This was a wonderful way to wind down our day and enjoy a fantastic meal. There weren't many people in the restaurant but as we continued with our meal, more and more people stopped in. The waiters and waitresses went to lunch and yet our service was still wonderful. Our kids were given coloring books and colored pencils to color with while they waited for their meal. They loved their hot chocolates and they didn't make it too hot for our kids to enjoy, it was wonderful. The kids meal came with bitterballens, fries and salad and my kids licked the plate clean. I had the roasted chicken with dutch asparagus and chips, it was beautifully cooked. My husband had the lamb and again, perfectly cooked and we loved every bite. To finish our meal, we shared the cheese plate, with rum cake and ended it with some coffee. We had such a great meal and we walked back to the train station to go back to Central Station Amsterdam full and happy.

I believe the breakfast buffet is only for guests of the Ambassade Hotel. Brasserie is open to the public at night and quite reasonable. - Parking: None. Who has a car in Old Town? Cons: - The only one readily apparent was the brusque, off-the-cuff nature of our main server at dinner. He wasn't over-the-top, but not in keeping with the friendly vibe of the hotel. And that's coming from 2 couples who grew up in New York City and lived for many years in San Francisco and LA. Anyone can...and should...get dinner at Brasserie.
