    Note that the "Ford Focus" I reserved does NOT say electric.   Note other cars DO SAY electric.  So I did NOT rent an electric.

    SUMMARY: I reserved a "Small Sedan (Ford focus or similar) on the website 2 or 3 weeks ahead but when I went to pick up, they did NOT have a gasoline car available, even though that's what I booked!! They said they would give me an electric! BAIT AND SWITCH. DETAILS: The day before my reservation, I called Hertz (949) 470-6016 -- had to punch different number to get to local hertz office. I spoke to a male, forget name, maybe Omar? I asked him "please confirm the Ford Focus will be available" since I'd seen other Yelp reviews saying this Hertz office doesn't honor reservations. The representative said "You reserved a Ford Focus or Similar" and if you click some buttons on the website and read the fine print, 'or similar' includes and electric". Note: when I booked, I had the option (see below) to choose an electric car. I specifically did NOT chose that. Since some rentals explicitly state ELECTRIC and most do not, the reasonable person would assume that the rentals showing a picture of a gas-powered car are a gasoline-powered automobile. Note: when I did the online check-in the day b4 pick-up, providing pictures of providing all my documentation over computer and cell phone, it did NOT tell me my car was NOT a gas powered car, but instead an electric. It was only when I called on the phone, the day before, that he said "Ford Focus or similar" means electric!!! He never offered to provide a gas car in a larger size. Only when I asked if he would honor gas-car reservation did he say "we don't have any gas cars in one size up at this location, and don't even have them at 2 sizes up". He never said "it is our job at Hertz to honor the reservation, I'll get a gas car from another location here for you tomorrow". He said I could go to other Hertz locations and do the leg work myself. Odd that he immediately jumped into the "legalese" of "check the details" and even went off into "other customers use a debit card, and that's not allowed" seems like he's just pointing out legalese and how Hertz has a way to wiggle out based on fine print. Several years ago, the CEO of Hertz made a business decision to go "all in" on electric cars. Nobody wants an electric rental car for their road trip - there's no where to charge it! Plus, electric-cars are turning out to be like the latest electronics: super expensive when new, but they depreciate like crazy. Now Hertz has an inventory of electric cars that are worth half what Hertz paid for them (or less) and no one wants to rent them. Just check the price of Hertz stock over the last several years. It's one thing to make a terrible business decision, but it's another to treat your customers terribly. So, if you'd like a terrible customer experience (like reserving a car and not having one and being panicked calling other rental companies an hour before they all close, trying to find a car the day of your road trip) then use Hertz!

    Rented a Tesla from them for a week, to drive Seattle for my birthday.The lady behind the desk helped me,she is awesome at her job.She upgraded me to a model Y from a Model 3 As they were out of model 3. Great experience from them.From customer service to the actual product knowledge they are the best. Returns on the vehicle was such smooth.definitely will recommend them!!

    Just got home from dropping off the rental car I had for 4 days. Nice car, Nissan Kicks, comfortable and fun. The guys working when I picked up the car were super friendly. Lupe was the guy that helped me when I dropped off the car. He went above what would be expected, friendly, explained things well, and was patient because I forgot to fill up the gas before I dropped the car off, so I went to get gas then dropped off the car. I would highly recommend this place to rent a car.

    The cancellation message day of, some how I'm responsible for paying the cancellation fee. What a joke.

Budget had no person behind their counter for 40 minutes. Finally guy came with one person who he was training. Avis next had three people but totally overwhelmed. I had reserved a standard size car but was only offered full size Malibu. The car had over 55000 miles and made a very unsettling noise while driving at speeds under 50 mph. The car also smelled of smoke. Needless to say Budget and Avis will be at the bottom of my car rental list.

Before this recent experience, I liked Enterprise Rent-A-Car, particularly for the pickups and drop-offs, and am truly appalled at what I experienced with this last rental. My most recent need to rent a car was because my car unexpectedly died. I rented a car from this Enterprise location for 3 days. The pickup was smooth, and the lady (can't remember her name) who checked me in was good to work with, similar to my previous experiences with Enterprise. However, that would be the end of the good experience. When I went to drop off the car 3 days later and asked for a ride to an auto dealership to pick up my newly leased car, Jannic told me to drive over to the dealership and they would pick it up from there, as they were too busy to give me a ride then. This was Monday, May 4. Later that same week, when I saw that my credit card was being charged more than the 3-day rental, I called that Enterprise office and got Jannic again. He said he'd call the dealership to locate the car, so that they could close out the contract. Even put me on hold to supposedly take care of that. Then, on May 14, I got an email from Enterprise asking me to confirm whether I'd be returning the car on May 15, along with over $1,000 in charges! So, I drove over to the Laguna Hills Enterprise office to attempt at settling this once and for all, as apparently calling would lead to no resolution with mounting credit card charges. What did I get? Jannic told me that he texted the dealership with no response. He called, and there was no response. He said the person with whom I left the keys didn't work there. And he insisted that he couldn't close out the contract unless he could locate the car. Yet, other than supposedly calling or texting, he wasn't going to do anything else to locate the car that he told me to drop off at the dealership! I would never have done that otherwise in a million years! Since it was clear that it'd be up to me to locate the car if I don't want to be responsible for paying for it, I drove to the dealership. Lo and behold, the car keys were there, the employee with whom I dropped off the rental keys on the day I picked up my leased car indeed works there! Right at the dealership, I called Enterprise again and got routed to an assistant manager, who apologized for the miscommunication that caused me to have to spend my time driving to the Enterprise rental office and then to the car dealership. By the way, that also costs me mileage on a leased vehicle. She promised to reverse charges for the additional days of rental and to reduce the rental charges for the 3 days I had the car to compensate for my unnecessarily horrible experience that was due to their communication failure, not any fault on my part. She said she'd call me before the end of the day. That was May 14. Guess what? It's now end of day May 15, there was no call, and the credit card charges have not been reversed! I'm left with no other choice but to spend more time and energy disputing these bogus charges through my credit card company. How does a business operate like this? Never, ever rent from Enterprise again!

When I picked up the car, it was dirty--the exterior was covered in bugs and water spots, and the interior had debris and even a gummy candy under the seat. I actually paid to wash and vacuum the car myself before our trip. I returned it this morning in much better condition than I received it, having washed and vacuumed it a second time right before drop-off. An hour after I left, the owner called to claim there was 'pet hair' inside--a common tactic mentioned in other reviews to trigger a $150+ cleaning fee. I told him I was coming back immediately. When I arrived just 7 minutes later, he was visibly caught off guard. He pointed to 3 or 4 stray hairs in the cargo area as his 'evidence.' Once I started taking photos and told him I was calling corporate to report the scam, he immediately backed down. He then absurdly claimed he 'never intended' to charge me--which makes no sense why he would call to complain in the first place. Advice: If you MUST rent here, take photos of the interior and exterior at pickup AND drop-off. He relies on people being too far away to come back and dispute these fake charges.

My overall experience was pleasant…read more I received a phone call the day before my scheduled rental and the morning of to confirm the time I would need the car. Since the location is on the smaller side, they did not have an associate available to pick me up so they sent a Lyft to take me to their location. Returning the car was a quick process that took less than 5 minutes after they visually inspected the car. My only feedback is that I would not recommend renting the Nissan Rogue.

This guys are out to scam you and create false charges…read more Made a reservation for a full Suv 2 weeks prior of my trip, 1-1/2 days before the date a guy calls me from this location saying they dont have a full suv and if I wanted s different vehicle he would give me a 250 discount .. that was the first red flag is actually the cost of renting that particular vehicle, when i showed up to pick it up they promised to take off 250 from the total bill and they asked me for a 200 deposit. I paid everything with my platinum amex.. once i didn't get either my discount or deposit i went to their office because they dont answer their phones and told them i was doing a back charge so the guy begged me not to do it.. Another guy came from the back and started coming up with nonsense charges i said show me where it says that in the contract, they couldn't show me. Told him i was doing it and with a smile he said go ahead they will Put you in to a none rental flag.. I said perfect I dont want to rent ever again from hertz and their scamming ways
