I was there at the same time as the Belmont on June 9…read more Renting a car at the airport or anywhere was over $100 day for a small vehicle. I contacted Spa City Car Rental in Saratoga Springs and spoke with Jackie a week or so before and she arranged a Subaru Forester at a huge savings for me. I couldn't get there until the day following the scheduled day, but she held it for me until the next day even though she could have rented it to someone else easily considering all the activities going on at that time. She inspected the vehicle with me and pointed out any existing dings in the finish. When I returned the car, it was quick and easy...like dealing with someone from your own hometown. I will use her services again, without question!

This is a real company!! I was worried because there is no uber or lyft in Lake George, but the…read moreLake George Taxi service (also called Tri-County Taxi) was dependable and affordable. I needed to take a taxi to the Fort Edwards-Glen Falls Amtrak stop, and it was $27.50 (then I tipped about 20%). The woman answering the phone was very kind, and I was able to secure a ride for 12:30pm when I called at about 8:30am that morning. The only reason that this isn't a 5 star review is because the driver was a bit late, couldn't figure out how to verify my credit card (so I just paid cash), and acted a bit strange. The car was also a bit beat up, but it got me where I needed to go! I would recommend this ride share service if you need a ride, but call in advance to schedule and have cash handy just in case!

This morning, Waterfront sent me an email telling me the cruise was "cancelled." They also claimed to have tried contacting me via email and phone. Both claims from Waterfront are lies. I checked Waterfront's own website after receiving the email and the cruise I booked was sold out. I then called to inquire and was told they scheduled an event, so I was essentially kicked off and completely disregarded. I've attached pictures as proof. If you're considering booking a cruise around Lake George, I strongly suggest you book with a company who has ethics, standards and class.

We went out on the Adirondack and the boat was large enough for all the patrons on board but by far it seemed that the best seats on board were on the upper level. The lower levels were challenging to see the fireworks because most of the windows didn't open and the best option for seeing was to go outside to the staircase. Even there the roof overhead made for difficult viewing. There are other options in the area for viewing fireworks by boat and we would most likely try a different boat- either with this company or another in the same area. All of the staff were friendly and made getting on and off rather easy.

Well, we finally did this past weekend, and the only regret we have is waiting so long! What a fantastic experience from start to finish. The ride is about 7 miles round trip--3 1/2 miles out and 3 1/2 miles back. It's not overly difficult, but let's just say your quads will definitely remind you the next day that they got a little workout! The staff was wonderful--friendly, easygoing, and full of interesting information about the area and the tour. Our guide, Bryan, did a terrific job sharing the history of the trail and the surrounding area, which made the ride even more enjoyable. About halfway through, there's a relaxing stop with picnic tables where you can enjoy a snack or drink that you bring along in the handy storage bag attached to each rail bike. It was the perfect chance to sit back, take in the scenery, and recharge before heading back. And then there's the railroad trestle! The views of the Hudson are absolutely beautiful and definitely a highlight of the trip. Just be warned--you can't stop in the middle to take pic of the scenery so your rail bike partners are still pedaling and you snap quickly but hold on to your camera!! The ride back seemed to go by even faster, probably because we were having so much fun, plus more downhill which is always easier. This was a memorable experience filled with fresh air, beautiful scenery, great people, and plenty of laughs. We had an amazing time and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique Adirondack adventure!
