Naast de diertjes, zijn er ook vele andere toffe bezigheden voor kinderen zoals springkastelen, een trampoline, een speeltuin en mini tractors. Goed en groot aanbod van drankjes en eten, van ontbijt tot avondeten. Ook als vegetariër kon ik gerechtjes vinden die me konden bekoren. Niets om achter over van te vallen maar best lekker. De porties waren goed. De bediening was heel vriendelijk en een tikkeltje traag. Wij hadden voor alle zekerheid een reservatie gemaakt. Toen we rond 12u30 op een woensdag plaatsnamen was het heel rustig maar dat veranderde al snel even daarna.

This place was no exception - a bunch of Belgian staples plus some salads and pastas and such. When we walked in, I thought, the place is fancier than I anticipated, we're going to have to pay more than the usual 60 EUR that it costs to feed my family - esp. since the liter of sparkling water was 9.10! * My stoofvlees (carbonnade) was the best I have ever had * Scampi provencale was excellent * Perfectly done frites * Kids menu was good (spaghetti bolognese, fish fillet) * Didn't love the draft selection, but good beers in the bottle Service was friendly and the food came out quickly. Location is in Oudegem, a far-flung borough of Dendermonde. There were 2 dogs in the house on our visit. They are open on Sunday. BTW the final tab? 66 EUR for dinner, which was only 4 more than a shitty 2-star place for lunch.

The husband-and-wife team who run it used to be in fine dining and wanted to open a new place that was simpler (hence the name). The interior has all that chabby chic - glass jars, bare wood tables - that is popular in the U.S. The menu was on a chalkboard - 2 starters, 2 mains to choose from. We got all four that were on offer that week: - Cheese croquette - Baked tomato with tiny shrimp - Steak frites - Veg plate (excellent, best we've ever had; but veggie plates do usually suck) The hours are a little atypical, definitely check before you go. Also, we counted maybe 16 seats total, so a reservation is probably a good idea. Highly recommended. Best place we have eaten in Dendermonde by far.
