This is the quintessential college food spot. While that is neither a good or bad thing in general it does mean a couple of things. - food is cheap and the quality does not matter. What I ate was edible but far from anything considered quality. - service was not bad but staff are a bit disinterested in anything but their immediate job requirements. - cleanliness is lacking. You can get a cheap meal here that has a lot of calories. Staff do their job. You may want to do take out rather than sit at a dirty table. My son, Oliver, is a hibachi professional. He got the jumbo shrimp (not as jumbo as expected, but ya know... shrinkage) with fried rice, zucchini and onion. He THOROUGHLY enjoyed it. I grabbed a quick lunch from here and it went pretty well. It was a blind stop so I didn't know what to expect. I ordered spring rolls, seaweed salad, miso soup, and a spicy salmon roll. After a few minutes of waiting, they let me know that the seaweed salad was not available so they asked me if I wanted to swap it with another choice of sushi, on the house. I asked for a recommendation and they told me to choose a dragon roll, and I'm glad I listened it was good! The location could use some renovation since it appeared a bit outdated. I ordered sushi from here tonight cause it was way cheaper than other places and I was on a budget. Their Philly roll comes with a few different things than I am used to (especially carrots). The tuna roll was huge and the shrimp tempura roll was pretty good. I didn't like the fact that is wasn't served with any soy sauce or chopsticks. My wife and I stopped here for lunch and were pleasantly surprised at the high quality of the food. Don't discount them because the business is located in a strip plaza, they have a nice variety menu and they do a great job preparing what they offer. We tried the Spring rolls and they came with a nice ginger sauce. We shared a scallop dinner that came with fried rice, broccoli, slices of onions and zucchini. Very tasty! Sorry I didn't think to check reviews before going, I'm not the first to do this. First thing I noticed the front door was very dirty, not just a little dirty, it was gross. Inside was no better. There's some kind of screen up between the kitchen and the dining room and it looked like the front door. I tried to ignore it all hoping for good food. But it wasn't that good. I don't think the filets are filets. They were cut into the teeniest bite sized pieces, I'm thinking to disguise that. And then of course it was way over cooked, not even close to medium rare. The chicken very dry. The jumbo shrimp weren't bad, surprisingly. And the rice not awful and that's the best I can say about their fried rice. I'll never go there again. I don't see how an owner or a manager can not know how bad that place is. I'm not even three bites into my meal and i felt compelled to write this review. I grew up in Wilmington and for four years i lived on college road before moving out of state. I'm in town visiting and went to hibachi cause i remember how much i use to LOVE IT!! Not anymore. I noticed as i was leaving my tray felt crazy light but i shrugged it off, is there like a rationing problem in Wilmington? I open the tray to what looked like a half eaten meal. And on top of that they seemed to have switch suppliers or something cause the shrimp in my chicken and shrimp tray resemble more of sea monkeys. They are super tinny tinny shrimp....isn't Wilmington known for seafood? I'd expect this in like the middle of Ohio but not in a town filled with fishermen and seafood restaurants. If i didn't walk all the way to my hotel with it I'd ask for a refund but i don't have the time or energy. Like get it together hibachi!! I can't believe this place doesn't have all 5 star reviews... my friend and I ate here a few years ago and loved it so much we regularly eat here at least a couple times a month. The food is amazing, it always hits the spot. The workers are professional but also nice and friendly. The tables and everything is kept clean even when they're busy. There may be a delay when they're super busy but it's worth the wait and it's hibachi so obviously it's not gonna be fast food speed... people love complaining about that and to that all I'm gonna say is: leave... you can go cook at home if you're gonna be a party pooper lol. The restaurant is super cozy and spacious. There's booths and tables you can sit at and they have like four or five HUGE TV's so you have something to look over at instead of awkwardly looking around while eating lol. The booths are located by windows which you can look out from but people walking by can't see you... so love that! Basically, I have nothing but good things to say about this restaurant. One of my favorite spots in Wilmington forevaaa!!!!! Hibachi chicken bowl with broccoli and fried rice is my go to incase you wanna try it :) and load up on their delicious white sauce! So I cannot speak for the takeout service, but the dine in portions are HUGE.. totally worth the price of the heaping plates. The boyfriend and I ordered hibachi steak with mushrooms and onions, and hibachi chicken with broccoli and onions. I was pretty impressed with the seasoning/quality compared to similar restaurants in Wilmington. These hibachi guys are the friendliest and tastiest we have tried in town. There are several negative reviews for this great place saying they don't include sauces... but they have a vast condiment bar directly next to the utensils and drink tower. It's basically self serve/grab & go. They've got plenty of little plastic containers with big ketchup-like pumps of white sauce and soy packets. Ginger sauce is my go to and theirs is dark, tangy, and sweet! The to-go containers were conveniently laid out on the counter, so cleaning up after ourselves on the way out was a breeze. They have a frequent flyer discount too. Give this place a try, but REMEMBER don't forget the sauces!!! read more

I've come here quite a few times since I lived in Wilmington. It has some very good prices and portion sizes. This past time I ordered the hibachi noodles with white meat teriyaki chicken. The food is good but not great. Staff for the most part is efficient and friendly! Even though the chicken is 'teriyaki' there isn't much teriyaki flavor to the dish at all. It's super bland tasting. However, the white sauce is amazing! That is the way I add flavor to the dishes. One suggestion I have is to experiment with the seasonings, or marinate the chicken to give it more flavor! read more

This place was confusing. It seemed to be pretty popular but I wasn't jazzed with the food or the place as a whole. It was a decent atmosphere, darker colors and nice lighting, but the bathroom was pretty horrid smelling and tiles were leaking throughout the restaurant. I got my food to go and it took about 15 minutes as expected. The gyoza I admit was a good choice, and as a special it was very cheap today. But the taste of my hibachi chicken was odd, a little soapy somehow... I think this place has potential to be really fantastic but there is certainly room for improvement! Food is average here. Last two trips in for pick up took 43 minutes and 35 minutes for two orders each time. Service extremely poor, as walk ins for sit down received orders long before us. Very underwhelming upon entry. It's hard not to notice the water damaged ceiling tile and the minimal level of attention given to cleanliness here. Service was ok. Also had a "B" sanitation score. I've had some spectacular food come from hole in the wall type places that weren't the paragon of cleanliness, so I was willing to look past it. This, however, was not one of those times. I ordered sweet and spicy chicken to go, with fried rice and vegetables (broccoli, onions, zucchini). The chicken breasts were dry and the flavor failed to deliver. The chicken was more spicy than anything, with hardly any sweetness to balance. I'd be surprised if any prep work or a marinade of any sort was used on the chicken. If not for the white sauce, which was good by the way, it would've been difficult to get the chicken down. The fried rice was ok, as well as the vegetables, which were cooked with slight crunch to them just how I like, but much like the chicken, lacked flavor. The onions could've been cooked a little longer, but maybe they knew my immune system was gonna need the extra boost to fight off whatever I might catch from their subpar cleanliness. I want to love this place, I really do. It's inconsistent though. I've been a few times. Overall the food is bland. I always get a steak hibachi bowl with mushrooms. The portion is heavy for $10ish. However, they need to season the meat. Everytime I've had it, no flavor. The rice is so so. I order the fried rice. Sometimes it lacks flavor, other times its way too salty. There's no happy medium here. No white sauce us included nor is soy sauce. Boggles my mind as to how those two items aren't automatically included. read more

When my boyfriend took me here for sushi I was a little put off. I love sushi but sushi bars in my mind are supposed to be a little fancy. Fancy is not the right word but, suffices to say I didn't expect a tiny bar tucked in back of a take -out counter. This place recieved no point for atmosphere. I'm fine with that usually. Foods overpriced for quality. Shrimp sauce is good, but can be gotten anywhere. Staff is generally apathetic. It really feels like the place is run by a bunch of apathetic college drop ours and their frat boy boss. Also, there are weird times when the whole places smells of homophobia and fox news, not sure why. The shrimp bowl is pretty good, but the cashiers are usually rude. Came in today to try out as I was here for a conference and had the best experience- ordered the hibachi chicken bowl with an additional order of the California roll- was pleasantly surprised as the quality tasted very similar to Hiros- all staff was extremely friendly, Sarah was very helpful at picking selections and coming to check in between dining to see if we needed anything else.
