We arrived at our scheduled pickup time to find the vehicle not ready. We were told it was "being washed" and had to wait nearly an hour. While we waited--before we were even given the keys--we were aggressively pushed to purchase the extra damage waiver. The pressure was intense to the point of feeling predatory, and it raised real concerns that we were being set up to either buy unnecessary coverage or be blamed for damage later. Spoiler: we were. We were told the vehicle had no damage and asked to sign the condition report before inspecting the vehicle ourselves. Once we finally got it, the boot didn't open automatically--not from the key fob, not from the handle. We assumed this was a normal feature of the model since no issue was noted and we weren't given any instruction or manual. There were no staff on the garage floor to ask. The vehicle also had less than a quarter tank of fuel, forcing us to immediately find a station before even starting our trip--another completely avoidable delay. We returned the vehicle to Inverness Airport well before our scheduled return time. The return agent walked around the car, noted no visible damage, and I explained the boot worked the same way it had at pickup. That seemed to be the end of it... until we received an email falsely accusing us of causing the issue and asking us to file a damage claim through our credit card company. We've sent multiple detailed emails to dispute the charge, offered written statements from all four adults in our party, and requested security footage review. No one has replied. Not even basic documentation was provided that would allow us to file a credit card claim if we wanted to. Just repeated automated messages pushing us to accept responsibility for damage we did not cause. This experience has left us with the unmistakable impression that Enterprise UK is running a bait-and-blame operation, where customers are pressured to pay extra up front--and if they don't, they're targeted with baseless claims after the fact. We've rented cars across Europe and North America, from Enterprise and other agencies, and we've never dealt with anything remotely this shady or incompetent. We will never rent from Enterprise again, and I recommend anyone considering it take their business to literally any company with functioning ethics and a pulse in their customer service department.

I have been an Enterprise Plus member for years and have rarely had a bad experience. That is until I met Shannon, who is a part of the Enterprise Glasgow team. We were in Endinburg when the Queen passed last month and it caused crazy traffic problems and detours in the city the day our car was due. We communicated with the local Enterprise office and let them know we drove around for 2 hours attempting to get to the Waverley Station drop off and confirmed with them via email that the City Center Location would be fine. I parked it there and even walked to Waverly to give them the keys so that the car was safe. The enterprise representative assured me everything would be fine and they would not charge us extra for dropping it at the wrong location. He thanked us for our efforts and said others were just leaving cars on the side of the road because they were experiencing the same issue. Shortly after, Shannon emailed and informed me that we were charge an extra day (the city center location was not open Sunday so they couldnt process the return until Monday). I emailed back politely and explained all the conversation and communication we had with enterprise and the representative. She emailed back a one sentence reply letting me know that we were still being charged even though I sent her all of the communications showing that we had arranged with her co-worker and we confirmed there would be no extra charges. Shannon hasn't responded to 3 emails to try to talk it through. Shannon refused to respond to the confirmation that I gave her from Enterprise confirming we returned on the correct day. Shannon was extremely unhelpful and unresponsive. Shannon is the reason I will no longer be renting from Enterprise. It is sad to think that one employee can ruin the reputation of an entire organization from my perspective. For her to not respond and not understand that I literally went above and beyond trying to do the right thing and spent extra time on my VACATION to be a good person is really frustrating. I hope this message gets to Shannon at Enterprise Glasgow because she refused the 3 other attempts to try to solve this issues.

To ensure they knew it was coming back damage-free, I sent them an email confirming the time of my return and even took a video on my phone of me walking around the car and showing there were no scratches on the body. A few days after I got home, the company claimed there was a scratch that would cost over $1,000 to repair on the door. That was the cost of my entire rental! I sent them screenshots from the video showing that door with no damage. They still insisted on charging me. I sent them the video. Same thing. I asked them to look at footage from the garage to see who caused the damage. They refused. It didn't matter to them that I was a longtime customer. They said I was responsible for damage caused up to 4 hours after the location opened the next morning -- meaning I was on the hook for whatever they did with the car even though it was the day after I returned it to their own garage. Unbelievable. I will never rent with Sixt again. I can only hope this review prevents someone else from making the same mistake. Go elsewhere and rent with an honest business that treats its customers right!

The only thing they do is tell you to stay put and lies!!! I am a traveler from California, I rented a car for Glasgow branch for my trip to the Islay island on the Feb. 2nd. I bought the fully insurance(42gbp/day） including the tires and mirrors and extra 33gbp for islands coverage. Unfortunately I had a flat tire on the second afternoon, so I started calling them for help. I was suppose go back to the main land by ferry on that night, but after the long wait in the broken car they told me there was no right size tire on the island and it will be ready by the next day. So I payed for the taxi and hotel and changed my ferry to the next day. And the next day was a total nightmare, I called the them so many times and the only answer I got is to wait. Then and the very last minute I googled and found the tire shop and the towing company, it only took my 30 mins with 2 simply phone calls to sort the issue. But then I found out the MOST UGLY PART of this case, the tire shop got the job on the first day right after the accident but the insurance company cancel the job, they had the right tire the whole time!!! And the towing company was also be contacted but they been told to hold the job. I amused the insurance planed just to make me run out of my time any have to pay for all those myself. And I'm pretty sure if I didn't fix the problem myself they will make me wait another day! It's been 10 days since I contact they Damage department to get my money back for the towing and tire and so far nobody respond. Just be very careful if you have to rent from them and the insurance was total a waste, if anything happens they gonna make you pay anyways.

I jump on the site. Figure out how many hours I need the vehicle for, wander on down, pick up the car and off we go. Nae hassle. But surely, I hear thee cry, but surely this does not merit a jump in two stars does it? Not normally folks, but hear me out. The additional star has to be awarded for the follow up customer service and the action taken to 'right my wrong'. After a couple of emails were exchanged on the subject of my initial bookings (instigated by them and not me I might add), CCC credited my account with around 25 notes to be spent on latter bookings. This was pretty cool I feel, since I never actually kicked up much fuss about the situation. So there goes. It's a cool service and perfect for someone who occasionally needs a car for a couple of hours work. Oh, they also hire vans out, which came in handy for a small flat move I helped out at recently. Around 40 notes for 4 hours. Not bad methinks!

Joined the city car club 2 weeks ago and have used the service twice already…read more Signed up on the Tuesday before the Saturday we wanted to use one of the cars. Sign up online was a breeze. To speed up my application process I called them, as directed. A simple 3 way call was made with the DVLA to validate I was who I said I was and that I had a clean drivers licence. Yearly membership was paid over then phone. Two days later revived my welcome pack with smart card. Booking was very easy and I knew exactly what car I was going for as it's parked at the end of my street. Once at the car as required we checked for damage. Car was in immaculate condition both inside and out and was fitted with all mod cons. I don't have my own car or really have a need for one. I cycle most places I go but sometimes " a big shop" or a trip to Ikea a car is required. I wouldn't say CCC is cheap by any means but for the amount of time I will be using the service compared to paying for a car that will sit unused outside my house most of the year, this really works for me.

Though it was inconvenient to catch the shuttle to their car pickup (which their car yard is a bit offputting when you get there because it is in a gravel lot full of potholes and in an industrial area) the staff was very kind. The desk attendant was very distraught that I would not purchase car insurance (I use Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card that provides primary coverage up to $75k) but let me take the car anyway. Upon drop off of car, they did not point out any new scratches. The shuttle driver was awesome! I reserved my Easirent car through Expedia and it stated I would pay $103.64 for a week rental of a compact car. I was, however, charged two amounts on the day I picked up the car. I was charged $101.42 from Easirent Glasgow and $120.54 from easirent.com. I was refunded $119.94 after car drop off so paid less than what Expedia anticipated (obviously exchange rate had something to do with it). No surprise charges like Hertz charged me the week before when I was in Ireland ($7 a day mandatory liability insurance that wasn't part of the reservation quote)!

Upon arrival we were charged extra fee for some insurance we didn't want but HAD to take. And then, they told us our car was not available so we'll have to get (at the same price) a commercial vehicle. Of course we had no other choice than to accept as they told us this AFTER we paid everything. They refused to give us a full refund even if they couldn't provide the service we paid for. This is a pure SCAM. The vehicle was in disgusting conditions and hadn't been cleaned at all. We had to demand that the car got cleaned up, and therefor had to wait for them to clean it up and receive the vehicle hours later than planned (it was for a day trip.) This was my worst experience with a rental company. Well it's more a scam company than an actual company. Avoid it.
