Hibachi Chicken, Steak & Shrimp with Veggies
    Esmee J.

I am SO DISAPPOINTED! I moved away from Wilson a while ago but still visit family every now and then. The last time I was there for holidays, I decided to grab take out lunch while in a hurry. I ordered chicken, steak, and white rice only and my husband got chicken, steak, shrimp, vegetables and white rice. We didn't check the food before leaving (huge mistake) and when we got to my parents' house, I noticed they had put vegetables in my food. No problem, I simply took them out and put them on my husband's plate. As you can see in the pictures, I was left with only a couple pieces of meat after taking the veggies out! I had to go grab something else for lunch since it was too far away to go back. Is this the new normal here for about $40-$50 spent?? Not to mention the rude cashiers that aren't very welcoming.

Really great lunch here today! Food is fresh, tasty and well seasoned. They do a brisk take out business as well. Completely recommend. We were daunted by the bad reviews but went anyway. So glad we did!!

Great food and large portions. They give you enough food for 2 meals easy. I usually get hibachi chicken and/or vegetables with soba noodles. The white sauce is tasty. Self-serve in the restaurant, and the wait for your food is usually a little lengthy which is probably the only con. It's always really busy during dinner hours. Overall, a good choice for fast hibachi.

Decent, but I've had better. Considering I wanted Japanese and was by myself so didn't want the whole table and a show deal, this place worked. The food was good, but could have had more flavor. I also don't understand the "beer" liquid that keeps appearing in the bottom of my hibachi take out plates. The only liquid I want in this meal is my drinking water and some of that white sauce!

Not my favorite California Roll but its good.

Only 4 booths, but most business appears to be carry out. Owner tells us they do not use msg. Not sure how to confirm it. Tonight we ordered hibachi chicken, steak and shrimp combo. All hibachi and teriyaki are made with choice of protein then broccoli, onions, zucchini and mushrooms with fried or white rice. The noodles are made with carrots and cabbage. The ginger sauce for the seaweed salad was thin, watery and lacked ginger taste. But was tangy. The seaweed was placed atop iceberg lettuce with halved grape tomatoes and sliced cucumbers. Most places dont asd seweed to a tossed salad. Dumplings are steamed. Just ok. Crab Rangoon was crunchy, but filling was tepid. As if apps were made first, then sat while the hibachi was made. Hibachi was dry. No sauce/broth per se. Had to add yum yum sauce and soy sauce. The other Sauces were also thin and tangy, no distinct differences. One TV with a sports channel on. Clean, quiet environment. Could hear a fan but didn't feel as if AC was on. We had to leave, it was uncomfortable to eat in. We will try other options next time, but as carryout.

The place looks very modern inside with the video menu boards. Our order was ready in 10 mins like we were told. The steak was great quality and I like that it was smaller chopped pieces. The rice could have used a little more flavor but extra soy sauce helped. All in all I would definitely revisit!

If you don't want super sweet teriyaki sauce on literally everything, don't go here. Get scallops?…read more Have a squirt of teriyaki sauce. Just veggies, big ole wad of teriyaki sauce. Who puts teriyaki sauce on scallops and veggies. Order Hibachi chicken, bam, teriyaki chicken. Never have I been to a Hibachi place, and I have been to a ton, and seen so much teriyaki sauce used on literally everything. Again, who douses the veggies in teriyaki sauce. I've never had such bad food at a hibachi restaurant. I mean the cook could have asked if we wanted teriyaki sauce. Nothing we ordered was teriyaki. Service, young waiter, took our drink order, brought them out and the soup and salad. Had I not asked about dressings I would have got ginger, which I'm not a fan of. When all was done and the waiter asked us how everything was. We told him that everything was covered in teriyaki and we didn't order any teriyaki. Anyways, basically two full plates taken home, mainly because we paid for them, but never again. Seriously, who covers the veggies (zucchini, onions, mushrooms) in 100% teriyaki sauce. Overall everything was just teriyaki flavored and no where close to the other hibachi restaurants we go to.

She's learning and I can appreciate that. The place appeared to be clean and newly renovated. The exhaust fans and the grills were noticeably cleaner than what we are accustomed to. We were definitely grateful for that. The seating arrangements were closer than we are used to in DC/MD/VA. There were literally five people in our party (four adults and a toddler). There were also two other couples seated with us around one grill. We spent over $200.00 and the chef stole shrimp from us. (See video) Very disheartening that your employees have to steal food. We ordered the Samurai dinner, an additional order of scallops, two Mai Tai, children shrimp, chicken and fried rice, salmon and shrimp, vegetable sushi, steak hibachi, and whatever else is on the receipt. I usually make it my business to graciously tip the chef and graciously tip the server. I did not tip the chef anything because he took his own tip today. Not sure how they generally tip in Goldsboro NC but the waitress/server was super shocked by receiving a 25% gratuity. I've never had two strong Mai Tai for $9.00 each. That's absolutely unheard of in our neck of the woods. I expect for Wafu to contact me and make this right.
