Have you ever had a garage sale and nobody came? I have and it's not fun. I started using the classifieds from the High Desert Star and I never had this issue again. This weekend, a nonprofit I volunteer for is having a giant rummage sale. I knew we needed a classified ad to get the word out. After speaking with Micah at the Star about the rates and timelines, I wrote up my ad and sent it off. It bounced back as undeliverable but nobody at the nonprofit told me until an hour before the deadline. Uggh. As it turned out, when I began to write High Desert Star in the recipient part, it defaulted to "dessert" and not "desert." While High Dessert Star does sound inviting, that would not have helped our non-profit (which helps people in our community with mobility issues) get the word out about the rummage sale. Thanks so much to Micah at the High Desert Star. Some young people still have the patience with us old gals. Micah is one of them. Sorry about all the emotional voicemails. You rock.
Love,
