I had a gift card for a facial and 2 upgrades. On my order form, I chose absolute quiet. This did not mean that the tech should not communicate to me that she wasn't going to do any add ons. Sure she was quiet and skilled but the place is not quiet- there are no doors- just curtains and the client in the room across from me was blabbing away and it was not relaxing. After the facial I inquired about my add ons (as I was interested in the light therapy and dermaplaning) and was told since I used tretnoin, I couldn't get them- this was never mentioned to me so I chose products instead- I wish I had known before as I would have stopped the tretenoin prior) Not sure I'll return, due to the noise and miscommunication but it was an ok experience read more

This is mainly for customer service and not the facial. I never got a facial here - before you roll your eyes completely - let me explain, lol. I normally go someplace else for facials, but I was curious about HeyDay. My first few impressions here was not the best, but I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt and leave some stars, since people seem to like them. Scheduled online which seemed seamless. I had some follow up questions later about my facial and tried calling and left messages. No one seems able to pick up the phone. Fair enough, you're busy, that's good and that's not my issue- but I got no response. As a first impression, this was slightly concerning because to make the appointment required a credit card - but after that any communication feels very difficult. Also, feels kind of like a bait-and-switch a little in terms of what if I needed to cancel? Would I be charged a fee because I tried to cancel and no one would answer or get back to me? What if I had an issue post facial? As you can see, the non responsiveness leaves a bad impression. Finally, due to sheer persistence, I was able to call and reach someone. At that point, I just wanted to cancel my appointment because I didn't want to take any chances and just scheduled at my regular place. read more

I'm not sure about this place. I think for a quick pick me up, if you just want some basic pampering- probably ok. But don't expect results. The good: i called and got an appt immediately, same day. Everyone was friendly- super chill vibe- and even chatting with people in the waiting area was cool. The meh: the facial really didn't do anything. My skin looks just the same as it did. Which never happens post-facial! Usually there's a glow for days, pores are smaller, etc. This seems like it was just someone else washing my face for me. Also a product was recommended to me that would immediately eradicate a breakout. Instead it made it far worse! Overall: For the cost, there are way better places alas. I have been getting Heyday facials for the last few months. My go-to location is usually the UES, but that location is experiencing issues with construction happening next door, so they offered to book me on the UWS (where I had been once before). My facials have always been pleasant and the therapists have all been nice, however Glori at UWS really provided an excellent experience for me today. Glori was friendly, personable and explained what she was doing in detail. She went above and beyond standard customer service, in my opinion. I felt so pampered and rested after my 50 min facial with Glori. I opted for a peel, that went perfectly fine and left me glowing. All the products used smelled great and felt great on my skin. Glori will be the reason I sign up for the Heyday membership, because I want to keep coming back and have her work her magic on my skin! I feel great and Glori is a gem. I went to try heyday for the first time on July 21st for a facial. At checkout the front desk told me that it would be cheaper to sign up for a monthly membership. I would pay $101 per month and each additional facial would be $75. She said my next charge would be August 1st. I asked why did it not go month to month by the date of signup and she just responded that's how they charge, at the first of every month but that I could cancel the membership at any time. I thought that was strange and expressed that to the front desk. They said the membership was still cheaper than me paying out of pocket for a single facial. So I agreed to sign up for the membership. Well, I tried to cancel next month's membership today on July 29 and they told me that they have a 30-day cancellation policy and that my next charge on Aug 1st would go through regardless. Wow! This was the first time I had ever heard of their 30-day cancellation policy. I called my credit card company who then told me that they could not block the upcoming charge but it would need to go into dispute. Customers beware! This is unethical business practice at Heyday. I had my first facial in 10 years at Heyday by Lindsay. I was nervous because my skin is very sensitive and I break out easily but I really enjoyed my time here. I did a 50 minute facial without any add ons. Pros: The location had a modern and warm feel to it which made me feel comfortable. Lindsay took care of me there and she was very friendly and personable. She talked just enough to have an inviting conversation but still gave time to relax and just lay there. I liked that she explained what she was doing and answered my questions, as silly as some of them were. The products that were used smelled really good. All except the mild chemical peel did not irritate my skin which was great. They used low frequency as a tool which I thought was really interesting. Cons: There weren't any cons except the chemical peel. Lindsay said I would feel a slight tingle but the word slight was an understatement. The price is a little more than what I'm used to spending in general but they did offer packages. Overall, I really liked my facial. I won't exaggerate and say my skin looked like a newborn's bottom however it did feel more moisturized than I usually am. I went to Heyday UWS for 6 months leading up to my wedding, and subscribed to the membership. I suffer from breakouts but going to Heyday once a month made all the difference. After my first visit, I had a lot of red marks etc from extractions. By month 3, I was straight up GLOWING. I loved that every facialist asked what my routine looked like, and even though I try my best to not fall prey to the upsell, I have ended up working in 2 Heyday recommended products into my daily regime and they both have kept my skin super, super happy. I cancelled my membership 2 months ago to tighten my budget post-wedding, however, I'm going to start going back because my skin just ain't the same without Heyday's touch. YES cancelling the membership is annoying- it takes 30 days for it to process or something. But I was told how it worked when I signed up, so I wasn't caught off guard. But then I came back for my next facial a month later and that's when I met Esme - the most incredible facialist I've ever met! This review is specifically for the facial experience I had with Sue Senyigit 4/14 afternoon. I have been a member of heyday for a year, and have visited three different locations - nomad, tribeca and UWS. All my previous visits were comfortable and effective, which is why I kept coming back. However, this 4/14 experience is terrible. Firstly, Sue came to get me late and called the wrong name. Oops, bad start. She also appeared quite indifferent and didn't show a smile during my whole visit. Next, her technique was not good at all. Her diagnosis of my skin is completely different from what I heard from other facialists. Moreover, her massage and extraction technique was so forceful that it actually hurt my skin. She also mistook my just-recovered-breakout as a whitehead and break it up once again... She also didn't do much during the 50-min period- she let a towel stay so long on my face that it turned from steamy hot to complete coldness. Finally, I asked for an oil sample, but she didn't close the cap of the sample properly so that it completely spilled. I left the facial feeling disappointed and unsatisfied. This was hands down the worst facial experience I've ever had in my life. My esthetician did the BARE minimum. She maybe squeezed my face twice and said "oh these on your nose are hard to get out" moved to my chin squeezed a few more times and was done. The extractions were literally 30 seconds. What about my cheeks, my forehead, anything? She didn't even steam my face just threw a hot towel on for two minutes. I could do better in my house. She didn't use any great products. There was no tingle, and no clean feeling. I was very very underwhelmed by the entire process. Not to mention it wasn't the advertised 50 minutes but rather 40. For $135 every minute counts. The rooms are just curtained off not actually shut so I could hear everyone else's incessant chatter the entire time. I get this is supposed to be a "maintenance spa" but the experience should still be relaxing and this was so far from it. She also sold me on an LED treatment. Extra $35. Lasted a minute. She said it was absolutely necessary for my skin. Turns out my friend in the next room got the exact same sales pitch. I wouldn't go back to Heyday if they paid me to have a facial. Horrible horrIble experience. My skin doesn't look or feel any different and I came out less relaxed than I went in. If I could find a corporate number I would call them and complain too.. read more

I had a great facial with Laura B at Heyday Upper West Side. I'm new to the city and still trying a few places to get facials regularly. I'd seen Heyday from a blog and thought that I should try it. First, the price is good for what I'm looking for. Second, I'm not going to pretend I don't like the millennial-chic decor and vibe. Third, the booking process through the website was a breeze. Fourth, the location is great for me. The facial itself was really good. I have a lot of extractions to be done and my esthetician Laura did a great job. The extractions hurt a normal amount (not too little that the gunk doesn't come out!). After the facial, she recommended I do the 75-minute one next time. She gave me a sample of the mask she used and also typed a summary email of what happened during the facial. That's a very nice touch. The ambiance was great and the space was extremely clean. I did the 50 minute / $95 facial. I've had 60+ facials throughout the years in different places including Ohio, LA and Korea. Although I loved the space, I can't say this was one of the better facials. The extractions weren't done super well. Although some of the blackheads on my nose shrunk, I was disappointed by the lack of thoroughness with the smaller blackheads on my forehead. In addition, I don't think the detentions used small needles and tried 2-4 times to extract each blackhead which made the process more painful. Instead of using a steamer to open pores, each time the esthetician pulled out a hot towel. I'm not sure how effective that was. In terms of masks, I think each package has a specific set of masks to use which is great but didn't quite meet my skin needs. The facial lasted closer to 42 minutes than 50 which was disappointing considering that the facial was quite short already. During extractions there was one particularly rough bump that my esthetician Eva spent a lot of time digging in and squeezing. That has left me with a huge scab on a part of my face where i didn't even see an issue prior to the facial. It will leave a brand new scar, something I already have concerns about. Very disappointed that this happened, i feel like i could've just went and popped my own pimples to save the money! I had my first facial ever with Cali S. and it was probably the best beauty/skincare experience I have ever had. She was so warm and welcoming, answered all my questions, and was thorough in explaining what she was doing. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is genuinely chill. They aren't playing windchimes, they're playing actually chill music for a warm, friendly vibe. The rooms are semi-private, which was very comforting to me. You could hear other noise, but it wasn't too loud, allowing for the perfect level of relaxation. When you get your facial, you get a blanket, a massage, and a full explanation of what she's doing, what she recommends, and how it benefits you. I didn't feel like she was trying to upsell me (something I hate), but she genuinely suggested enhancements or gave alternatives too. I could tell she was more invested in me understanding and setting up a sustainable regimen than trying to force a bunch of treatments on me. I booked a facial with Emani and I had a wonderful time. She's extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. I will be coming back for her to work on my skin! Every question I had about about my skin she had an answer. Her technique with the extractions was effective. I look glowy and can't wait to see bigger results in the next few days. I am writing this review after an unpleasant experience yesterday at Heyday. I purchased the facial membership in January and on the whole have been happy with the services. I almost always add an enhancement, and have purchased a number of products, but now am questioning whether this spot is right for me. I booked myself for an appointment yesterday and inadvertently recorded the time in my calendar as 4:15, when the appointment was actually for 4:10. When I arrived at 4:19, I thought I was four minutes late. My provider brusquely informed me that my service would be shortened because I was nine minutes late. I was confused, but figured out the mistake. It was an honest mistake on my end, and I understand the need to keep to a schedule, but a little politeness and understanding in place of the shortness and rudeness would have gone a long way, even if the outcome were the same. I am a steady and loyal customer who does not have a history of being late for my monthly services, and whose services are typically *extended* because I opt to pay for an extra treatment! I sat through an unpleasant service with the provider, who seemed especially pleased that the extractions were painful - "not so relaxing," she said. I did my best to be pleasant throughout but I was uncomfortable. I had expected better, and am wondering if this spot and this subscription is right for me. read more

I am a regular client elsewhere and wanted to try this out. I am blown away. My facialist, Joi, was friendly, helpful, relaxed, knowledgeable and incredibly gentle. She explained every single step of the process to me and made me feel cared for and pampered. With the Heyday model, there's very little room for an upsell: you know what you're there to get, and if you want to tack on a bonus enhancement, it's one price. You're there for a fixed amount of time, and you know what you're getting. That's a perk of this kind of service in this kind of place, and the price is completely fixed. I did choose an "enhancement" peel, which was an additional $35, and it was well worth it. My skin feels incredible afterward. Even without it, I'm sure I'd feel amazing. Extractions were thorough, done so gently that I think I fell asleep during them, and were done through a combination of an oil release cleansing and multiple hot towel steamings, which I think is far preferable to the "sit under a steam bath for 15 minutes while your facialist checks her cell phone and goes to the bathroom and you choke on the steam" approach. Every product used smelled delicious, not chemically or artifical, and a lot of fruit enzymes are used, which seems to me to be a much gentler approach. The place is brand new, gorgeous, and was totally empty first thing in the morning (8am) before I went to work. The amenities are lovely, too. The woman at reception made me feel totally welcome and not like the newbie that I was. The rooms are big enough, and comfortable. They're "semi-private," with walls that don't go up to the ceiling, but look: this is a space that invites you to come and try out a facial for half an hour, on a different model, and if you're looking for something that is a full on private spa experience where you're going to strip down and put on a robe, you should look elsewhere. I found this to be a great value, a far better facial than I receive at an independent facialist (who usually hurts me and leaves me with broken capilaries) and I look forward to becoming a regular client. read more

I went to Heyday for the first time today and had a very good experience. The therapist, Lindsay, was very professional and explained why she was using the products she did. It was a great facial and I was happy with the results.... HOWEVER, I was very taken aback at checkout when I was asked if I would like to provided the "recommended" gratuity. I asked what that was and the response was that it ranged between 28-32%. Frankly, the question is offensive.... everything else is done on an IPad so why can't this also be rather than asking the customer in front of other patrons. I appreciated having everything explained to me as the therapist went along. I was surprised that the extractions didn't hurt(that is a good thing!). I'm hoping she didn't spend much time extracting because there wasn't much there, not because she didn't do a thorough job. The products used are great but not pushed on you to buy! I love that! I was asked about my skin routine and what products I use. The therapist liked what I used and said I didn't need to change much. She only recommended a new exfoliant better suited for my skin type. I had been going to Heydey Noho for 2 years, and recently switched to the UWS location after moving uptown. Lindsay is amazing! I had gone to a different spa for a facial about a month ago and it was a disaster. My skin broke out super badly and my cheeks were inflamed. Since it was my first visit the woman at the front desk told me what to expect--they focus on educating you about your skin. I was skeptical, having received a hard sell at so many places before but kept an open mind. I didn't need to worry. My practitioner (if that's the right term) Yanelli was super friendly. I liked that she asked me if I wanted to talk about skin care or just chill. I asked for a little of both and she balanced my experience perfectly. The "spa" only offers facials, no relaxation room or real lounge area but it's perfect for someone (like myself) who's looking to get a good facial while their kiddos are in school. The space is clean, cool and accommodating. They offer cell phone charging during service. Provider (Esther) was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. She really focused on hydrating my skin. I loved that they offer products and advice but at no time was in being sold or pushed! I absolutely hate this when I go to a spa. Afterwards, the bathroom has products and space to freshen up. I went in for a 50 min facial just to try them out. i've gotten facials with extractions before but I did my research and knew they didn't use steam for extractions and extractions weren't exactly their forte so my expectations were very LOW. My esthetician was gentle and asked me questions about my routine and gave me recommendations and samples of products. I didn't feel pressured to buy anything. I did walk out with a glowing face but since for extractions they use a machine, a lot of my blackheads and white heads were still there. I would recommend this place for someone who wants to unwind, get helpful skin recommendations and walk out with glowing skin for an event but def not for extractions. read more

My experience during the facial itself was pretty good, aside from the fact that they try to sell you products the entire time you are there. It's not very relaxing to continuously be asked about products and told why you need them. My main issue is what happened after. The day after the appointment my skin broke out in hives of some sort. When they hadn't gone away in a day I emailed the technician who saw me to ask what I should do. She never responded so I called the office and the person who answered was like oh I can't help you but you should email your technician. I told her I did and she said she would have them get back to me. A week later and still no email or follow up from anyone. My skin not only got hives, it then broke out and was extremely dry. I have been going to HeyDey on the UWS for just over a year now. Everyone there is absolutely delightful, helpful, kind, cheery, and efficient. Whenever I walk in, I am greeted with a smile. All of the aestheticians I've seen have been knowledgable and amazing. I have been getting facials since I'm 15 years old (with some pauses in-between) and HeyDey has been one of my favorite places to go. It's clean and modern and most of the time, really quiet.
