I took my 6 month old female kitten to North broad animal clinic on March the 4th 2026. They spayed…read moreher and her incision looked okay at first. 9 days after her surgery her top layer of sutures were removed because she had a knot underneath her incision. I told them I thought it was a hernia they checked her out and said keep an eye on it that it was just a little hard not after the surgery. It seems to bulge more when she is tight or when she moves. I've taken my animals here for many years but have never let them do surgery on any of them until now. I wish That I had not done that and I will never take animals for surgery to North broad animal clinic. But they're close by so I might take my animals for other smaller procedures like shots and checkups.

You can hear everything between the two rooms as there are no doors. When asked by myself to please wash his hands, he lied and said he had already done that, but walked over to the sink and ran the water for 5 seconds before walking right back in with hands not even wet, so he didn't even do that. That isn't even what I'm most livid about today. During this visit, my dog was weighed and came in at 44 pounds. She was given her new prescription for Simparica Trio, and was sent home with the incorrect dosage... a dosage for TWICE the size of my dog- 88 to 132 pounds. Having noticed that after giving the pill to my dog while cutting out the open pocket of packaging, my heart immediately sank. I ChatGPTed what to do , and also called my vet friend who lives out of town. She said to get her to the ER within 2 hours to have her throw it up. I tried calling the office and their emergency extension and left voicemails, and no one ever called me back, not even the next day to apologize and see how she was. When I emailed them the bill and proof of incorrect dosage, I was responded to the next day with a belittling message and a note saying they would have to seek legal council. All I asked for was a reimbursement of the medication and the trip. They said they could swap out the medication and reimburse the difference if I sent them the bills. But I just moved out of town and don't even live there anymore to do that, but who would want to ever go back there after this?? After all this, they didn't even bother to look at the fact that I already sent them all the information for reimbursement.

On August 26 we had to take our 14 year old little boy Ben to be put down. He had had an apparent stroke. (My words not theirs). Dr Martin took time with us. Never rushing. Always asking. Are you sure. Vet Tech Victoria was so caring and gentle as we processed what was best for Ben. Days since then have been different and our other dog is having some difficulties adjusting. But we will get him through this. I know some reviews on here have had some difficulties with the front office staff. But when it comes to the care and comfort of the patient. I recently moved to Georgia late last year and this is the clinic closest to where I live now, and…read moreonly went here because it's the one that my in-laws take their cats to. Also worth noting: I previously worked in an animal clinic prior to my move, and needed records for my partner's cat sent up to our clinic from them. Our medical manager and receptionist called and even emailed Pet Vet more than once - and they never received his records. I had to get old printed copies from my partners parents just to make sure the cat wasn't getting vaccines it already had and wasn't due for boosters for. So I was already a bit skeptical of their professionalism, just from this alone. I have two cats that I will no longer be taking here. They got their shots for the year done, no issue there, I needed some concerns addressed and for the most part that went fine. However: with my younger cat that was to-be-neutered: at his first exam with them, they needed to get him to stop purring so they could get his heart rate. There are plenty of ways to do this, either by putting some rubbing alcohol on a swab so they cringe at the smell and cease purring, or running water in the same room as them. For whatever reason though, the techs that were trying to do this with him instead opted to completely plug his nose and prevent him from breathing??? I wanted to interject and tell them not to do that but didn't want to come off like I was telling them how to do their job, but my cat wasn't obviously distressed and squirming away from them, and then they just kept restraining him even harder. It was absolutely unnessecary and left a very bad taste in my mouth from that point on. I will be looking at other animal hospitals for future care. Hopefully the techs don't still do this to get cats to stop purring and hopefully they are a little more responsive to people that need documents sent across clinics.

I was notified that after they contacted my vet, I was not eligible to adopt because I was not current on vaccinations such as parvo, bordetella, kennel cough, heartworm test and medication. Why do you have to have the bordetella and kennel cough is the pet is not EVER BOARDED? The only vaccination that is STATE MANDATED is the Rabies. The rest of these are a money maker for the vets. None of this was a problem back in 2018. What changed? and do they have the right to contact my vet and get information without my permission? Is this legal? i am a good person, love all fur babies. Have had many dogs that have lived 18 to 20 years. Not even an interview. I know a way around all of this. We'll see if it works. Way to much RED TAPE TO ADOPT TODAY.
