Only a 10 minute drive to Watkins Glen and 16 minutes from the festival, walking distance to wineries and breweries, and only 1 hour and 20 minutes from Rochester. Second, this place is gorgeous. The farm house is on eight acres of land and still has many of the historic early 19th century features and charm, but with modern amenities like new bathrooms and WiFi. Each room has so many period details and charming features. Third, it's got everything you need for your stay: firepit with lots of wood and marshmallow sticks, fully stocked kitchen with some dry goods, bathroom with a hairdryer and fluffy towels, lots of indoor and outdoor seating, and more! We were also greeted by an amazing selection of local snacks like cheese, meat, juice and more. Finally, it's a cozy place to relax and refresh. The beds (there are 5 of them, along with 3 bathrooms) are super comfy, there's AC to keep you cool, and the front porch gives you a view of the lake. Excited to visit again!

The owner was lovely and helpful. The facilities were clean and very cute. The best part is that it is a lakefront property. We especially enjoyed sitting on the dock to watch the sunset. I am really glad they did. We stayed in a two bedroom unit with my parents. There was plenty of room for all of us. There were plenty of blankets and towels, and the full-sized kitchen gave the place a nice home-like feel. There were even chilled glasses in the freezer for our drinks! The view from the patio is amazing. We enjoyed some time just sitting outside watching boats sail around the lake. For the July 4th fireworks, we sat on the deck (which is exclusive for guests) right on the water. We could not have asked for a better view. As much as we liked the atmosphere of the room, we liked the owners even better. We interacted mostly with Olga, who was so sweet and accommodating. Anything we needed was provided. She treated us to a fresh watermelon, and even allowed my wife (who is a die-hard Buffalo Bills fan) to take a Bills glass that was in the freezer home. I cannot say enough good things about Admiral Peabody's. It is definitely a place at which I would stay over and over again.

We needed to find last-minute accommodations that would allow our dog and also didn't cost $500 a night after our van broke down unexpectedly. Admiral Peabody's was an affordable, clean and dog friendly hotel in Watkins Glen that we totally lucked into because it didn't even come up on our searches! This place totally exceeded our expectations. Admiral Peabody's doesn't feel like a hotel. It feels like your own lakeside cottage. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite. We were able to sneak a look at the one bedroom bungalow cottages which were also adorable! Our suite was roomy, comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. It was also really nice sitting on the deck right outside of our room. PLUS, Admiral Peabody's has a private dock right on the lake with tables, chairs and a blue tooth music system. I'm not sure how old this yelp listing is but the owner now is Luke. HE IS THE BEST. If you are looking for a great place to stay in Watkins Glen, don't pass up this hidden gem.

The family dog, Mayzie, greeted us upon arrival and was an instant friend and model hostess! The separate guest house is spacious and cozy, with a wood burning stove, living room and large kitchen on the first floor, and two queen/king beds and two singles on the second floor, so great for families. The grounds are gorgeous, with family horses roaming and rolling fields. The location is great--red newt winery is in walking distance and the Seneca Wine Trail right off Tichenor Road. stayed here in sept 2012 for a girls weekend. the finger lakes are beautiful this place was not. we…read morestayed in a renovated barn ( i use term renovated loosely) the place was just plain filthy the toilet had not been cleaned for quite some time, the kitchen had mousetraps set in large gaps underneath the counters. there were mouse droppings in the toasters, the coffee pot had old dried coffee in it, some of the cabinets were taped closed with masking tape because they didn't close, upon opening the cabinets we found old paint cans, a variety of drills, old christmas decorations etc. looked like the place was used as a garage instead of a kitchen. in addition to that there was miscellaneous junk stashed and stuffed in every corner, a large vat of what appeared to be cooking oil, breast pads and half empty water bottles in bureau drawers the fridge was dirty with crumbs, spills and leftover food from previous renters. when we awoke afer our first night the mice had eaten our breakfast. they had chewed through bags of bagels, bread and danish, they left droppings in our wine glasses. when i contacted the owner regarding these issues she replied that we were charged a modest price for modest accomodations and refused to give us any compensation. we were charged $115 per night for a filthy barn infested with mice. she said it was cozy and rustic. i am a well traveled person both here in the us and abroad. i've stayed on working farms before, cozy and rustic i expect but there is no such thing as charmingly filthly. i've stayed in nicer tents .don't stay here you'll be wasting your modestly hard earned cash.

1. We found this location on air bnb. The pictures were beautiful and serene. The owners live on…read morethe property and have 4/5 other cottages they rent out. The cost was 295$ per night. Towels, toiletries, linens, WiFi and a TV was included. Communication between owner and us was prompt. The property is gated - the cottage was clean upon arrival. The location was convenient to Cornell University and Ithaca college. The grocery store was also very close by. And the property was quiet and bed was comfortable. They do allow pets for an additional fee - so we took our 2 dogs. 2. Picture on Air BnB were deceiving. Only 1-2 cottages have the view that were depicted online. The Anticipated view was the main attribute that attracted us to this property. The Stone cottage has only a view of the home the owners live in. 3. There is no kitchen. We anticipated a small kitchenette and we got a dorm style refrigerate and microwave, a non functioning hot plate, and a kettle. There is no kitchen sink so we were left to wash the dishes with paper towels and our hands in the bath tub or bathroom sink because there were no sponges or items to clean dishes. There is no counter space. Minimal dishes were provided but we questioned how clean they were. 4. Bathroom and bathing - if you are traveling with a new significant other this is not the place for you. Plan on an uncomfortable bathroom experience. The toilet has a partitioned wall without a ceiling. Basically everything you do is heard loud and clear. The shower and bathroom sink is open to the rest of the living space. 5. There is a patio with community grill. No grilling utensils were provided but the grill was adequate. We enjoyed the patio space however the space is community so you may have to coordinate your cooking and dining time. We were fortunate to not have to share while we stayed here. 6. The "pond" and the grounds in general. Poor upkeep! The grass was not cute. Garbage bins filled to the brim. Owners dogs have free rein of the property but were not aggressive. It wasn't uncommon for the chickens to be outside of the coup either. We anticipated the dogs being able to swim in the pond as it was advertised as a beautiful feature of the property. The pond likely not taken care of in quite some time. There was tons of algae present. It was overgrown with weeds and the "porch swing" by the pond was rusted and moldy - again advertised as a nice peaceful way to spend your evening. 7. Location - this was much further from the lakes and wineries than anticipated - if you want to do a wine trail - plan on a good 30 minute drive to the first winery on the west side of the lake. 8. Overall a disappointing trip. We drove over 5 hours to stay here based on how it was advertised.

They added extra fire pits so you can go to the community fire place or have your own private time. Everything was perfectly clean, much better than many hotels I have stayed in. The bath house had lots of amenities. Two of the tents have electricity for fans and lamps. Every tent has a battery charger for your phones. It was so wonderful to wake up to the sound of birds. We will have to come back when the sauna is finalized! Thank you for a wonderful time.

The check in spot has a note with the owners phone to call. They show you the amenities and to your tent. The lounge has tables to eat and exchange your lanterns. I did not use the lantern to charge my phone I brought a battery pack. They have umbrellas and rain boots you can use if you need to. The breakfast had coffee. Tea, and a tea kettle if you need boiling water for oatmeal. I ate a crescent roll and jelly for breakfast and a yogurt with granola. The lounge also had fliers for attractions near by. The bathroom was clean and nice. It was a but of a walk if you stay in Aspen, but you also have privacy. The campfire was lit every night but you did have to share with the other glampers but everyone was very nice. The pond is newly constructed but will look nice once it is all settled. I ate out but there were two grills available for use in the cooking area. We also took their wine tour. It was $100 per person but I would say worth it and very convenient! Christine is very knowledgable about wine. The price included stops to 5 wine tastings at different places. One stop served lunch, lunch was at your own cost. After the tour we had a back in the tent before heading out again. The inside of the tipi was very cute and I would stay again.
