The person I spoke with on the phone today when I was asking if my package was delivered was very rude and condescending. I didn't need to know how many packages they receive daily and that opening someone else's mail is illegal. I just needed to know if my package arrived. The man should have respectfully stated that he needs a tracking number and that's all. I will not be doing business of any kind here, there's plenty of reputable shops that can easily handle requests without this type of condescending attitude and that's where I will be going from now on. I'm not sure what triggered this type of behavior towards me, but I don't do business with places that don't appreciate their customers and behave in this manner. read more

Done tons of business with High Caliber. I have bought, sold guns, ammo, knives and accessories. I have had friends in Dads about to buy a gun and I've talked them out of buying there and encouraged them to High Caliber. This was always due to very knowledgeable staff, best prices when the buy and sell most items. I have went to a gun show and found something I wanted and left and went to High Caliber. However a recent visit left me feeling different. Use to when I went to High Caliber it seemed I almost got treated special as they knew I was a long time customer and fan. However experience on Saturday left me feeling different. I was trying to sell a gun to basically buy another one from them at the same time. The gun I was trying to sell them is a gun I bought from high caliber a little over a year ago and other than 50 rounds through it, it looks new. This gun was bought for $800 and she offered me $400 and basically said we have high inventory so we are having to offer lower prices. I was shocked and left not making a sell or purchase. The gun was in the hard case with all paperwork and receipt. I was really shocked on such a low offer. If I have a different experience if there is a next time I will update this review. As of now the experience was bad and the nice friendly faces I usually get was very different. Normally I get an offer right away but the guy who helped me couldn't give a price and had to go ask someone else. Anyway may not give up on them after just one bad experience but it was a very very different experience in all my purchase and sells from them so I was shocked. After reading my review over and realizing I have had more positive experiences than negative I changed it from 1 star to 3 because they have been great. Good prices, knowledgeable staff and a cool place. Maybe when their inventory gets lower I will give them another chance to sell to and see if it's just typical business highs/lows. Regardless of how my experience went I can say they have an amazing selection of guns and even knives. But if nothing else considering their inventory is high right now and they may not be able to offer the best price it may be a good idea to explore and give all local gun shops a chance going forward to ensure you get the best deal. read more

I drove from Ocean Springs to make a purchase here, about a 45 minute drive. There are many firearm retailers closer to me, in which I could make a purchase. However, High Caliber had what I wanted and with a good price. Additionally the staff was great, the girl that sold to me was very knowledgeable and really nice. My purchase didn't take long at all. The store was busy at the time but the staff never seemed overwhelmed and acknowledged all the customers. They treated everyone like a friend/family member, not just another customer. They also had a very nice selection of firearms and accessories. I will definitely be back soon to make another purchase. read more

I first heard about this place from someone at a gun range, decided to check it out and ended up purchasing a Ruger AR 556 from them. My background was delayed so they told me they'd call me in a couple days. Never called so by the 4th day I called myself and they said I was good to go to pick up my weapon (I've purchased weapons at Academy and other gun shops before with delays on background, but they've always called back promptly to inform me that I'm good to go and ready for pick up. 24 hours at most from these other establishments). Not an issue now that I have my permit though. Not a very good first impression given that I feel I probably didn't have to wait that long to pick it up but only because they never bothered to call me or didn't have any notes or listing set up as reminders to get back to those they've told they'd call back. Next time I decided to bring my girlfriend over to purchase the same rifle. They didn't have it in stock, but one of the employees there says that they don't have it right now, but can have it next day for us to pick up. So we decided to put a deposit down to have it ordered and expected to pick it up next day or at least 2 days. At day 3 I called to check on it, the person who picked up doesn't sound like someone who knows how to communicate from a customer service perspective (Not that you should expect this at your local gun shop as I've noticed most gun shops just don't have that friendly and welcoming feel when you walk in. Like pulling teeth to get their attention sometimes). This person just picks up the phone and goes "High Caliber" in a very unenthused tone. No name as to who is speaking or a "How may I help you today?" None of those things. I asked for a status update on whether the Ruger AR 556 was back in stock and that we had a deposit down on one that was ordered while we were there the other day, and the person on the phone stated that the inventory checked in today didn't have it, but the inventory guy will be back the next day and will see if the batch of shipments unopened has the Ruger I'm waiting on, and then he'd call back. Not sure whether he'll call back given that he didn't ask for a name on the deposit or if the number I called him on is a good number to be reached. There's only one person there that's more than able to assist and that is Michele who apparently is the only one that knows how to use the computer program they use (Probably the reason for the long waits for items because no one there other than her can use the system to order the products). I'm really not one to speak on this stuff because it's a waste of my time. They own the place so they'll run it however they'd like. But I actually brought them more business by bringing my girlfriend to their store to purchase a weapon and it almost felt like it really wouldn't matter to them whether we bought it from them or not. I will never set foot in this place again and I will never recommend this place to anyone. Again, not that it matters as I'm sure they've garnered a pretty good following and client base in all of these years. But I just wanted to share my experience and looking at these other reviews, I must have come on a bad day. It's not as amazing as it looks or says in their fancy bio on their website. I also didn't think using the "Contact Us" option on their site to express my concerns from my experience with them given that it would probably be overlooked or because the concern is specific to them in general, which I'm sure will just receive an eye roll from them and nothing be done with the unfriendly environment in that building and on the phones. And one last thing, they also talk to people under an assumption that their customers that walk in or probably those they've never seen before may not be as knowledgeable with weapons so they've made mention of things to try to get you to buy what they already have in stock or just make mention of their preferences even though you already know what you want and have already selected what you want. But the thing that is mostly problematic is assuming someone's level of knowledge about weapons so they make mention of things that are entirely not true. read more

I have had much better Gun Transfer help than this and I've went to several dealers and have to honestly admit that not only did they have the highest FFL fees that I've ever paid wish is usually $25 per gun down the street High Caliber charged me a whopping $40 per gun and these were not rifles . They offered me no help getting out of the door as I only have one good arm . I won't be back ! read more

Hands down the BEST "pawn" shop around. Might be small but the stock is large and the knowledgeable staff even bigger. I had lots of questions and they had lots of great answers. If it's not in stock or on the wall it will be ordered and in within a week. The prices are very competitive and often lower than those around. Lifetime warranties on guns is a glorious thing! Best shop around for knowledge, price, and overall satisfaction. I've done business with them several times and keep coming back. They stock what they know works, back everything they sell, and treat you like a person every time you walk in. If you want something they don't have, they can get it for a great price and can give you insight on the characteristics of it if you are testing the waters. I've been to a few other places within 10 miles that tend to look down their nose at you or treat you like a number instead of a customer, but you'll never get that here. Prices are not overpriced as someone else on here suggested, and the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. The inventory is really great for the size of the shop, and if they do not have it in stock, they will get it for you really quick. If you are looking for a specialty item like silencers, this is definitely the place for you. They will help you fill out the paperwork properly and make sure it gets sent off in a timely manner.
