We called Eddie Biddy on the recommendation of a neighbor. Eddie came out to look at our tree, and I had him look at two cedar stumps I needed gone. He called me the next day and discussed the price. He was very clear on how much each task would cost, with and without cleanup. Because of the tree location, his crew was going to have to carry the pieces by hand to their truck - NOT an easy task! I felt the price for the work was fair, and agreed to the contract. Eddie mailed me a copy of the estimate (which was very detailed - almost a full page written). His crew came out the following week and felled the tree. Due to how brittle the tree was and the danger that would pose if they tried to cut it incrementally, they had to bring it down all at once. With their equipment, it came down exactly where they wanted it to. They cleaned up everything perfectly. The stump grinders came the next day, and finished the job. Eddie himself is great to talk with. Very direct and willing to answer any questions we had. He kept me updated at every step. I'd highly recommend using him for any tree service.

Third job: (Last fall) paid for manual pulling/removal of Bermuda grass from garden beds, plus weed control and mulch. Emphasis on manual removal - explicitly was told they would pull all the Bermuda out manually to get all the roots out. Took a bit of chasing around to get them to actually get it on the books, and then when they did come they just buzzed everything with a string trimmed and sprayed weed killer over that. We agreed to still pay the full price on the condition that Gairy would send a team out in the spring once the Bermuda woke up and inevitably came through the mulch since it wasn't removed. He agreed, and we left it at that. Flash forward to this year and has completely ghosted us and been non-responsive. Even tried asking about having a bunch of other services added so that it wouldn't be a totally free trip, but still No luck. We finally gave up on any hope of getting the promised services, hired Mr. Outdoor Living, dropped like $4K on services with them instead and will be sticking with them next year when we do a sprinkler system and stone retaining walls.

What a joy it is to work with a company that actually does what they say they will do, when they say they will do it. Hi Tree removed multiple Bradford Pear trees for us, grinded the stump and left our yard clean. Their prices are great, and their workmanship is awesome. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with any company EVER! They have ripped me…read moreoff for $600 and refuse to communicate with me. I have lost sleep over my experience with them, and I hope that no one else has to deal with this terrible company again. The Story: A tree fell on my house on a Thursday evening, destroying gutters, the deck, blocking an entrance way, and damaging the roof. It was an emergency that needs to be taken care of as soon as possible. I immediately started calling tree service companies, and Ray Hensley called me back fairly quickly. He said he could get it taken care of on Friday (the next day), and he would head straight that way. After going to the house, he called back with an estimate of the work. They could get it done that day, but the only caveat was that I had to pay upfront. Given the emergency of the situation, and the timely manner in which they could get this issue taken care of, I agreed to it. Ray was so responsive before getting his money, but since I have paid him, he has been nearly impossible to get in touch with. He said that he couldn't do the job on the Friday because a boat in the driveway was blocking his way. He left his chipper there over night, saying that he would do the job on Saturday once we moved the boat out of the way. We moved the boat way out of the way, and on Saturday Ray came back and simply took his equipment without doing the work and left. He did not communicate with me at all! After that, he no longer accepted my calls, he did not let me know what was happening, nor did he or his company respond to my multiple daily voicemails, all of which were communicative and professional. It has now been 6 days since I paid them, and the tree is still on my house. I called back again three times today. They answered one call and then immediately hung up on me. Now I have to hire another company to take care of the tree removal, and I have to chase down a refund from Hensley's. They have wasted and continue to waste an incredible amount of my time and energy. In addition to posting this review I will be contacting the authorities as well as the BBB. I think along the way, there were so many opportunities for Hensley to handle the situation properly, and instead they made the situation much worse by acting unprofessionally, failing to communicate with me, and hanging up on me when I called. I feel that from the beginning, they had the intention of being paid without doing the work. I feel terrible for anyone that they have done this to in the past. This has been a horribly disappointing and aggravating experience, and I wouldn't wish this level of frustration or aggravation on anyone. For that reason, I highly recommend using a different company for your tree removal needs.
