Labradoodle from High Desert Labradoodles in Bend , Oregon. The entire process (from putting in our deposit before the puppies were even born to picking up our little Wilson at eight weeks), had an easy flow all the way through. Dakota (the owner) was very forthcoming with pictures, videos and helpful tips for transitioning our puppy. She carefully matched our puppy to our description of lifestyle and the personality we desired. Wilson is thriving with us due to his early days with Dakota. He is a very healthy, happy puppy and has no health issues whatsoever. We highly recommend High Desert Labradoodles .

I did an…read moreenormous amount a research into breeders and Dakota's operation rose to the top, time and time again. It made my choice very clear. High Desert Labradoodles produces one litter at a time, raising puppies in their home, with an incredible focus on their wellbeing, temperament and socialization. Dakota's philosophy and commitment to both the mother and puppies is unmatched. Each puppy, from birth through the careful matching process with each home, is gently and deliberately handled, loved and socialized. The puppies are loved on by her wonderful family, including her two daughters, which was a large bonus for our family. We were looking for a family dog, which Australian labradoodles are well known as, but being raised from day one around and handled by smaller hands was a wonderful asset. Dakota runs such an ethical, mindful business. She is wonderful and was happy to answer any questions I had before our puppy was born, in the eight weeks our puppy was in her care and even when we took our puppy home. Everywhere we go, our petite girl Granger (from Leo and Dory's litter), receives numerous compliments on her temperament, looks, and affectionate nature. I am constantly asked to give the name of our breeder and happily share High Desert Labradoodles name every time. Granger was potty trained and sleeping fully through the night within 10 days of coming to our home, a true testament to the extra effort High Desert Labradoodles and Dakota put into working with the puppies. I highly recommend High Desert Labradoodles!

I found Maia in Jan 2026. She had a litter born 12/18/25, and had 2 girls left. I needed the smallest, calmest dog I could find, due to my multiple disabilities. She was extremely wonderful sending weight updates, and photos for my children to see. She was flexible with payment, not on price per say, but on the time frame, being understanding of our low income. When it was almost time for Nala (Princess Nala Sweet Serenity) to come home, my husband unexpectedly ended up in the ICU, and she was very flexible with delivery dates, and showed great concern for my husband and our family, praying with us until he was released. When she arrived with Bri Maia's helper, it was nothing short of amazing. Bri was extremely kind and went through the giant tote bag Maia sent with her with 2 blankets, a bag of her food, 2 things of wet food in case, 3 toys, potty pads, and all her paperwork which Bri read to me. Maia has continued to check on Nala and we can't be more pleased with her. She is currently 1 pound 8 oz, and is in training to be my service dog. She's the smallest, calmest dog I've ever seen. She never barks, and only rarely play growls at her toys, or whines a tiny tiny doesn't sound real whine if I'm too slow for her royalness. She doesn't pull towards other dogs, cats, kids, people, food, etc. like every other dog including some professionally trained service dogs from huge organizations I have had have. She quietly and with grace rides in my left arm, serene and happy with everything. Nothing phases her.

We are first-time dog owners and any time I have a question, Maia gets back to me right away. There are cheaper dogs out there, but be careful. There are also more expensive ones, but I can't imagine a better dog just because it is more money. We highly recommend Maia!

Both dogs are awesome, we socialized them from day one, trained them daily, and both have titles in agility, both are trusted with everyone from toddler to adult, both are great with dogs from tiny toy to giant danes ... I recommend this breeder to anyone who wants a smart & athletic aussie. These are high energy herding dogs by breed, and you must be prepared to put the time into them, but the rewards are awesome :)

But I didn't like the way the breeder's daughter was handling the pup, and my nurturing instincts said "lets save this poor puppy." The day after we got home he snarled at me. Nothing serious, but definitely more than just "puppy mouthing." I called the breeder and she assured me that he was held in all different ways and never showed any sign of aggression. So I figured it must be an isolated incident. Fast forward to 5 months old. Now our dog won't let us touch him, pet him or handle him in any way without snarling. If we don't back off, he will definitely bite. He has drawn blood. I contacted the breeder and was told that they "had never had any feedback like this on any of their animals." I've talked to multiple professionals in this area and virtually all of them have told me that they have seen many problem dogs from this breeder. I have also been told that the breeder's response to me is their pat answer and that many people were told the same thing. We are now working with our 3rd trainer, are on our 3rd vet, and are finally finding ways we can handle him with multiple treats, much encouragement, and patience, patience, patience. He's an incredibly smart dog and has great potential. But it seems that we are always going to have to be on our guard, likely won't be able to comfortably pet or handle him. And if he slips up and bites someone we'll have to put him down. We got him at a good price ($400), but this is the most expensive $400 dog we've ever had.
