When you look at the menu of a Belgium place online, it can be hard to distinguish one place from another on anything but price. This place was no exception - a bunch of Belgian staples plus some salads and pastas and such.
When we walked in, I thought, the place is fancier than I anticipated, we're going to have to pay more than the usual 60 EUR that it costs to feed my family - esp. since the liter of sparkling water was 9.10!
* My stoofvlees (carbonnade) was the best I have ever had
* Scampi provencale was excellent
* Perfectly done frites
* Kids menu was good (spaghetti bolognese, fish fillet)
* Didn't love the draft selection, but good beers in the bottle
Service was friendly and the food came out quickly.
Location is in Oudegem, a far-flung borough of Dendermonde. There were 2 dogs in the house on our visit.
They are open on Sunday.
BTW the final tab? 66 EUR for dinner, which was only 4 more than a shitty 2-star place for lunch. read more
