We took our 6 year old lab to Cascadia Canine for a 90 minute lesson. Within the lesson, we observed a lot of improvements in her behavior. Bryan, the trainer, was incredibly helpful. He gave us a whole new perspective on our dog's behavior, and how to apply that perspective when training. read more

Had an awesome 1:1 training with owner Bryan for my miniature poodle. My dog is 10 months and was becoming very reactive to other dogs while out walking. It was embarrassing and uncomfortable . After meeting with Bryan one time, my dog and I have done a complete 180. I am literally SO HAPPY. We also taught him to wait. He walks with a loose leash now! Can't wait to do the dog day camp soon and now considering the agility training too! Thanks Bryan!!! read more

Bryan is spectacular! His knowledge and care for the family/pet bond is remarkable. He knew as much about our 16-month-old dog in 10 minutes as we did in over a year. He's a great teacher who creates great outcomes. I would suggest that if anyone doesn't have a good experience with Bryan, it's because they are not trainable! read more

BRYAN WORKS- we had Immediate results!!! I was referred to Bryan at Cascadia Canine Training School by my Vet. My 4 year old corgi's reactivity to triggers had become unmanageable for me. I scheduled a 90 min private lesson with Brian, and in less than 15 minutes, Brian had my dog deescalated and following simple commands. The session was immediately impactful , duplicatable by me, and I had my best friend back in less than 90 minutes!!! 10/10 Experience. read more

I couldn't be happier with my experience with CCTS! Bryan's methods are clear, precise and effective. He understood immediately that my dog was sensitive and made little adjustments to guide her to each training objective with ease. After each session, I received a follow up email, reinforcing what the lesson was, which aided in "at home" work with my dog. This was an invaluable tool. I followed Bryan's expert guidance every week and in the end... I have a well mannered, obedient dog AND that includes 100% recall! My experience at CCTS was beyond my expectations and I'm forever grateful. ps: Emily is Cascadia Canine Training School's other half and she is incredibly generous with her time, ALWAYS has a smile on her face and wants to help in anyway. Such a gem. read more

Cascadia was recommended by my vet who I have trusted with my "family" for a long time. I have had black labs for most of my life, but a year ago I got "Briggs". Briggs is a black Newfoundland who is a huge, giant baby!!! As a puppy I knew I needed help....I am a 68 year old, 5 foot, 95 lb lady, with a dog who is taller than I am and weights more than me! I took Briggs to Brian and never had a better time. He taught me how to handle my giant love bug without getting plastered against the wall.... and being just ignored. After several months he is the best dog I have ever had!!! Briggs goes with me where ever I go ..he's so well behaved and people just love him. I can not thank you both for everything you have done....Briggs is now the perfect old lady dog!!! read more

We rescued a little dog from Mexico who is very fearful of other dogs. He had our pup feeling much more confident and relaxed in a mind-bogglingly short time. We've still got work to do with our pup but I know Bryan will help us make our pup the best dog our family could ask for. read more

We were referred to Bryan at Cascadia Canine Training School for help when we added a second dog to our family. Our new pup was a year old when we got him and was on his 5th home. He had zero obedience training and major trust/socialization issues. Bryan helped us train him, and in the process we have gained the pups trust and respect. We are so grateful for Bryan's expertise and guidance during this very difficult transition! As a bonus, Bryan does doggie daycare during the week! It is very comforting to know that our fur babies will be in good hands when they get their weekly play date. read more

I just read Lisa"s "Review" of Bryan and CCTS and decided to not let this gals poor work ethic with her dog discourage me from taking my 6 month old Golden Retriever in to work w/Bryan. We have waited 6 months to get in to Bryan's training program. His wife Emily was WONDERFUL when we called to learn more about Cascade, as I had heard numerous good things about this trainer from very upstanding professionals here in Bend. I suppose every trainer is not good for all dogs or their owners....Law of averages, but please know that we must not only show up with our dogs and puppies when we take on serious training. We must also take A POSITIVE ATTITUDE WITH US! read more

I highly recommend Cascadia Canine Training without any reservation. Brian is the BEST dog trainer! I'd give 10 stars if I could. We have the perfect dog. We really do. We adopted Emmett a little over 3 years ago, and we started to experience different challenges with him. Some were getting dangerous. The first one being that he forged while walking on a leash. I've trained many horses that weren't as strong as Emmett. My right shoulder started taking a beating from the constant forging and pulling. I simply could not hold Emmet back. I spoke to dog experts, other trainers, tried various collars, harnesses, gentle leads, and nothing worked. The forging started to get worse, and Emmett started to lunge toward dogs he didn't like, dragging me halfway across the street to get to them. He became more aggressive, started marking more on our walks and runs, and the dog park was out of the question. He also started going "junkyard dog" when someone walked by our fence and at other dogs. Neighbors complained It was no fun walking Emmett. He simply would not listen. My right shoulder continued to get worse. Finally, after interviewing various "dog experts," I was referred to Brian Castleberry of Cascadia Canine Training. He was excellent. Brian conducted himself professionally over email, and we went for our first lesson. I watched enough of Cesar Milan on TV and read his books to know that half the battle (or more) is usually the owner (me). I needed to be educated. Brian was a gift to my husband and me and definitely our dog, Emmet. I totally identified with what he explained to me and why Emmett has exhibited the behavior of forging, marking, aggressiveness, and simply not listening. Brian explained it in words my husband and I understood. Emmett was acting as the CEO of the family, and "I" was the one that needed to be the CEO, not Emmett! After ONE CLASS, we had a very different and happy dog! We got the proper collar and lead from Brain, and our life literally changed overnight! That evening we walked a very well-behaved and HAPPY dog! Emmett was happy, and Anthony and I were enjoying our walks once again. We enjoyed the class so much that we decided to continue our training and Emmett's education with Brian. We signed up for 6 classes. Today, Emmett graduated with flying colors! Sit, sit-stay, down-stay (4 minutes), come, heel and Brian brought in another dog, and Emmett was outstanding! No fighting. We are now moving to off-leash training, and we can't wait! If you love your dog and want to be educated by a very skilled, bright, and gentle trainer, Brian is your guy. Everything thing Brian taught us was very gentle and compassionate. Our dog Emmett cannot wait to get out of the car and run to see Brian. It's as if he is thanking Brian for educating US! We have a much happier and loving dog who is enjoying life, thanks to Brian's many years of training dogs. Brian truly gets them! read more

Bryan is an excellent trainer. If you're looking to get your pup whipped into shape, or in need of a trustworthy dog sitter, look no further. read more

Pretty disappointed after a few training sessions. He recommended a pronged choke collar which ended up being the most helpful part of the training. Not a pleasant attitude to work with, we will be looking for a new trainer. read more

Dewey last year would not have gone anywhere near another dog he wasn't raised with. He now has a new buddy Boe, who at first he was afraid with, but he now has weekly play dates and walks with! This means the world to me and makes me so happy, I can't wait to continue training with Bryan! My dog has done so much better! read more

A little over a year ago, my lab puppy was kicked out of not one, but two doggie day cares because he was a VERY energetic lab puppy....not a proud moment for me! Additionally, I had tried another training school and Raji had a very hard time concentrating on the lessons. Someone gave me Bryan's contact information and he was up for the challenge! Raji quickly graduated from on-leash to off-leash training. The training collar is wonderful and now he needs very little correction. At 2.5yo, he still has LOTS of engery, but we can redirect it in a positive way. Bryan is Bend's dog whisperer! He loves the dogs and they love and respond to him! Raji is very happy at Bryan's place and I am grateful to him for training me to work with my funny, happy, very high energy lab! read more

Bryan is Bend's Dog Whisperer. His love of dogs and expertise in training enables him to turn any dog into a well behaved canine citizen. I adopted a 10-months old chocolate lab who had two major problems: dragging me wherever he wanted to go on walks and whining constantly in the car. After the first lesson with Bryan, my dog walked on a loose leash and after 6 weeks of training, I can proudly take him ANYWHERE. In addition, we have, once again, peace and quiet in the car. Fellow hikers have stopped me on the trail asking "is this the same dog?". I highly recommend Cascadia Canine Training School. Thank you, Bryan! read more

Our four year old german shepherd was very dominant towards other dogs due, mostly, to some bad experiences at the dog park. With Bryan's training, (for us and her), we can hike and she can be around other dogs again. He also taught us how to get her used to horses, goats, cats etc. She is now in Cascadia Canine doggie day care and doing great. Bryan is an excellent trainer that we highly recommend. My 2 female dogs have been going to Cascadia for 3 years. We love them and the dogs love them even more! On Wednesdays they are excited and can't wait to get there. They are exhausted when I pick them up, which is nice for me.-Sara and Kelley read more

Bryan helped get our 7 year old, big boy GSD, Tyson, back! He was leash reactive and exhibiting dominant behavior toward other dogs. Thanks to Bryan, Tyson and I have the confidence and skills to be around other dogs again. He can even go to doggie day care! read more

We were referred to Bryan and Cascadia Canine Training School by our vet. We adopted a lab/pit puppy and although he gets a lot of love and attention from his people, his dog brother (11 years old) wants nothing to do with him. The Dog Day School has been a great way of socializing the pup with other dogs. He comes home exhausted from a day of play and basic skills like crate training. read more
