Hidden Palms Ranch was truly an amazing experience. I had to change the date of our ride, and the person who helped me over the phone was incredibly kind and accommodating. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely cared for and were guided through important equestrian etiquette, which made everything feel safe and welcoming. The ranch itself is simple and beautiful, letting the landscape speak for itself. The staff was wonderful in helping us get comfortable with our horses. who were so gentle and sweet. Riding at golden hour was magical; the light over the reservation was breathtaking, and our guide shared thoughtful insights about the area along the way. I truly did love my experience here but just a few things to note. We went towards the end of the wild flowers growing. We went 10/15, there were some wild flowers still there but a lot were already gone. The week before we went, there was a lot of rain so about half of the trail was flooded out. We trekked the water and the water splashed everywhere. So definitely don't wear clothes you don't want to get potentially muddy!! I also didn't think anything of it, but there were lots of mosquitos so we did get bite a lot! The ladies who were hosting our ride were both nice! Took pictures of us when they could and helped us navigate our horses. All the horses were very nice and mine had me laughing a good majority of the time because he was best friends with another horse so he wanted to be right next his friend the entire time. Which I actually enjoyed this because I had to pay attention a little more and actually guide him on what to do/not to do. If you want to see the flowers, make sure they're in season. read more

I went here on Sunday for my birthday. I bought the tickets ahead of time on the website. We arrived 10-15 minutes ahead of our time for check in. There was a port-a-potty restroom available before the trail ride. We were assigned horses for the trail ride. There was a slight hiccup with my horse Willow who lunged suddenly at another horse my friend was on. Willow just had a sassy moment. I was then moved to the horse River instead. It was not a big deal though. The owners said they can't guarantee the horse behavior 100% since they are animals. There is also horse dynamics and behavior within the horse herd. The horses are well trained though and do the trail rides daily. We then went on the trail ride. The scenery was beautiful and it was a serene trail ride. I would recommend this place. We got some great photos and enjoyed our time. read more

This was truly a beautiful experience. It even rained during our ride and I still had the greatest time. Our guide was super knowledgeable and a great conversationalist. I learned so much about Florida and the surrounding areas that we rode through. The scenery alone I could have rode out there for hours! I don't have any pics of the sights we saw cause it wasn't really safe to record or take pictures while riding however. Our guide capture so many beautiful photos in the Rain and all. I truly love the organization the trail, the hospitality. Everything. I would definitely come back. Maybe I'll even request to walk slower next time. DISLIKE The only thing I didn't like is the fact that the horses we ride don't get alone which means I had to be so far apart from my party or else they would bite and kick and we couldn't get any super close pictures together. Very well organized set-up. Horses were great on the trail. Huge conservation are on Lake Jessup. Guides were super friendly and not bossy. They took photos when they were able and airdropped them to us as we were checking out. The horses were all beautiful and healthy, and they gave us each a treat to feed our horse when we returned from the ride. Definitely will be visiting again. Love that they take no more than 5 guests per trail ride. read more

This is a hidden gem in the Sanford, FL area. Locating the venue was easy and adequately explained in the email received once I registered & paid my deposit. Our tour guide was sweet and very personable. She struck conversation during the entire ride and seemed genuinely intrigued in getting to know our group but also in educating us about the Reserve/Trail. The ride was a walking pace, those with more horseback riding experience or interested in a faster pace, just be aware. I believe this is a great riding experience for new riders and groups. We were instructed on how to handle our horse properly prior to the start of our session and specific information about our horse as well as the order the horses liked to walk in and why that was important. Overall, this is a beautiful venue. I look forward to visiting during different times of the year. I would also advise going earlier during the summer months. The trail does have shaded areas but the Florida sun can be brutal so plan accordingly! read more

This was an amazing trail ride! Beki was very knowledgeable on all her horses and trails. Very peaceful and relaxing. She takes you through a Forrest of oak trees and ends up at Lake Jesus Conversation area. In the fall time she can take you thru a field of wild sunflowers which makes it perfect for beautiful pictures. At the end of your trail ride she gives you treats that you can give your horse and take some pictures if you'd like. She does sunrise and sunset rides. There is much (brown) beauty in Vanity. I learned that today on my first (definitely not my last) visit to Hidden Palms Ranch in Sanford. I just decided it was time to get back on a horse, and not a proverbial one but a real one. Oh, it was just the best decision! It was very easy to schedule my ride via the website - I would end up in a group of four. I received not one but two email reminders - very considerate. The Ranch is easy to find and there is nothing like pulling and seeing a bunch of horses waiting for you. I immediately took to Vanity...I felt we connected on that peaceful vibe (lol). Absolutely the best investment I've made in an activity where I could do something fun AND kept within social distancing guidelines. This was by far the best experience I've had riding a horse, I enjoyed every moment and didn't want it to come to an end!!! I surprised my girlfriend for her birthday today March 26th. It was originally a group ride but we were the only couple to book for the 8:30 am trail ride. The horses were all well kept and very well behaved! My horse was Toby and my girl rode Sawyer. The owner was extremely friendly and out going, she was just a sweet lady and she led us through Lake Jesup conservation area which was just gorgeous and peaceful. We definitely will be booking again for late September, early October when the Sunflower field is in full bloom!! Best Horse-Riding Experience Ever! If you are looking for an amazing time, this is the place to go. This ranch is located right next to the Lake Jesup Conservation Area, which is a 6,220-acre protected area. The ride took us right through this rural, but very beautiful property filled with large oak trees, wildflowers and native Florida plants. During our ride we saw eagles, ospreys, great blue herons, ibis and even several baby wild boars. The horses were so friendly and did not just follow blindly the horse in front of them, like several places I have been too in the past. I booked this trip with my two best friends, who are in their 80's. The staff were very accommodating to my friends, assisting them when needed. They took several pictures throughout the trip and even had us pose together for a group shot. The whole experience was wonderful and I'm looking forward to my next trip. read more

My boyfriend surprised me with horseback riding for my birthday. We came here & at first glance i thought we were lost because the GPS brought us to a house. He got out & there was a lady brushing some horses so he asked her & she advised us we were definitely in the right place. We got out & walked over & we waited for the rest of the people in our group ( they only book 4 people per session) while we waited we got familiar with the horses . MeriGold, Toby, Jet , Moose & Gunner .. the home is in Sanford located near lake Jesup ( popular for alligators ) her neighbor was ( Larry the cable guy, his brother lived there now ) once we were given instructions we began our trail, which is about an hour and a half, the trail was so beautiful , peaceful & relaxing . The trail is popular for wild animals ( we saw none thank goodness) & also hiking ( the trees are marked with colors for that). I rode MeriGold she was the only girl ( she was feisty with the boy horses) .. the owner had 2 new girl horses they had gotten the day before they were going to test them out the next week ( Vanity & Beauty). I was a bit nervous at first because i was thinking maybe this horse may not like me or may think I'm too heavy and act weird but she was great . None of them really like to lead so at times once they realize they are ahead they will slow down. Overall the experience was amazing . The instructor stops & takes pictures along the trail & emails or texts them to you at the end. You can take your own photos but i chose to leave my phone in the car ( she said ppl have lost phones & keys before ). The lady & her daughter who was in our group had rode horses & owned them before so they were pros. I enjoyed meeting them & hopefully we can ride again sometimes. ( jet is an ex race horse & the one with allot of energy & personality ) . Once we were done she takes the remaining pmt ( so I'm guessing he put a deposit down to secure our spots ). read more

We had the most incredible time today at Hidden Palms Ranch! The ranch is in a beautiful secluded area in Sanford, near Lake Jesup, which was easy to access off of the 417. We felt at home immediately upon arrival. Becky welcomed us with open arms for a group trail ride experience. She introduced us to her beautiful family of horses, geese, ducks, pups and bunnies! All of the horses were very friendly and extremely well-trained for us beginner riders. We went on a breathtaking morning trail ride that was an hour long. Each of us were left very impressed with Becky's knowledge of horses and her openness to share her passion with us. We cannot wait to get out there and ride again! I know there aren't a lot of reviews here, but there's a ton on Google. Honestly, this place was AMAZING. They really do care about their horses and the staff was amazing. I did a private tour and the nature scenery was great. Kaylee said mid September and early October their would be sunflowers. The horses loved stopping to grab a quick snack. They were all super cute and super friendly. I cannot thank them enough for the wonderful experience. Will highly recommend going there, and I will be coming back. Loved every minute of the ride. If get chance for a ride, this place is where you wAnt to go.. was looking for place cause hadn't ridden in awhile and ended up picking this place, from where I was it was about an hour away, but very easy to get to . It's about 25-30 min on 417 just off 528 . Family place and only have about 6-7 horses. But these horses are the most affectionate and healthy horses Iv ever ridden for trail ride. The owner Becky is an absolute doll and so friendly. The ride was amazing, and relaxing . Scenery was beautiful. I would definitely tell people come here it's nice to have a smaller amount you can ride with or alone , makes ride so much more enjoyable.
