Previous Experience: We hired DL Design Construction last…read moreyear to completely renovate the exterior of our home with James Hardie siding, including windows, light fixtures, and all new electrical with an all new panel. Dimitry and his team exceeded our expectations so much so that we rehired them to build us not one, but two storage sheds. But did they really build us the storage sheds we wanted? Why Rehire? We had one previous storage shed. You know the one that everyone has. The so called Tuff Shed, in reality wasn't so tuff. It was falling apart. It was seated on cinder blocks that weren't stable or sturdy. There were gaps in between the doors and we wanted something more secure and airtight from dust and critters. Especially the smell. You know what i'm talking about if you've had one. We also wanted something more purposeful, and something that would have longevity. So we shopped around looking at Tuff Sheds from Home Depot & Lowes, but quickly realized that they were similar to what we all ready had just with a bit more bandages. We knew within a very short period of time these sheds were going to fail miserably from their design and cheap building material. So we picked up the phone and called Dimitry at DL Design who we TRUST. The Build: After discussing our requests with Dimitry his team went to work. Heres a brief breakdown of the work they did: They tore down the old shed, poured two concrete pads including a walkway leading up to the shed (that we just love). They anchored the shed down to the strong concrete pad, which practically made it tornado proof. They built the frame with precision and excellent craftsmanship. Insulated it so i can store more temperature regulated items. They sheathed the frame with plywood on the exterior as well as the interior. Then wrapped it with a water barrier paper. They installed several windows to help control temperature and bring in natural lighting. They installed a sturdy door with lock and key, which helped secure it, as well as prevent dust and insects from entering in. Unlike the prefab ones that have gaps and fall apart due to water intrusion and warping from sunlight. They finished the inside & outside with the best siding material out on the market, the James Hardie fiber cement siding. They also painted it from inside and outside with high quality paint. And not to fail to mention they installed electrical with an interior ceiling light and 3 outlets. You thought I was done, but i'm not. They also installed 3 custom gutters to help direct water away from the structures. The Upside: With these two new "sheds" we can utilize this space for so many purposes such as a new office space or even a gym. We can store things in there that we could never store in any new prefab shed out there. Such as food as an extra pantry, clothing such a transferring winter wardrobe from summer wardrobe. Storing blankets, towels, bed sheets, and not worry about things smelling like it came out of a shed. We no longer need to worry about bugs or critters getting to our valuables or moving in underneath the crawlspace making a din, since the "shed" is sealed airtight from all around. Why Hire DL Design Construction? Why I love to hire DL Design Construction? Because Dimitry is a great contractor. He combines technical expertise with, honesty, effective communication, and strong organization to deliver on time and within budget. He provided me with all the details, he's transparent, he provides written estimates, he managed subcontractors effectively, he's keen on keeping the job site tidy. Their professionalism throughout the estimate process was appreciated. However, their pricing came in higher than other quotes we received, which is why we decided to go in a different direction. I can't speak to the quality of their work since we didn't hire them, but based on our interactions, they seem like a solid option if their pricing aligns with your budget. If you're getting multiple estimates, they're worth including in your comparison--just be prepared that they may be on the higher end.

Once I made the decision to go with 3 Generations, I started working with Jeremy who went the extra mile to meet me at my work to sign the paperwork and select the type of siding for the house. We signed the paperwork in the late Fall, which is a busy time for them but Jeremy was always up front with their estimated timing, which I really appreciated. Once the work started, the job was completed pretty quickly. Again, Jeremy and his crew were very communicative and kept me updated on the status of the work until it was done. They also fixed some plywood dry rot and installed new plywood as well as correcting some roof deck problems in addition to all of the siding replacement. I've included some pictures the old siding, which was cracked and loose as well some pictures of the new siding to show the improvement. From my experience, I would recommend 3 Generations Improvements for any siding or repair work you may need!

I wanted to reduce the noise as much as possible, I even considered getting triple pane windows. I requested a quote for both double and triple pane windows. Dave told me that he carries only Anlin but their double pane windows with a sound package and it's so good as triple pane windows. The quote I got was very detailed and included window specifications. It was very handy for a geek like me who wanted to verify and confirm all the details. In my recearch I found that Anlin sound package windows reduced noise by 29 decibles, comparing to 30 decibels for triple pane Pella, which confirmed Dave's statement. I had some limited availabilities due to my schedule and Dave was good at meeting me half way to find a working times for the installation. On the day of the install the team worked calmly, steadily, with great attention to the detail. It's been three months so far, but I've really enjoyed the noises reduction, temperature stability, and the high definition views these new windows provide.

My first instinct was to call Blomberg since they were the original makers of this glass sliding door but Blomberg was closed so I called Dick's. Thankfully, Jay answered - he knew exactly what type of door I had and graciously got me an appointment for Wednesday afternoon which was only 2 days after the incident. All I had to do was measure the sides and he said they could replace it the same day. I couldn't believe it, I thought I'd have to live with this broken glass for much longer. He was kind enough to suggest setting a drop cloth to collect the glass incase it fell to the ground and caused a big mess so I did that the same evening.On Wednesday, Nathan (Nate) gave me a courtesy call before showing up on time and was very friendly and professional. He was ready to install the glass and realized that the border didn't match my current colors which was more of a dark brown instead of the chrome one they had in stock. I really appreciated the disclaimer because even though it was as a minor detail, it would have definitely been noticeable especially since the other side didn't match. They didn't know what color mine was because it was somewhat of an urgent request so everything was done over the phone. Nate said it would take about 1-2 weeks to get a custom order and they could come out and install it same-day. I opted to wait and he gave me the ETA as soon as got back in his van. I was worried about my glass falling and Nate offered to break it down for me and clean it up. I got to watch the whole process and it was very fascinating. Thank you for cleaning that up for me Nate!Nate called me this morning and arrived with a very nice gentleman by the name of Ivan. They arrived at 9:25 AM and were done the job by 10 AM. They cleaned all the nasty gunk and dirt that built up over the many years of the sliding door collecting and and were both so nice and fun to chat with. I can't tell you how much this stressed me out but I couldn't have asked for a faster and more professional glass replacement experience. It worked perfectly. A few days later it failed again, and they quickly came out to fix it. One thing led to another, and they ended up cutting/grinding 1/8th inch from the aluminum sliders at the doors bottom (the sliders that protect the rollers). It's like a new door now, and they didn't charge extra for the enhancements they made. These are good folks!

I recently helped my sister remodel her kitchen. Replacing existing countertops, fixtures and sinks in her kitchen and a bath. Since she's not experienced in remodeling I ended up doing most of all communications with HEX. I did interview and got quotes from other companies as well. They stood out in their promptness in everything they promised from beginning to the end with reasonable price. They were super efficient, very friendly and helpful. Everyonew in their office is fantastic! They are a company I can reply on and trust in their words unlike many others there that can barely get back to you with a quote lol. All their process was simple, on time and perfect as well as excellent communication. All the workers were super respectful and did an excellent job including the tile person who came out to do the tiles on the wall. What a fantastic company!! They eventually put crappy tabs on (not the kind that you can put your finger through while installing the screen). The screen was wrapped in plastic so tightly that it was bent and they shrugged it off when he mentioned it. The other screen was not even the right size, with one end slightly wider than the other. I had to use a mallet to force it into the window. I am going to get all my screens replaced but definitely not with these people.

We had an issue with a defect in the original float layer of the tile which caused the tiniest of cracks to slowly appear in the tile. Since the issue was within the two-year warranty period, Joel replaced the ENTIRE shower, free of charge. We were absolutely blown away by his commitment. He really went out of his way to thoroughly research the issue, explain the issue in layman's terms to us, and communicated along the way of how we were going to fix it. You will have so much peace of mind knowing that Joel stands by his work and lives up to his word and will correct any errors. We will 1000% be returning to Joel the next time we have a remodel project to tackle.

Details: We bought a home in December 2020 and knew there would need to be some remodeling to get it to be the space we wanted. Joel came out to give us a quote before we had even closed on the home, and he was one of our favorite contractors from the start. He followed up with us while we decided which pieces would be our priority, and called to check-in while we decided on contractors. This follow-up was a big reason that we went with Joel and his team. A lot of contractors we met with were rude, didn't care about the job, and overall didn't seem to be client focused. He was one of the lower priced quotes, which of course helped as well. His team was fantastic once the job started. I appreciated that they wore masks when they were in the home, and communication was great throughout the process. There were some headaches involving plumbing once we opened up the ceiling, but that was due to us adding to the scope last minute more than anything else. I've already recommended them to friends, and we will continue to work with them on future projects.

He was very professional and reliable not to mention very fast. All the other contractors said it would be 3 weeks or more and Dale and his A Team got it done in less than 2 weeks! We got texts and emails letting us know when the various jobs were scheduled and then a text when the professional was on their way. Excellent communication. The best part is that the wall and door look 100% like they were built when we got the house, down to the texture of the wall and the color of the paint. It doesn't look like we got it a few years later at all. Very happy with Dale and will absolutely reach out again for any future projects.
