While my Myomectomy surgery went well, the scars that Dr. Gor left are awful. It looks like I was stabbed multiple times in the abdomen by a butcher. AWFUL!! I went to her because she was willing to perform an otherwise bloody surgery using no blood products. My opinion: Do not use this Dr. There are others who have done a comparable job without inflicting such horrible scars bc of lack of skill/ and/or time that it takes to put in clean and neat sutures. There is no excuse for that as it is the part of the surgery that is the least stressful. (I know, I work in an Operating Room) She did what I would call a sloppy job, on something that could really make a difference in the life of her patient. No excuse for that! While this is relatively small in comparison to the actual surgery, she had the wherewithal to prevent disfiguring scars by taking a little extra time and/ or delegating the task to one of the many other doctors who billed me for her surgery. Terrible practice and office. Doctor Gor is always tired, busy and rushed. Appointment are always a LONG wait every time. For my csection she stitched me up so poorly, I had a huge ugly scar that welted up for two years. It never went away but luckily for my second csection I went to a different office and doctor and they were able to correct what Dr.Gor had left. She was also an hour and half late for my scheduled c-section. She's out to bill anything she can to your insurance. I would NOT RECOMMEND this doctor. BEWARE. read more

I changed OB/Gyns almost six years ago when I needed a doctor to diagnose and treat something my previous doctor was unable to, and finding Dr. Gor changed my life. Not only did she help me through that extremely difficult time, she has been patient, understanding, knowledgable and kind to me ever since. She has a practice all her own so on occasion (few and far between - she has babies to deliver), I've had to wait to see her but she is well worth the wait. read more

First time, sat in the room naked in a robe for 45 min before she came in with no explanation for the wait. Second time, sat there for 1 1/2 hours after my 10am appt time and she wasn't even at the office yet. Was only told at 11 that she was "on her way" after I'd been sitting there naked in the robe for 45 min. Severe lack of communication. All I'm asking for is a heads-up closer to my appt time that she's running severely behind so I don't waste my work day sitting at a doctor's office all morning. read more

Dr Gor was In my eyes a great Obgyn she delivered my daughter 7yrs ago. Unfortunately I had to change Drs at 27 weeks pregnant because she waited until almost my third trimester to tell me she no longer delivered babies in Englewood or Hackensack for the past 2 Yrs, and that she only delivered from Secaucus (20min away if no traffic). I found it very deceiving and unprofessional she omitted this Very Important information. When I asked her why she never mentioned anything. She stated that she usually doesn't discuss labor and delivery until the second-third trimester. I so then was forced to find another Dr. so last minute because #1. I can't imagine being in labor and having to drive 20 minutes away on a very busy highway. #2. My insurance doesn't cover that Hospital. I truly hope she doesn't do this to all her other patients. We should have the time and opportunity to build a relationship with another Obgyn based on true facts. read more

Only giving 1 star because yelp doesn't allow you to give ZERO stars. I'm pretty sure that most of these reviews are false. Dr. Gor and her staff are some of the most unprofessional people I have ever met. I can say that because I have been in the medical field for over 10 years. Unfortunately insurance dictates which doctors we can go to now, so I went to Dr. Gor after having to find a new gynecologist. As a new patient, I expected the Dr. to spend a little more time with me to get to know my medical history, etc... She spent literally 5 minutes with me. Ok fine, she's efficient whatever. 2 weeks later the staff called me to let me know that I needed to come in for a consult about my test results and I would need to come in that afternoon. I told them that I would not be able to leave work that day and if the doctor could call me and let me know if there was any issues. She said ok I'll let her know. Here I am thinking the worst so I call back to speak to the doctor and the girl said I can't speak to the doctor over the phone you have to come in for a consult... ok sounds like you really just want more money. After another call from another staff member to come in I asked if I needed to come in right away - was it an emergency. If it was just to go over test results couldn't the doctor just call me herself? The rude staff member Louisa just said well it's not life or death or she would have called you herself. I can't believe the disgusting level of her unprofessionalism. She must be a family member or something and even then, she has no right to speak to patients like that. Ok great I'm being belittled by the staff and the doctor doesn't bother to return phone calls. I have never left a message for a doctor and not gotten a call back. I was able to get a copy of my test results from another physician and I knew that I would need a follow up biopsy based on the results so I made an appointment to do so. I would not have returned to her office at all if it weren't for those results. However, when I got to the office the doctor after making me wait 1 hour told me that she wouldn't be able to do the procedure that day because of what "insurance dictates". I have never heard of such a thing. I work for several physicians who perform the same services and they never make their patients come back after supposedly being "counseled in the office first". I didn't have the time to start looking for a new doctor so I made an appointment to have the procedure the next week. When I went back yet again, It was another hour long wait, even though there were literally no other patients in the waiting room. The doctor doesn't even greet you when she walks in and makes you feel like you are wasting her time by being there. Before she even starts, she has to stop to read her text messages. She starts to finally get ready to start the procedure and while I am laying on the exam table naked from the waist down she opens the door wide and leaves it open to grab a stool from another room. Mind you I am naked from the waist down!!!! Who does that??? No regards for patient privacy whatsoever!!!! After all my anxiety to come in and get the biospy done with I couldn't just leave after that. Did I also mention that their office will sneakily try to overcharge you for your copay every time? I didn't question it the first time when they charged me the "specialist" rate. However, after I got an explanation of benefits from my insurance company I realized that I should have only been charged $25. I called my insurance company to verify and they said yes, because gynecologists fall under the primary care category the copay should only be $25. I told them this at my next visit when they said it was $40 and they said no we're a specialist. I gave them the letter from insurance and they begrudgingly accepted the $25. The third time I went they tried to do it again and I just told them the same thing again. Now I have to find a new doctor after all that hassle. I can't believe patients even go to her. read more

Dr. Gor is as competent and compassionate a doctor as you are going to find. I would recommend her to anyone. The difference between four and five stars is the way the office is run. Like other patients, I have sat in the waiting room for unbelievably long times - once, I walked out after waiting more than three hours for a regularly-scheduled appointment. While I understand that things happen, basic courtesy could be served by a call from the office. A simple "she's running behind - can you come later this afternoon, or would you prefer to reschedule?" would solve the issue. But just letting me sit there for hours on end is completely unacceptable. Mind you, the office staff will call you to confirm your appointment and will get huffy if you don't call them back to re-confirm their confirmation. It's a little one-sided, as if their time matters a whole lot more than yours. But this doesn't happen every time, and they appear to be trying very hard to make things more pleasant. At my latest appointment, I was seen immediately, the staff was friendly and helpful, and I got the care and attention every patient deserves. If things keep going like that, I'll come back and give the office 5 stars. read more

I would not recommend any expecting moms to visit this doctor. I had a bad experience. During my first visit I had filled out forms in which I stated I was allergic to any Fish based products/medicines. Even then they gave me prenatal vitamins which has fish contents. Anyways my husband saw this mistake immediately and we told the office again that since I am allergic I would like to get some other prenatal vitamins which are not derived from fish. Just because we were proactive Dr Gor may be felt intimidated and she happened to give us an advice that we can get prenatal from any pharmacy specifically told us to make sure those vitamins have "DHEAS". My husband and myself religiously followed her advice and spent whole day in various pharmacies to find a prenatal which has DHEAS. When we searched online many websites stated that any expecting mom taking DHEAS is at the risk of miscarriage!!! Plus there are no prenatal vitamins which has DHEAS instead they have "DHA". Just because her office was ignorant in the first place to provide me with proper supplements she decided to put us in pain of finding the vitamins which has the substance which she wrote it down on paper (please see the attached photo in Dr Gor's handwriting). Anyways she also performed ultrasound that day to confirm pregnancy but after few hours of my visit I started to bleed. By the time I called her office it was closed and the doctor was on vacation as well as her mail box was full. From her office voicemail greeting I got number for calling Dr Ramin who was her substitute. When I called him he was in surgery and did not receive my call but he called me back in sometime and spoke to me. I must say Dr Ramin was nice and he asked me to visit his office the next day if my bleeding continues or to go to ER while Dr Gor was on vacation. I asked Dr Ramin about DHEAS and he said it might be DHA and even he was clueless about DHEAS. I had also called Dr Gor's office to let me know which prenatal's have DHEAS so that I could get them, but my query was never resolved. The receptionist said Dr Gor will call you or I will get information from Dr and then call you. This is when I decided to change my Ob/Gyn which is the best decision I took because I read some horrible reviews of visits/delivery experiences for Dr Gor on google and yelp. During my first visit her office took some blood and urine samples in order to perform few tests. Since I changed my doctor I called Dr Gor's office to mail me the test results or I can pick them up from her office. But the lady on the phone told me that they wont give me the results until I officially make an appointment and mandatory see the doctor again !!! Why would I need to make an appointment when I just want to get hold of the test results - Guess what they want the co-pay again from my second visit and be able to charge my insurance again. I am glad I changed my Ob/Gyn. I hope Dr Gor knows what having a first child means to any parents. Wish she knew difference between DHA and DHEAS. Never again!!! WORST WORST WORST DOCTOR I have come across in my life ! I was full term pregnant and had low amniotic fluids and was asked to deliver my baby immediately and Hetal made me run around 2 different hospitals where she dint have credentials (I literally got admitted into 1 hospital and had to check out within 30 mins because she dint have credentials in that hospital - for which i had to do co-pay from my pocket) She lied to us saying she will come and do my delivery till the last minute. Her covering doctor whom i dint meet one time ended up delivering my baby. I had to wait atleast 3 hours during my regular check ups. I regret choosing this doctor. Wonder how this doctor is given most compassionate doctor award ! I have been with Dr. Gor since 2008. She has delivered both of my beautiful girls. I have only had great experiences with her and the office staff. I have recommended 6 of my closest friends and coworkers. They also only had great experiences. My best friend was having difficulties getting pregnant for medical reasons and Dr. Gor comforted and did her magic. Now, she has a beautiful and healthy baby boy! We recently just moved to the east coast and I had just gotten pregnant. Not know where to go I searched yelp for doctors. Called a number of them but landed on Dr. Gor. She has a private practice and about one billion patients. Lol Seriously the busiest Obgyn in the area. But surprisingly available when you have any questions or concerns. She is very hands on with responding to late night emergencies. She is very knowledgable about all aspects of the birthing industry. For example I wanted to get her opinion on making vitamins from my placenta. She suggested against it because all the nutritious properties will be destroyed in the process of making the vitamins. Therefore leaving it just a money making gimmick. Yesterday we just gave birth to our second baby. Hands down the best experience yet. She really is amazing and companionate. I don't feel like just a number to her, she remembers her patients, because she really cares. She takes her time to talk and make sure you leave with all your questions answered and know what to expect next. I had tears in my eyes when she smiled at me and told me everything will be alright. Doctor Gor and her staff are very courteous and professional. The staff is friendly and attentive. The medical assistant writes down all of your history and verifies the information provided. Dr. Gor has a great bedside manner and is extremely attentive to your needs. If I can choose no star I would. I am extremely unhappy with the care I had received. She did not provide compassionate care and was not upfront about no longer doing deliveries at Hackensack hospital. An example of my experience: In the beginning I clearly said I'm on Zantac for my heartburn and she said nothing. Visits later when she reviewed my meds (which she always does at the beginning of the visit) and didn't say Zantac, so I reminded her---she told me she didn't know and gave me a face-I had to ask "is something wrong?" It was then she said that it can cause cardiac defects (I'm a nurse and did research in this & found nothing only a study from 6 years ago that showed this was the case, please note Zantac is category B)--she then said it's too late now (I was more than 8 wks at this point-so she was basically saying whatever damage would have been done by now) This upset me as Zantac was clearly mentioned in my first visit b/c heartburn was my number one complaint w/ pregnancy and she reported that she was never informed of this. Another experience was her prior authorization team incorrectly authorizing an ultrasound -this led to my waiting over 3 hrs For issue to be resolved. At one point I had bled heavily the Friday prior to being induced and had to go to the hospital under her advice. I went to the hospital and was sent back home after being observed for hours. Please note she never called to see how I was after being observed. at the time I was seen by the covering physician at the hospital. It was at my appt that following Thursday that she told me "I'm surprised they sent you home". Which was upsetting as she waited 4 days to say this as opposed to communicating with the covering physician or myself ahead of that time. I got sick and my baby was behind in growth and per her instruction had to be induced they very day. She continued to say that she was surprised I left the hospital that weekend and that now my baby and I can be in danger ---again If that was be case y not call the physician covering for you?!.she had never called to follow up to see how I was or how the delivery went or if the baby was ok. How can this office say they provide compassionate care? Where is the compassion in that? In terms of delivery day she she sent me to hospital to be induced as it seemed as though my condition was worsening (which it was as I found out at the hospital- it was almost an emergent situation ). Once I got to hackensack I was informed by the nurses there that she hasn't been doing her deliveries the covering physician was-information which was never disclosed to me ...I assumed the reason the covering physician was taking care of me was because she had office visits to tend to --please note this was not the reason, at least from what I was told. Please note she didn't even call the hospital to let them know I was on my way or the covering physician which led to much confusion upon my arrival. She even had me sign a consent 2 weeks before regarding the delivery so this was an opportunity for this discussion (her not delivering my baby) and that was not mentioned. All this time even though I was having issues I said to myself at least I know her and she's the one that will be delivering me. So imagine the disappointment I felt finding out this information. Other issues with her: not reading reports In a timely fashion--and having no other medical personnel with the capability of reading results in her absence. I had to call and beg that she review my results. I expressed my frustrations to the secretary. The secretary said she would text the doctor. She finally did review it and instead of calling me herself she had secretary call me and tell me it was "normal"- which it was not true my ultrasounds had been abnormal all this time-what I needed was a call with the details of the report as my delivery/possible induction was dependent on the results of my ultrasound. Also, Hour +waits for her to see you in just 5 minutes. Horrible experience!! Please note i delivered my baby 10 mos ago. read more

Having Dr. Gore as my doctor during my pregnancy with my first child was the most disappointing thing for me and my husband. Although her stuff is pleasant and polite, she kept me waiting for an hour or 2 every time i visited . She always seemed in rush and not very attentive. The most terrible thing is that she claimed that she was affiliated with Hackensack medical center, where I was suppose to do the delivery but never showed up. On the day of the delivery while I was already in the hospital going through labor, I was told that she will not be delivering since she has not been affiliated with the hospital for over 8 months. she claimed to my husband that she told me she was not going to be able to deliver me due to some conference. Absolute lies. She never mentioned she will not be able to deliver and in FACT SHE IS NO LONGER AFFILIATED WITH HACKESNAK MEDICAL CENTER but doesn't have the decency to tell her patients. She leaves women who are nervous to begin with furious and confused. I met other women who while going through the pains of childbirth discovered that Dr. Gore will not be showing up and some random other doctor will be performing the most important procedure of your life. What a disgrace. I am very very disappointed. How could a Doctor do this. I would love to go to the office and tell her in person how terrible she is for doing this,if I was not so busy with my newborn. unacceptable. Dr. Gor delivered my son in 4/2014. I was happy with her throughout the pregnancy until the very end. I had an appointment with her the morning of 4/17, 10 days before my due date. I was 2 cm dilated when I left her office. About 2 hours later, she called my cell phone to tell me that she wanted to induce me that evening. I was surprised because she did not mention this when I was there earlier. My pregnancy was normal apart from testing positive for group B strep. I spoke to two friends in the medical field when I got off the phone who both said this sounded strange and to call back for more information. Women are not typically induced 10 days before their due date because of Group B Strep. My husband and I called Dr. Gor who reinforced that we should come. Every professional I have spoken to since has reinforced that this was not a reason to be induced that early, however, we trusted Dr. Gor at the time and my husband convinced me to go even though it didn't feel right and I was very upset. He said that if anything goes wrong because we didn't follow her instructions, we would never forgive ourselves and I eventually gave in. This was a huge mistake. I had a very tough delivery and it was because my body was not ready for my son to be born. It was Easter weekend and we believe Dr. Gor may have induced me to accommodate her schedule. We cannot make any sense out of it and her actions since reinforce this. We went into the hospital at about 8:30pm on 4/17 as instructed and they started giving me Pitocin. I was not dilating any further the next morning when Dr. Gor returned. They increased the Pitocin, however, my son's heart rate went down and they could not give me anymore. After more than 12 hours since the Pitocin started, I still was not yet 5cm dilated. It was scary and I feared having an unnecessary c section because of Dr. Gor's decision to induce me. However, his heart rate eventually went up, I dilated more and I started pushing at about 2pm. I had to push for over 2 hours and have a full episiomity. It was still difficult for him to come out, however, he was finally born at 5:05pm after being in the hospital from 8:30pm the night before. My body clearly was not ready and I am writing this now because we have an appointment for early intervention next week because he is not meeting the milestones for speech. This has been my worst fear since he was born. I had my second child this past August and was 2 cm dilated for over 2 weeks and tested positive for group B strep again. At no time was it mentioned to induce me. I spoke to my OB about my son's birth 15 months earlier with Dr. Gor and they said that it was unethical. To make it worse, I was charged $988 out of pocket for the long process Dr. Gor put me through and additional anesthesia administered was not covered because it was outside of the approved allowance. I called Dr. Gor on 9/2/15 to request records and see if she could help me to appeal to my insurance company by providing a medical explanation of why I was given additional anesthesia. One week later on 9/9, I called back the office when I didn't have a response and was told that they were waiting for her to review the records before sending. This sounded strange. The office called on 9/17 stating that I do not need the records because I should not be responsible for $988. I called my insurance company and the anesthesiologist again after hearing this from Dr. Gor and they confirmed that I am responsible. I called back to ask for the records again and Dr. Gor referred me to Englewood Hospital and the Anesthesiologist. She said that she did not have justification of why I was given additional anesthesia. I followed her instructions, however, the records do not justify the additional anesthesia administered and I recently paid out of pocket. We fully trusted Dr. Gor throughout my pregnancy. She was professional and thorough. We also loved Englewood Hospital. However, being pushed into delivering that early when my body was not ready was unethical. It costed me additional money that I could not afford and the way she responded when I requested records reinforces that her actions were unethical. She was unhelpful and even charged for records that had no explanation of why I was induced. She refused to speak to me about it or waive the fee. I fear that my son has brain damage and I do not want anyone to go through what our bodies went through. Please discuss in detail your birth plan in advance and only opt for induction if medically necessary.. not to accommodate her schedule read more

This was the worst gynecological experience I have ever had. I waited over an hour to be seen. I was in a lot of discomfort and she barely examined me. A little swab was roughly moved around inside me. 10 days later she had an office assistant call me to ask for my pharmacy's phone number. No one was able to explain to me why I needed a prescription. I was feeling better at this point but had to suffer through almost two weeks of discomfort before she did anything to help. She is not warm. Her staff is not warm. I'm not sure why people come here. read more

Disclaimer: This review is not about the doctor herself but her office staff. So we receive a bill yesterday from a collection attorney claiming that we owe Dr. Gor 600 somewhat dollars. Now, this wouldn't have made me so upset if it wasn't for the fact that the last time my wife visited her was almost 5 years ago. Dr. Gor was my wife's doctor when my son was born and he will be 5 next month. Don't get me wrong. I have no problem paying the money. My wife and I are professionals and we make a pretty good living. Our credit scores are very high and we pay off our credit card bills in full which are almost $10,000 every month. I've never disputed any medical bills in the past because frankly, I'd rather just pay than waste my time on disputing. It might sound dumb but I never ask questions when I receive any overdue bills from doctors. I just pay. That's just how I am. I trust them. But 5 years?!! AND from a collection lawyer? We are just upset because it's from a lawyer and not from themselves. Money is not too important for us but honor and integrity is. So My wife called them today and asked them what this bill is about. They said it's some kind of pregnancy deductible whatever that means. Again I don't really care about the money and I probably will end up paying this. But what I'm upset about is them telling my wife that they've been sending us the bill EVERY MONTH FOR PAST 5 YEARS! Are you kidding me? I take care of the bills in my house and as I've mentioned above, I pay off all my bills. I've never been late for the mortgages on the two houses I own, all my credit cards are paid off in full every month. I even bought my car with one-time payment because I DO NOT LIKE TO OWE MONEY. That's just how I am. And they have the guts to tell me that I received their bills EVERY MONTH FOR THE PAST 5 YEARS and I JUST IGNORED THEM? Are you kidding me? Get your act straight. Honest people with integrity should not receive this kind of letter due to your incompetence. All you had to do was either ACTUALLY send a bill or even give me a call. read more

I was pleased with this doctor at first because of all the kind reviews of her care. But then she told me she wouldn't be delivering any babies the following year and transferred my care over to her partner which I was not pleased or happy with, since at this point it was too late to transfer care to some one else. If you are going to transfer care to a partner, and one who is incompetent at best, please do not bother taking on new patients. I was traumatized by your partner. So thank you for making my pregnancy & delivery a total nightmare by transferring me over to your buffoon of a partner. After this horrific experience that I dealt with at the hands of your partner, I am terrified to have more children, which breaks my heart that my child will most likely not have siblings as a result of this whole ordeal. Please do not take on new patients if you do not intend on delivering their babies. (P.S. some patients are uncomfortable with male physicians who deal with pregnant women and babies, I being one of them, because to me they are nothing but have that white coat superior ego and are pedophiles & perverts at best. read more

I am a new patient of Dr. Gor and am absolutely thrilled that I found her. I was able to get an appointment right away. She is incredibly knowledgable and up to date on the newest information. She was very thorough and took the time to make me feel comfortable and answer any and all questions that I had. She clearly values her patients. I was so happy with my experience that i brought my daughter in for her first check up. We are both sold. Oh my god she is the worst doctor ever. I went to her in 2016. There will be hardly any patients but still the wait time would be almost 2-3 hrs. Crazy isn't it?? You will be asked to sit naked in one of the room for hours together without any clear indication when she would arrive. She would spend just few mins with the patients. She didn't even had the basic courtesy to inform when she appointed a male doctor who would be acting on her behalf. I was shocked when he entered the room to check me up. This was totally unacceptable and unethical. Apparently, she was also pursuing political career and hence was focusing all her efforts there ignoring the patients. I was glad to switch my doctor but my issue didn't stop there. The front desk took ages to transfer my medical reports to the new doctor. Highly unprofessional. Being in Healthcare profession, I would expect doctors to be sincere, compassionate, determined and have empathy towards the patients. She lacked all of them. I recently moved to the area so I needed a new gynecologist and decided to give Dr. Gor a try. I saw her for my annual exam. Since I was a new patient, I thought she might be interested to know my medical history, so I mentioned to her a problem I had experienced in the past. She gave me no advice on the matter, which was fine with me. I spent a total of 15 minutes with her. When I received the bill, my insurance told me they would cover my yearly exam, but not the extra $100 I was charged for "special medical advice." Dr. Gor charged me for having "treated" me for the issue I brought up with her! I do not trust a doctor who uses such tactics to take money from her patients. I'm disappointed to say that I called her office 6 or 7 times about this matter, and even wrote an e-mail to Dr. Gor, but she gave me no reply. This is how she treated me as a new patient. Cant agree more with other 1 star reviews. I went through a horrible experience. I wasn't even dilated at all and was forced to be induced 12 days before my due date. This was in 10/2014. I refused to be induced so she spoke to me very rudely (which I can't ever expect from someone who advertises herself as "Compassionate" and have certificates hanging in her office for the same), rather than explaining the necessity for forcing me to do something. We waited for another day and eventually gave in. This was a huge mistake. Had a terrible delivery and recovery took so long. Even though I had normal delivery it took very very long time for my stitches to heal (I got more than 10 stitches and I don't think these are documented ever). She never even explained what degree of cut I am getting. I could feel each an every stitch and screamed like an animal in the maternity ward. I still get chills when I think about it. read more
