"Come with me and you'll be in a world of pure imagination" would best describe this 175 acre…read morenature preserve/botanical garden. Dedicated to the education of individuals seeking to learn more about our environment & the plants in it; this is the perfect place for any butterfly lover!!! There are over 5 different types of gardens(ranging from butterflies to sensory, a 2 acre playground, 4 nature trails, picnic areas & a variety of programs & events for all ages. Although you have to pay a small fee( general admission fees change throughout the season) in order to explore the trails & some exhibits- keep in mind that this is a non-profit organization & does not receive any tax dollars. So the current $6.00 fee is more than affordable and goes to such an amazing cause. My friend & I were only able to view part of the property but the butterfly house & caterpillar nursery had me planning my next visit before we even finished our tour. If you love butterflies & moths; you'll more than get your fill of these extraordinary creatures, all the colorful flowers they need to survive & a fantastic interactive childrens room. On my way to the greenhouses, I passed an adorable turtle garden with live painted turtles. There are also so many teeny tiny awesome faerie gardens and anything you might need to create one. I would not recommend this place if you're children are under 5 because you CAN'T allow them to run through the butterfly gardens due to the possibility of damaging the plants or hurting the insects. The space is also too narrow for a stroller. Yet if you're little ones can look but not touch I'd strongly recommend a visit !

The grounds are beautiful, rustic with beautiful landscaping and flowers when weather permits. Kids love the greenhouse area where they can discover exotic (and regular) plants, dig for root vegetables, play with the train etc. The butterfly area is amazing in the summer when it's full of different butterflies, kids love catching them on the sugar water sticks. The play areas are really impressive- the treehouse area, kiddie zip line, obstacle course, enormous slide, stage with costumes etc, and don't forget about the mud kitchen. Don't wear nice clothes. Bottom line, it's super nice, super fun, and kids of all ages will enjoy it.

My only complaint was the margarita flatbread; crust not done, not enough of the tomatoes or basil either. We ordered chicken on it and while we appreciated the amount of chicken, they were in huge chunks on top of the cheese, so they kept falling off. It would be better to put the chicken under the cheese. And last but certainly not least, where was the balsamic drizzle most margarita pizzas have?? This flat bread was truly a disappointment and I wouldn't order it again. As I said, we love the wine and ambiance. As far as the service, we had no problem with the wait. It was a busy Saturday afternoon.

Umbrellas are a bit unstable. While there one almost flew in to the lake. But we are here for wine. Walk in and you can smell the food. I did not have any food so I cannot comment. Smelled good though. People seemed to enjoy. They had a special on sangria so we went with that. They said it was a pint glass. But it's not a pint. I have had a pint many times and this was just a solo cup that is less than a pint. Not the red solo but clear with lid. Sangria was ok. Fruit was a slice of orange. A bit dry for me. Not horrible but not to my liking. They have a handful of other wines. You can try and taste just ask. The issue was really the employees. I thought they were abrupt and kinda rude. I am here to spend money and it seemed like my questions annoyed them. Never been here so I wanted to know what everything was about. Maybe I went on an off day. There were quite a few people there trying to enjoy the day. Overall i might pass next time. Good view. But so-so on the experience.

A late September wedding and it was really chilly on the water, but the views are quite lovely. The holiday event was really nice and drew a large crowd. We didn't wait to see Santa, but we did enjoy some cookies and punch and we also got to spend time with the sweet animals there for the nativity. There were some school choir performances that we heard a little bit of. I will say that both times I've been here, the bathrooms were either closed off or very hard to find. Where are they? Does anyone know? No one had an answer either time I was there. So as long as you don't have to go potty, it is a great event venue. They also had a couple food trucks there during the recent event and the chili was really good. They had some interesting baked potato options too. My son and I enjoyed visiting the Tudor House and I thought the December event was well orchestrated.

Not being very familiar with the Portage Lakes area, I had no idea what to expect. It's tucked away in a residential area, so not some places you would stumble across unless you knew it was there. I thought my GPS was leading me astray as I pulled up to the cul-de-sac out front, before seeing the signs. It was an outdoor event so I didn't get the full experience of touring the inside of the house, but I can't say enough good things about the yard, the views, the setup, the food. The house/mansion backs up to the lake and the view is spectacular. There's ample parking but the overflow lot is a bit of a walk. My only criticism would be that the drive leading up to the house is very dark and narrow so it could use more lighting for night time events. This is an awesome place for an outdoor wedding if you're willing to chance the weather in northeast Ohio!

Parking was plentiful, and the check-in process was quick and efficient. After a photo opportunity at the entrance, we were free to explore the museum at our own pace. As someone who isn't a huge football fan, I was mostly tagging along for my husband, who was excited to visit. While there were plenty of exhibits, we were surprised that some notable players we expected to see had very little presence. My husband enjoyed the experience overall but felt there could have been more to see. One thing that stood out was the lack of seating throughout the museum. If you're planning to spend a few hours walking through the exhibits, be prepared to stay on your feet. We spent about two hours exploring and found the two theater presentations to be the highlight of the visit. The films were engaging and, for me, the most memorable part of the experience. The photo packages offered at the entrance were quite expensive, with the cheapest option starting around $38 for digital downloads only. The gift shop was also on the pricey side. In the end, we purchased the digital photos and a few small souvenirs. Overall, it's a worthwhile stop for football fans, especially if you can take advantage of a combo ticket. While my husband was glad he finally got to visit, we both felt the experience was a bit shorter and less extensive than we expected.
