I really like shopping at Trends and Vespucci for gently used clothing so I was really happy to see…read morethat there was a store like these in my own neighbourhood. The place is in an apartment building which is strange but they seemed to have divided the area really well. Clothing is organised by color and size so it is really easy to browse clothing that you want or don't want. Today there was a discount on clothing depending on the color of the tag, so that in itself was fun. The clothing was surprisingly pretty fashion forward with a lot of designer names, some stuff was expensive and then some stuff was really affordable. The designs and taste of the store owner is great and I can tell she sifts through what comes in. There are many places to try on clothing and there is even a little place to sit and relax and view mags. The staff is extremely friendly and I will come back to this store when I have more time.

Urban Thrift is a great little store with a friendly, approachable proprietor. I am really…read moreimpressed by the layout of the space, which is attractive, thoughtfully arranged, and easy to navigate for shoppers. There is an awesome process in place for those who want to submit clothing for consignment and an easy, transparent way for people to see whether their consigned items have been purchased. I have felt intimidated when dropping clothing off at other thrift stores, but Urban Thrift is definitely a welcoming space! I was told that the store holds a variety of special events and promotions, all of which sound very interesting although I have not yet been able to attend any. Still - lots of cool ideas that demonstrate out-of-the-box thinking. I'm looking forward to becoming a regular at this clothing store.

I really like Kismet, even though I can tell that I'm a little younger than their target audience…read more But that doesn't cover the fact that Kismet has some very quality and very quirky clothing and accessories. This is the kind of place your stylish, arty, fashionable aunt would shop. The one who looks a little younger than she really is, who holds art exhibitions and skews a little eastern on the house decor. So they have tons of cool stuff, cut for more mature bodies and that veers to conservative with higher necklines and long sleeves. They've also got quite the collection of higher-end jeans. Anyways, as with all places like this, there is always something to find for us younger gals. Some of their pieces are ageless, timeless and always gorgeous. Their prices do run in the moderate to high range, but some of this stuff will last you for years!

I also find most of the pieces are a fun or funky take on classics. So even though they are different, they are not "fad/trend" items that you can only wear for 1 season. Another clothing gem located just outside of downtown!…read more Under the Bridge first came to my attention during a short but unfortunate period in my life when I felt that Emily Strange clothes were at the top of fashion. I was expecting to walk into a store like Blame Betty, all rockabilly and gothesque. What I instead encountered was a sort of haphazard collection of clothes in all sizes from a variety of designers. There remains to this day a small collection of Emily Strange clothes there, but it is so, so much more. The owner and also shopkeeper knows all about her clothes. She can help you find anything in your size in about 5 seconds flat. She is hilarious and charming and about as far from a goth as you can get. In terms of the clothes, she has collected a bit of everything from everywhere. The target seems to be women of all shapes and sizes from the ages of 20 - 50 which means there is a bit of everything for everyone. Some of the lines do run up to a 16, so curvy women searching for fashionable alternatives can find some great stuff here. And of course she's got some size 00 stuff for the tiny (lucky) ladies. There are lots of really unique and standout pieces you can buy here. My favourite purchase thus far are a killer pair of orange flats that people go crazy for. Comfortable + killer style + sweet owner + great location = let's not keep this a secret anymore guys. I recommend that all women visit - don't let Emily Strange keep you away.

Feels so much like a rummage sale. The hangers are those cheap plastic hangers that you get from the manufacturer and the design and style of the clothing look extremely dated. It is too bad, they have a nice location and great curb appeal but Under the Bridge needs to come out from under it.

I especially appreciated that when I asked if they had any cotton skirts, staff was able to immediately identify what matched my criteria. They were well versed in what was on the floor and able to pull a larger size from the back of an item I wanted to try. All well organized and tidy. Lots of super feminine looks, which is what I'm after. Absolutely worth a stop by for something not at every store. Prices were totally reasonable too. And not everything was polyester, which is so often the case these days.

I didn't know exactly what I had in mind so instead of ordering online going to a store with a good selection seemed like the right call - super glad I came here! I got a very cute fake leather jacket for over my dress and they have a ton of hair pin/clip options - and were very patient while I looked through them all :) In fact, the staff were the perfect level of attentiveness (i.e., left my mum and I to browse and chat until we had questions, and then were very helpful and made sure we were happy with our final choices). The only downside to the store is that it's super small, and therefore can feel a bit cramped when there are more than a couple of shoppers in it. So I'd recommend trying to go on a weekday morning if you can!
